wow, nice and sharp! congrats, i have seen another a6500+sigma 30mm 1.4 examples but not so cleaner and sharper than this, would be nice a behind scenes video or maybe just showing which lenses you used in each shot, new sub!

Did you prefer using the 30mm over the 16mm in these barbershop conditions? They both look fantastic!

Thrash Party thank you for taking the time to check them out! 🙏 Personally (and I think a lot of people will disagree with me) I think I prefer the 30mm for the slightly more telescopic / bokeh look I can get from it. Their both great lenses but I find the 30mm to be a bit more versatile for lots of situations. Plus the 30mm works great for the talking head / interview sections too.

Awesome video man. Do you recommend a 30mm over the 16mm sigma lens as this would be my first lens i purchase over the 18-135 kit lens i have for the 6300.

Thanks Ali, appreciate it 👍🏻. I know a lot of people out there prefer the 16mm but for my personal taste, I prefer the look of the 30mm - plus it’s the most versatile of the 3 in my opinion.

How did you achieve this slowmotion video without the lights flickering at high shutter speed?

I'm in the UK (PAL) so film at 100fps instead of 120fps which (from my understanding) eliminates any flicker. I think it's to do with different refresh rates of lighting in Europe compared to the U.S. i.e - if I filmed at 100fps in the US with typical interior lights - I would then see flickering. Hope that helps!

Super rad vid, man. Very cinematic. Makes me want to go there for a haircut. So I take it you shot the interview in 4k 24p and shot the b-roll stuff in 1080? What framerate did you use for the 1080? It looks really decent! I hate the 1080 on my a6500, especially at 120fps. Honestly, I think my five year old cellphone shoots better 1080 haha.

sfusiondj Lee cheers man! Yeah the 1080 can sometimes look pretty soft - I’m in the UK so shot this at 100fps for the slomo bits and 4K 25fps for the interview section. I’ve actually just shot a 2nd vid for these guys and put it on my other channel - it’s pretty similar except I set up some lighting for the interview bit which made it come out way better: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sOPJzN7pA3Y.html

Personally, I'm kicking myself for not getting the Fuji X-T3. sfusiondj Lee Wo! Hadn’t really looked at the Fuji before you mentioned it but that guys video is incredible! Both quality wise and the subject. Your video looks amazing too - how do you find the Sigma 16mm? I’m torn between getting that or the 18-105 f4 for my 2nd lens? (Subbed you back :)

@@StuartRodwell Sweet, thanks for the sub! :D I have both the 30mm and 16mm. I've found the 16mm to have slightly better autofocus. Less hunting and a bit snappier. Image quality are more or less the same, but I keep the 16mm on my camera 95% of the time. It's a lot heavier though. Carrying it around on a gimbal is quite the workout. The new Sigma 56mm 1.4 looks super sweet as well. And it's tiny! Maybe check it out? All in all, I'd probably go for the 18-105. You won't get massive bokeh from it, but I'm dying for the versatility of a zoom lens.

Navinante I shot in the Cine4 profile which allows you to keep the iso lower than shooting in Slog. Also using a fast 1.4 Sigma lens helps!

How did you shoot in slow without flickering in low light ? Even I shoot on a6500 but it's flickering when I set it to 120fps In Low light

I’m in the UK so shoot at 100fps which fixes the issue (lights work on a different refresh rate in the UK to other countries). So I’d deffo recommend giving that a try 👍🏻
