When I got to my line unit in the army at fort Hood out of basic as an e-2 the first week I was tasked with asking my platoon sgt where I could find the PRC e-6 it was not a good day
Good, quick, thorough review. Appreciate it. Have a buddy of mine who purchased two of these. He’s sending me one. Looking forward to to testing it in my area.
I love my AR-152... But... I ran across an article that stated if you connect the AR-152 to Chirp, or most any other program, it does something to the AR-152's programming. The result is that the power output for H goes from 8w down to 4w, M goes from 5w to to 7w, and L goes from 1w to 7w. Once this happens, it's irreversible. I tested my ownAR-152, which is running firmware A152V01, and found this info to be true. Has anybody else here tested your own AR-152 after laptop programming to see if this affected your radio? If yes, has anyone found a cure? Thanks.
Have 2 of these. Have found their outputs on CH 18 to be High=6.3-6.6W, Mid=3.2-3.3W and Low=1.0-1.9W after using CHIRP multiple times. Seems to be pretty much in line with most HT units advertising 10W.
Okay, quick question. Looks like you have the speaker mic. I just bought the speaker mic to use on my TYT radio's. It has an orange button on top of the speaker mic. Any idea what that is for?
@@GunsandGearNetwork Okay, I think your right, but I am using this speaker/mic on a TYT radio, and on that radio, it doesn't. I will have to try on one of my Baofeng's
Probably a little bulky for that. Look at the UV5R or something similar in size. You can get the UV5R with a larger battery but still be smaller and lighter.
@gunsandgearnetwork Hello Shannon, This is Olivia from Baofeng support team. The output power will be affected by various factors; however, some dealers will appear to misrepresent the output power. Also, the AR-152 radio is a customized model for our dealers, and we suggest you can confirm the output power of the radio with the seller again before purchase. Thanks for your understanding. If there's anything else we can help with, feel free to contact us. Regards, Olivia Baofeng Support Team
