Hoping to visit this Island year 2023 . I have been to this Island app 3 times in my teens. Very beautiful quiet island always felt very safe.. Loved pebbles beach. Camped at the Garrison school with my church in those early years. App 45 yrs ago. Ready to visit again and take my kids now.

Did you eventually get to return to my island last year as hoped? If you revisited the Garrison school, you would've noticed its name has been changed to Graydon Sealy Secondary School, in honor of its first principal who, sadly, recently passed. Also, if you had a chance to tour the island last year, it would surely have looked different to what you'd seen 45 years ago. There's now a highway stretching from the airport to near the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) with another branch of it continuing to the north of the island. Also, if you visited Harrison's Cave 45 years ago and then revisited it recently, you would surely have noticed a vast improvement. Of course, the cave itself has not been tampered with but its environs have had a total makeover. (Google "Harrison's Cave Barbados" for more info.) Over the years there have been several other changes but, thankfully, Barbados hasn't lost its charm. My favorite part of the island has always been Bathsheba, along the rugged and unspoilt east coast. I recommend spending a couple weeks there at a beach house. Once you do that, you'll never want to leave!
