I worked at an ACA (Affordable Care Act) call center when it first opened, and helped so many people who'd NEVER had health insurance! Had to explain basics like co-pays and referrals and deductibles, but I also had the great honor of explaining that no, they wouldn't have to pay the entire bill, that they'd have a medical visit for themselves for $25 as an example, and many children had appointments at no charge. Many were in utter disbelief that they would be able to go to a doctor for a checkup, not have to wait to go to an ER because they were so sick they were desperate, and many were able to visit dentists and receive eye care as well. Yes, some regions had high premiums due to having few insurance companies who serviced the area and no competition, but so many of our working poor who make too much money for medicaid but not enough to afford insurance are actually covered now. What an absolute blessing for so many people!
As a Canadian, I still don’t understand why Americans don’t want universal health care. Why do you want to take on insurance company as individual while you have collective power of the US government. Why don’t you pull all the resources together and pay into it while you are healthy, so you don’t have to worry about the medical bill when you are sick.
It cracks me up tRump could have put his name on the vaccine like that, the Trump Vaccine and it would have saved lives. Repubs repeatedly tried to kill Obamacare and thanks to people like you folk got to experience healthcare for the first time and Americans changed their minds and deemed it good. ⭐
@@freedomlife3623 oh no, we do. Trust me. Most, if not all, want universal health care, but they don't want to fight for it, if it "doesn't affect them."
At this point I'm starting to wonder if even Amazon realizes they're too big and are trying to sabotage themselves. You know, shed a few customers so things aren't as hectic all the time. Too bad that the system has become self-sustaining at this point. We would all _like_ to stop using Amazon but there's simply no alternatives for most of us.
That red flag better be big enough so they can see it from the moon. There's no warning sign greater than a corporation treating "ethics" like it's a dirty word.
Amazon: "We believe in having a better relationship with our employees, and that those employees have a stronger voice as individuals without needing Unions to speak for them." Also Amazon: *Bans the use of some words that might be used to raise awareness of issues, or even indicate that some issues might be unethical* It still amazes me that anyone still thinks this corporation isn't exploitative. Especially when they say it right out in the open like that.
Reminder: corporations are NOT people. They should NOT be treated like people, should NOT have the same rights as people, and they should ALWAYS be eyed with suspicion. Because if they can shaft you to turn a profit, they most likely a) would or b) already did.
Yup! You hear just the kindest, sweetest words spoken with the most icy venom you could even imagine in some church groups down south. It's both horrifying and hilarious.
Actually, President Obama’s second joke was even funnier than the first: “apparently the Secret Service are now required to wear aviator sunglasses.” 😂
"I'll pray for you" As a Southern man, I know the real meaning of that phrase. Colbert you lucky them network censors don't have an ear for Southern because hot damn son, that's a brutal one.
Jackson is the most qualified person ever to be up for the job.. of course Blunt won't support her. If there's one thing the GOP cant' abide, it's a qualified person in an important govt. position.
Honestly the GQP doesn't deserve anything at this point I don't fucking understand why people vote for this fucking ass party all they care about is themselves they don't care about the people they want to take away rights for people their definition of freedom is freedom for themselves not freedom for the public.
There is absolutely no one in the entire United States of America who is qualified to be a judge. There's a video online from World War II that tells Americans how to grow "Marihuana" to defend our country, and "Marihuana" is still illegal because that film was buried for almost 50 years. Now, it's been public for over 30 years and "Marihuana" is still illegal. There is _not one_ person in the United States of America who can make wise judgements based on evidence. Not a single one.
I had tears of joy watching these 2 wonderful men together in the White House. Lord save us from hateful Trump and his Cult. Sending congratulations to John and his beautiful wife during her health struggle. ❤️
I just watched Lincoln the movie for the 1st time. Now I have a new understanding of how hard it is to get anything passed. It's amazing the things President Obama was able to do with Republicans in the house. Local elections ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
If you wanna see more of our government in media, I recommend checking out the West Wing. It gets good right away and answers a lot of basic questions about democracy and self governance
I believe he was a little naive about how little the Repubs were willing to work with him, let alone try and stonewall him. On the other hand he is so freaking smart and charismatic and quick, it hurts to think how much I miss having someone like that represent me. That little gaff, if you watch the whole thing is just so perfect. 🥲
We miss him so much, his intelligence tempered with warmth...his loyalty...his ethics. He never embarrassed us. DT was a national disgrace and an international embarrassment. No one misses trump except his kkkult. Not the brightest folk, kkkult folk. Not the nicest. A kkkult of hate that infects the nation like a cancer. 🤡
....but I’m not supporting her because she’s well qualified and because she’s the choice of a democrat president. Instead I will support a drunkard who hasn’t sat as an actual judge in an actual courtroom, or worked as an actual lawyer, because he’s more qualified, being rethuglikkkan, White, and pees standing up
For anyone curious, Disney World has self-governing status like a city would because Walt Disney originally bought that land in the 60's to build a utopian planned community. But then he died immediately, so they just built Bigger Disneyland instead. But the governmental status stayed because nobody bothered to challenge it
You must have missed the part where they financially supported it. They're only "speaking against it" now because of the backlash they're facing. They aren't against it at all.
