It's the personalized service and attention that people are seeking when they receive a straight razor shave. Everybody enjoys the customized service they obtain from a real live human being. One of these days before too long , robots will be able to do this but it won't be the same experience.

I tried a barber shop once, best time of my life. So relaxing. I even got to smoke a cigarette (or a cigar if I wanted to) and nobody was complaining. They even poured me a drink. It was their policy to let customers smoke if they wanted to. This was 3 years ago and I've been coming back ever since. My last visit was a week ago :p

Every move of the barber was perfection, especially in those difficult areas below the nose, around the mouth, etc. Seeing all those dark stiff whiskers come off was interesting to watch. Soothing.
Great video Mr Farzad! If I may ask, given the fact I have coarse facial hair like the young man and usually shave once a week. Do you think a feather pro guard blade would work? I am asking since I am shaving at home and not a professional I would not mind the extra protection they have as opposed to professional ones.

South Africa here. Three years back I went for a straight razor shave a local Pakistani barber shop. Needless to say I have never touched a razor since then. Apart from the close shave feeling, they also were willing to chat. We are close friends now. I have even learnt a few Arabic phrases: Asalamu alai kum...
