The Defender is my go-to ship for a few reasons. It is a really good fighter with good, steady maneuverability and fire power. A big bonus over most other small ships is its internal storage! Since looting is a big thing, it is great to have 650 units (a set of heavy armor and many guns and such) when doing bunker missions. With its front door, you can easily park right up close. And as was said, you can swap in an Atlas and lap the 'Verse 8 times with the huge quantum tank! On a side note: during the last sale, I 'upgraded' from the Sabre to the Defender for the reasons above. I don't regret it but do miss the Sabre.
I already know all of these ships in and out since I've been playing for so long, yet I'm still a sucker for any ship review videos. Great video and keep them coming!
I had no idea that I needed yet another person reviewing ships I already know about, but you have an angle that others don't have, and mixing in lore and history gives such a great view instead of just crunching numbers and statistics. Love this!
I find the Defender to be one of my favorite ships to fly and now it is a must have to go with my newly purchased BMM, as it can now fit into the hanger. Thank you for making these videos as I always respect and trust your opinions on ships, as you helped me greatly as a new player when I first got the game and the Titan pack as you said it was the best starter choice and it was.
Gotta love the crab. Thanks for highlighting some of the finer features of this interesting ship. Probably the only fighter I'll ever keep and a strong daily workhorse. Its worth noting among the features still missing from the Defender were "EMP missiles" for its launcher. Though it's been a very long time since they were even mentioned.
@@RedLir_Live Glad to see you are still active. Didnt see your stream on twitch anymore and always liked watching you. Although I didnt agree on some views, you are still one of my favorite SC content creators. :)
Banu Defender ❤! This is downright the best daily driver : Speed and almost the maneuverability of a light fighter, tankiness of medium and some heavies, an interior for this here Looty McLootface, 2 beds so you can bring a friend, a ramp, so you can drag the bodies of your dead enemies and look at them rot until they become one with the awesome organic interior of that wonderful beast!
The whole split shields on any ship feels like a nerf to me. Given the choice, I would take one big pool but I guess this is how they balance things more for bigger ships.
My daily driver is the Talon, because I think it's pretty. I guess the only real downside of the defender is it has a somewhat largish cross section for something you might compare to a light fighter. Although I'd think the S2 shield makes up for that. I've heard one person rank it 3rd strongest fighter, just sitting under the Gladius and Arrow.
Hey, shout out, yoy gave a great fight over JT last night, Coyote had a hell of a time keeping you off him, and the other 2 of us were having a hell of a time landing hits past that 1 point where your rear shield ALMOST went down.. I was in the other Defender, and I love that ship, but DAMN do you know how to make it move! Cheers! Gf!
This ship has 100% grown on me. Whilst I love the arrow, the fact is for example, if you going looting its absolutely no good. I bought the defender with my mining money and honestly dreading any reset lol.
My issue with the Defender is there is a near 100% chance of it glitching out. It almost never goes more than 1 or 2 missions without hitting a game-breaking glitch.
@@bexarbrown8005 Oh, all kinds of stuff. Sometimes the targeting system will break so you can no longer target ships, sometimes you'll be unable to leave the pilot chair at all, sometimes your guns will disappear, etc. It's remarkable how many bugs this fighter has.
i want to see much much more alien ships as i think they are way more interesting than any human ships...like Oooo wow a ship that looks like a X-wing...whats next a y-wing? u got the slave-1?