Obama cracking the dad jokes! "I confess I heard some changes have been made by the current President, since I was last here. Apparently, Secret Service agents have to wear aviator glasses now. The Navy Mess has been replaced by a Baskin Robbins. And there’s - there’s a cat running around which I guarantee you Bo and Sunny would have been very unhappy about."
lolol obama has good writers..he was there to take pressure off of bidens stupidity..somehow i know what a bullshit gathering it was..the only thing it showed was biden wondering around and nobody talking to him...
Obama is awesome back at the White House. Their friendship is wonderful. Wish all ex-presidents could be this way!! Or at least shut up!! Hint, hint rump!!
I read a book called "The Presidents Club" about how presidents have associated with their predecessors, starting with Truman and, strangely enough, Herbert Hoover. See, Truman knew why Hoover got elected president in the first place; he had been the savior of Europe after WWI, averting starvation of the masses. Well, the same skill was needed again, and Truman sent Hoover, who by that time was old and not entirely well, but he dutifully served his country and Europe a final time before retiring for good and dying shortly after. And the thanks he gets for saving Europe from starvation TWICE is being remembered for "Hoovervilles". 😔 The rest of the stories were similarly interesting! 😊
@@nerfherder4284 His ethics always shine through. DT has no ethics...no humanity...no manhood. That's why he's crazy jealous of President Obama. He didn't join in his insurrection because *his people scare and embarrass him!* When he looked on the monitor and saw that the loonies were his people...😂
“Another thing that scares Disney: Matt Gaetz being within 50 feet of The Teacup Ride.” A killer line that is delivered so quickly in a sea of great lines that it could (unfortunately) pass by unnoticed. Brilliant.

Dusty Jones, you say this reunion is the best thing ever. Yeah. I’m still waiting on this but I feel like it’s never gonna happen at this point. And it was false promise. He can do it and I question why he isn’t. So unless that happens with everything Biden does I’m like… “Meh”. I miss Obama’s execution on big visions and goals. People kept telling him no to doing the affordable care act… and he was like Nah I’m gonna go ahead. I’d rather have a impact then worry about campaigning and if I only get 1 term let me make it count. And it is literally why Obama got a second term. People voted for him again because he was bold and didn’t listen to the naysayers. Imagine if he had sat on his hands like Joes doing now and had Not pushed for the legislation. Obama sure as hell wouldn’t have been tricked/ deceived and bamboozled by Manchin and Sinema. He doesn’t need to get the legislation for student loans…he could and it would pass but he’s not even trying. Executive action would do it too. Trump did the worst kinds of shit with executive action. Like I said Bidens job performance is a “Meh” for me. He is so screwed when loan payments start up again and inflation is this high. I’m saying he’s putting a nail on the coffin of his presidency.
Since the Disney princesses were cursed and relied on the kiss to revive them, I respectfully submit that the kiss should be treated as a medically necessary procedure, like CPR, which gives Prince Charming a defence to assault. All we need now is for Disney to re-release those movies with the a two-hour lecture from a law professor explaining how context is everything and Prince Charming kissing the drugged princess does not mean you can go around kissing drugged people, just like a surgeon cutting someone open with a scalpel doesn't mean that you can just go around slashing people (at that point they bring in Stabby the Dwarf to tie things together).
What you may not know is that Stabby is serving time due to illegally performing live-saving operations on patients without sufficient healthcare coverage.
Tbh, there are dark twists of Dornröschen (sleeping beauty in German) where the people actually r@pes the princess. She either wakes up by the act, when she is giving birth, or her baby bites her. Also, snow whites mom was forced to dance in red hot iron shoes until she died. German Fairy tales are cruel. The real scam is actually that Disney does pretend it is for tiny little children and everything is pink and funny. It is not

I think the GOP taking away Disney’s tax privileges cause they disagreed with them is disgustingly immoral (not that they care about that). However, Disney, or any company, SHOULD NOT have the same authority/responsibility as a county government.
