Kim did a good job with her structure getting trained to be a pilot? She is doing a good job. It's just gonna take experience behind that over years and show me a fantastic pilot and she'll be more relaxed. When she's a pilot by herself to travel with the plane her own plane. I give her a lot of confidence in herself that she could do it no matter what practice makes perfect. I always remember that kim❤❤

Welcome! to the area. Debate in neighboring Saluda County over courtesy car but county airport (6J6?) is in middle of country. Basically 7 miles to 3 towns… Lex co airport is similar. County has old crown Vic’s that would be awesome to have available, but concerns over liability and other stuff. Thanks for the great content! I watch this channel as a guy who dreamed of being a pilot for decades, finally took lessons and did some flying, but then got a spouse whom forbade it (for fear of my demise). I try to understand what's going on. Probably misunderstanding. But it's a vicarious thrill regardless. Might have to fly again.

Get your spouse a discovery flight with a good flight school... Introduce her correctly to the aviation world. My spouse isn't against me flying, as I do it for a career... But not a huge fan of small aircraft. However, I have pointed out how much of a time machine a plane is when it comes to travel. So now, she just looks forward to the destinations that she can reach with our plane.

Random comment…I knew a family back in the sixties. The wife would not let her husband fly even though he was an experienced pilot. The experience was as a P51 pilot escorting B17s on the first daytime bombing over Germany. Got shot down, broke his back on the canopy on the way out, and was put in the POW camp that was known for its Great Escape!

@@babyboomer9560 Wow. That's a good anecdote. Reminds me that I had a chum in elementary school whose dad I remember when I visited his home. Seemed like a nice fella. Many decades later I was reading about B-29 pilots in WW2 who had bombed Japan. This man, I learned, had been one of those pilots. His bomber was shot down, he was captured, and he spent time in a brutal Japanese prison camp. I contacted my childhood pal and noted that I had never known that about his dad. He told me that it was true, and that his father (who had passed away in the 1980's) had never once agreed to talk about his war experiences. Nor did he ever want to participate in veterans reunions or activities. "He hated war, and that's all he would say." He added that his dad would never fly. He would take trains or ships, but despite having been a very able pilot, and having completed many combat missions before the last one, he would never leave the ground again.

Question, when the gear is pulled up I see the mirror clearly located for you to manually check if the gear is down if you're suspecting instrument failure or such my question is do you use that mirror every time for extra safety or do you only use it rarely in an emergency situation?

I live in Lexington County just outside of the town of Lexington, about 20 minutes away from Pelion. I had no idea there was a nice little airfield in Pelion. It's interesting the things you learn from a RU-vid channel. Great series. Thank you guys for sharing.
