@@neutroisking101there’s behind the scenes footage and in almost all of them the entire cast and Greta herself are seen laughing & having a good time. The bts for this scene specifically everyone is dancing inbetween takes
As someone in a wheelchair, the wheelchair Barbie dancing in her chair made me grin because it shows that everyone is equal when it comes to physical limits. Thank you Barbie for letting me feel included.
Are you kidding ? There's NO WAY this does not become a musical! LOL! All those families who went to see Frozen on broadway? Mattel is eyeing those numbers baby! I wouldnt' be surprised if some dance clubs out there don't play this on their screens for the dancers on the floor to dance along too as well. Line dancing seems to come back every decade or so..maybe...it's time again. (not talking about country line dancing, that never went away)
@@catherinesanchez1185haha exactly. I’m sure it’s already being casted, choreographed, etc now. Barbie 2 already got go ahead. Not sure what their doing with Ken in that, but gosling stole the show in this.
@@Seryma86 Barbie 2 hasn’t been confirmed - but it likely won’t happen, despite demand for a sequel. Barbie 2 doesn’t have a release date, as *it’s not even in development right now.* No one has any contractual obligation to a sequel. Margot Robbie has been involved in discussions about a follow-up, explaining to _Time Magazine_ that a sequel “could go a million different directions from this point. But I think you fall into a bit of a trap if you try and set up a first movie whilst also planning for sequels.” A potential Barbie sequel began looking less likely after recent comments from Gerwig, who told _The New York Times_ : “I wouldn’t want to squash anybody else’s dream but for me, at this moment, I’m at totally zero.” Robbie also echoed Gerwig’s sentiments, saying: “I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something.” Ryan Gosling also joined in on the discussion, stating to _Variety_ “Oh, I’m not going anywhere near that. We really know nothing.” “We have no information,” America Ferrera added as well. “I will say, what Greta and Margot have said is they did not set out to make a franchise. They put it all out on the table. Every bit of it that they loved and that they knew to do, they did. Which is refreshing, right? We’re not setting it up for 20 years of ‘Barbie’ movies.
3:12 Gosh I love Margot Robbie, her acting skills are on point when she was dancing confusingly for what just happened. Also the fact that she’s literally playing as Barbie is phenomenal.
That cut scene at 1:10 is really good! The transition with dancers crossing the screen, add a whoosh sound effect, then the beat drops and Margot does that cool dance move while looking directly at camera. Very good.
I think for women, this scene is so hypnotic because it represents what most of us want. A fun, innocent night. Everyone dresses up and does their hair and makeup. No one is criticized for their body. There's room for everyone to exist. No one is in competition. There is no sex, drugs, or alcohol. Everyone's in a good mood. Everything's sparkling. The music is on point. It's like the ultimate dance/slumber party we all dreamed of having (and probably never got to). Instead of this, we had parents who told us to be quiet and have the lights out by nine. We had older brothers and dads who made comments about our bodies so we didn't want to dress up. We had that one girl who told us our eyeshadow didn't match and that our hair was frizzy... Barbie never made us feel like crap. Humans did.
And then you switch off your tv or phone, and realise that everything in the movie was fake and reality is starkly different than fiction. Btw, I have found more women pulling down other women than men
I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but this movie gives me the same feelings that the live action Flinstones does. The costume, the actors, the visuals, it’s all so stunning!
I came in expecting the unexpected for this movie. Well, mostly a good laugh before I go into Oppenheimer. I was seeing pink for more than 24 hours before watching Oppenheimer and then I was seeing atoms and fire 😂😂😂
Best part of the whole film! I had actual tears! Such a fun moment, Allan and forever-pregnant Midge dancing alone in their own separate shots sends me every time 🤣 Also the confliction within Ken to be different than the rest of the Kens is so palpable in his mockery of his current circumstance here; hilarious yet heartbreaking. Lots of thoughts going on in a small moment! A truly unique scene
My mom has a Ken doll from when she was little only all of the clothes are missing. She and my step-dad took turns hiding it when they went to bed for one of them to find the next morning and it was awesome …then she, my aunt, and I saw this movie and SURPRISE, IT WAS AN ALLAN DOLL THE ENTIRE TIME xD
Pete wife here my hubby 2 yrs ago lost his leg and is usually in wheelchair cause his prosthetic leg hurts after an hour anyway we both loved wheelchair Barbie dancing scene the chair even screamed Barbie but her dancing slayed it gave my hubby confidence to get on dance floor at annual Xmas dance this past Xmas he didn’t do as well as her but we both grateful that he got to have some fun on the floor and I told him just practice u will get as good as her
I don't think it is possible to be a living, breathing, human and not come home and practice the "combine harvester", "double hand clap" and " both arms above the head body twist" moves in front of the mirror the next time you hear the song. Human will power is strong, but no one can resist choreography this fun.
It's so good because Ryan's Ken gets so angry afterwards cuz he can't. And then there's the hilarious scene later when he admits he's jealous of Simu Ken because "Ken's so cool" to which Barbie says "he's not cool" and Ryan Ken says "he is to me".
