In all I have read since Mr Cummings’ passing, no-one has mentioned that Mr Cummings went home to his constituency not just when the House was on leave. Not just at weekends. Mr Cummings went home to his people every day. He didn’t fall prey to the isolation of his office or to DC politics. He never forgot for whom he fought, whilst also recognising that a rising tide lifts all boats. He knew the best way to lift his peoples boats was not to stand on the necks of others, but to rise the tide by giving all boats the equality of opportunity promised in your nations Dream. I’m sorry for what our cousins across the pond have lost as a nation and have been surprised by the depth of my own sorrow Mr Cummings passing has aroused in my soul. America has lost a man who at least from afar, seemed to be a guardian of your nations conscience.

Your thoughts are opposite of truth. What did obama do for the people? He devalued the dollar, failed internationally, did nothing to bring down medical costs, did nothing to help the 94% of black Americans who voted for him.
I remember the story he told when he was elected chairman, about a teacher who he told that he wanted to become a lawyer, that teacher told him that he should not focus on becoming a lawyer and only think about jobs he can get you in hands, well after Mr. Cummings became a lawyer, the very first client he had with the same teacher that told him that he should not focus on becoming a lawyer. I love this story very inspirational.

The bipartisan group consists of Republicans, Democrats and Independents whose primary focus is on criminal justice reform.
