Larga vida 💛 Barry Gibb.
@@treesieo2890 The younger sis Berri was really Andy's older sister Leslie's daughter but she lived with their parents and very close to Andy. Sadly she just passed a few months ago only in her 50s.
Beautiful Andy. If you have to take drugs to be able to handle the person you are in a relationship with.....that is a surefire sign that you are not meant to be with and should not be with that person.
These interviews are very telling - for many reasons. Mr and Mrs Gibb, while clearly devastated over Andy's death, seem unable to understand just how deeply depressed and heartbroken Andy was in his last years, to Mr Gibb making the comment about Andy's drug problem being 'Andy needing to be able to handle Victoria.' Regardless of whether Victoria did any drugs or not, the blame lies solely with Andy, and to pin it on anyone else shows how much in denial they were with regards to Andy's problems. At least when his brothers are interviewed, they all accept and understand the issues Andy faced, while also admitting the fault was solely his. It seems hard to fathom after all of these years, that in the comments of clips about Andy, numbers of people are still willing to blame everyone else but Andy. As talented and charismatic as Andy Gibb was, one has to concede he wasn't meant for the superstar life - he clearly couldn't cope with the pressures and lack of normality that his success brought, and one would have to wonder what type of life he would have had if he had the right support and people behind him. Andy's brothers were clearly a unit and had each other, and not having or sharing that same bond with anyone else would not have made Andy's life easy - but I also keep in mind he left his wife and daughter behind for the lifestyle he chose. I feel as much for them as I do for Andy and the Gibb Family, but we have to be real - Andy chose his own path, and no matter how much some say others are to blame, the truth is only Andy is to blame. He had more chances and opportunities than most in life, and it is truly sad he couldn't save himself. One can only hope he is now singing in the heavens above. RIP Andy......
He didn't struggle like his brother's. Barry wrote and accompanied him on all his songs. He couldn't do without them and didn't pay his dues like his brother's. Sad ending.

Andy quit school at 13 to do music and probably started drug use then. I am the same age as Andy drugs were a part of life for most teens in the 70s. By 19, when he had his first hit, he had been working at music for 6 years and his brother helped him reach the top of a bloodthirsty business. He simply wasn't mature enough. He was a bit like one of those kids who goes to Harvard at the age of 9. They may have the I.Q. but they aren't ready. They nearly always "fail", even when handed great jobs. Also, a large family can be wonderful but it can also be overwhelming - a younger sibling can easily lose their identity in the chaos of the large herd. I fell sorry for him.
You cannot help a person who will not accept it. At any moment he made the decision he would have had all the help of his family and the best care money could possibly buy. He never took it and he was a grown man not a child; the decision was his to make and only his. Cocaine is really, really enjoyable, I'll give him that.
What younger sister? They keep talking about another sister. I’m confused? Where is this person now? And they named their youngest child Barry as well????
Berri is Leslie’s daughter. She is actually all of the brother’s niece. She was once noted correctly in a photo with Maurice as his niece. I’m not sure what the deal was with that situation. Andy always referred to her as his sister. It seems like maybe his parents may have gotten guardianship (?) of her. Maybe she didn’t want to stay in Australia. I believe she was the first grandchild of Hugh and Barbara’s having been born in 1964. Sometimes those first grandchildren are so spoiled by the grandparents that they wind up actually living with them. It happened in my family with the oldest sister! But, again, biologically, she is/was Andy’s niece. Yes, Berri is still alive and I believe she sang on The Gibb Collective album along with Peta, RJ, Stephen, Samantha, Adam and . . . oh Robin’s oldest son, RJ’s brother. I’m totally blank!

@@Starlight-eu6kp You do understand, do you not that Andy was never a Bee Gee? He had no shine whatsoever without his brothers especially Barry. Most people like to help out a sibling or a friend and take real pleasure when they succeed. I can't imagine any way that Barry , Maurice and Robin were jealous of Andy. When someone sees jealousy and envy and other unworthy motivations where there is none it tends to say more about themselves than whoever the bad guy is in the story