I literally played with my dolls like this as a little girl.. always had them at parties and had 2 Kens fighting for the main Barbie each time. 😄 Brings back memories.
Kinda reminds me of that scene in Toy Story 3 with Barbie and Ken, the villain says to him "why do you care? There are millions of Barbie's just like her" and Ken goes "Not to me, there's not". 🥰😂
For some reason at 1:48 he looks more stiff though. Like he’s just moving his arm from right to left while the others are doing more of a wave, looks more fluid
I remember watching this in the theater and almost being moved to tears by this sequence alone. I've never seen so many women so happy and confident in a movie scene in my life, and the fact that every shot, every costume, all the makeup, and everyone looked so perfect on top of it... it was so moving.
I definitely had the happy-to-emotional tears flowing, what added to the tears was Kens confliction to be different than the rest of the Ken(s). He’s nearly mocking his place within all of it to be close to Barbie somehow. Hilarious yet heartbreaking
I'm someone that loves dancing and watching musical scenes. I was so excited when I heard that there would be a whole dance scene with Dance The Night and it didn't disappoint. I was living, ascending because of the happiness that the scene transmitted and it also made me realise how much I love dancing and music.
This is instantly one of my favorite dance numbers Everyone makes it look so effortless and they all look like they're having a blast It really does feel like it's just an actual party among friends So fun!!
I'm an old metal head but I love this song and dance. My favorite part of the movie! Shhhhh... Don't tell anyone though. I have a reputation to protect.
What’s so sad is so many people can’t see past all the satire the movie has. It’s practically all satire, with a lot of very human scenes, and a great cast. Honestly one of the few 10/10 movies once you have a good enough sense of humor to get past the satire and not make it a political thing and just a really fun movie!
Agreed, it's not 10 out of 10 as a movie perse, but making a Barbie movie like it is now, meaning not just going for the easy cheesy movie buying off the name...that's a real 10 out of 10 for me
it's definitely my favorite scene honestly😭😭😭when this song started playing the whole cinema hall just stood up and started dancing, probably one of the most beautiful memories of mine!
Which cinema did you go to? That's cringe af and sucks. I want my immersive experience with the film, not you lot dancing. @@FakefulandDisgracedSlaveClass
This may sound ridiculous but this scene makes me cry because of how adorable it is 😢 it was the most memorable after watching it for the first time (plus the song is so catchy)
It was my favorite segment from the whole movie. They know how to bust a move and their jokes left me in stitches! I am just dying to dance some more! The dancers were im perfect synch!
The whole movie is so well put together but this scene is mesmerizing. Perfect actress/actor to play Barbie and Ken it’s exactly what I would expect of a Barbie movie 🖤
What I love is that they created this world and actually USED it unlike so many other films that do this crossover thing and then have the fantasy characters travel to the real world (either New York or LA) and the whole film is set there. But here they reversed it, yes they did travel to the real world but they didn't stay there. I was so happy.
I'm obsessed with Margot Robbie's expressions at 3:14... The back & forth between the choreographed blissful grin from before and a "What just happened?" dreadful grimace is just incredible. Phenomenal acting.
the dance choreography in the film is incredible. i really think the oscars should add categories for casting, stunt work/choreography, and for dance choreography. these people deserve their flowers. plus, that big woman can move. seriously. i'd like to dance with her. i saw this in theaters and i really enjoyed the film. it was one of the best film experiences i've been to. the screening i went was filled with largely women with a lot of them wearing pink as i was one of the few guys there but i was wearing a black sabbath t-shirt just to freak people out. yet, at the end. i was called "heavy metal ken" which i'd take as a compliment.
The Casting Society was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1982 as a professional society of about 1,200 casting directors and associate casting directors for film, television, theatre, and commercials in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa, and the United States. Since October 1985, the Casting Society has presented the *Artios Awards* for excellence in casting. Members are honored in over 25 different casting categories in film, television, and theater in simultaneous events held in Beverly Hills, New York City and London. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences once had an Academy Award for Best Dance Direction from 1935 to 1937. It was discontinued as the Directors Guild of America took offense to the use of the term "direction," which they believed should be reserved for the overall guidance of the film. The World Choreography Awards in film, television, and commercials has been held since 2015.
@@fabianfleitas5499 "You saved Earth, G'iah. Thank you." "Of course I did, Fury. It's my home too. I got the idea from some raccoon guy I met a couple years back. It's funny to think that a danceoff saved a planet twice..."
Margot Robbie as a real person embodies Barbie in a very positive role model for young girls and women. She is beautiful, intelligent, physically strong.... she seems almost perfect.
We are going to remember Barbie and 2023 as we remember Star Wars and 1977 and The Graduate and 1967 or Back To The Future and 1985 or The Shining and 1980. One film defined the year.
1:40 realmente la actuación de ken con ryan es bastante notable, su entrada, su baile, ví esta película con muy pocas expectativas, pero me equivoqué es super entretenida
so glad this movie was made me think a whole lot differently than i used to and just a overall fun good one , 10/10 movie for me ryan gosling was just perfect for the comedic role of ken and margot robbie did her thing as well
