First off... Congrats on your purchase! I think this fashion package is cute! I really like all the pieces. HOWEVER, I don't mean to be the rain cloud that dampens the parade... but Mattel has lost their ever loving minds with that $50 dollar price point. That is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! Real talk! For that price, there should have been at least one after five outfit, or maybe an elegant evening gown WITH METAL SNAPS!! I honestly don't know who's green lighting a lot of decisions at Mattel these days. This three pack as it stands should not have costs no more than $29.99 at the most. I feel like I just witnessed a robbery. I wanna call the police!
@Vincent Paré Oh, they are trippin FOREAL with the "quality" and prices! When you have another toy company (MGA) producing REAL QUALITY for waaaaay less... That's a problem for Mattel. The majority of those dolls are $50 each, and now they're charging $50 for a few flimsy basic clothing pieces with plastic snaps?? Ummm... It's a HARD NO for me!
I fully agree Mattel has gotten to a point that their quality is lower than that of clone dolls yet the prices keep rising and people feel like they need to justify it...
Thank you so much tor this detailed review. The clothes are super cute. The price though...isn't quite cute. But definitely getting this fashion packs. 😂
So glad you showed this item. It is the only thing I was interested in from the movie items ( right now anyway) I really like the boxing and fashions but I do not have a doll that would work so will probably pass on them. Really liked how they looked on your doll. The price seems pretty reasonable for movie items. Thanks again for showing these out of the box. Take care!
You mentioned it, but it KILLS ME that the doors don't open, and two outfits are in one box and one outfit is in one box. Like WHAT?! The pajamas are shockingly adorable with the raised dots. But then the blue and white dress has printed details. Like WHAT?! I like the back of the gingham outfit, but who poses their dolls from the back? You'll never see it! It's way overpriced. And I purchased Silkstone fashion packs back in the day.
Thank you for the video! I like that I can see these before they arrive to me! I love these, specially the blue outfit, but the pjs are surprisingly cute too! I want to sew clothes for dolls someday, but the scale makes it actually harder than sewing for humans. think Im not your usual audience, because I read the comments and I guess the general opinion is that the price is awful... but I actually think this is a great price. $17 per set is fine, fashion packs, at least when I was growing up in the 90s were around $10, and that was maybe 20 or 25 years ago, so $17 is pretty good to me.
This video was so relaxing to watch, I liked the background music choice and how you spoke a bit softly. ^_^ The outfits in this fashion pack are SO CUTE…but I personally don’t feel comfortable paying the current retail price for these… maybe someday they’ll go on sale, assuming there will be any left in stock by that time. 😅
To be honest I find it very mediocre for such a price, the fabrics all are cheap and the detail is not really there, the styles are nice but at 20 Dollars it would be already overpriced, let alone 50 or the 75 Euros they're asking in Europe...
@@somelikeitvntg But why? They own the property they're also releasing the movie to promote their product so the movie is basically a glorified commercial and they are already profiting off that as well, if anything don't you think the movie merchandise should be a bit cheaper as it is basically a nod to their ad? I mean cotton and satin and thermo sealed edges on printed fabric don't scream collector to me... compare the pieces, fabrics and the amount of detail to a fashion avenue fashion pack and not even in the same league, fashion avenue had painted accesories fabric purses and more level of detail in fabric choices and pattern of the garments for a lower price. Even worse if you were to compare to what other brands are selling nowadays for a way lower price... You are basically paying for the Barbie brand name despite it not being quality anymore... (Edited for typos XDDDD)
Movie merch is never cheap. Terrible EU prices I agree. Fashion avenue was 20 something years ago so It’s not the best when comparing prices to what we have now. It’s also hard to compare with other brands because not many brands are releasing fashion packs. Disney is the only one I can think of with fashion packs and their like $15 a pack. Disney packs are detailed but I dont like the designs. I agree this barbie pack could be better. Designs are a pro but materials are a con. Hopefully RH releases some fashion packs so mattel can compete with more fashion packs on the market 🤞
@@alessa8742 Why would I consider myself lucky? I don't need nor want any of these fashions and certainly I wouldn't buy them for even half of the American price, for that money I'd rather buy some other doll related things... If they are also so expensive in Brazil maybe you should get something else too... Save your money for good quality stuff don't fall for the hype. Also the European prices are higher than in the US so your math makes no sense...
The yellow shoe is a reused mold. I have it in light pink but don't remember exactly where it came from. Either a Fashionista or Advent calendar. The ankle strap has a tendency to split. Most of the ones I find available in lots are split, as are mine.
Ugh - the prices on the Movie items! I remind myself to think of the video I saw on why Barbie stuff wasn't expensive (looking at inflation) and comparing it to prices for other dolls (like Rainbow/Shadow HIgh and OMG), but it's a hard pill to swallow. To be fair, the pack is way cheaper than if you bought the same look off Etsy, even if the quality isn't the same. What would have been even better than the box just opening like a closet is if it opened up like that and was a triptych box - a fashion on each door and one across the back - so you could actually just set it open as a display! The blank space in that one was kind of awkward, but at least they didn't cram a @#^@#% pet in there LOL! I've seen some other reviews of this set, and can't remember off the top of my head which dolls they used - I thought one used the first movie doll and another used Heidi Looks and others - but their video showed problems with fit. Looked perfect on your Millie, though! I would warn anyone buying the set to watch a few videos on it to see if it will fit the dolls they plan to use it on. I love the vintage repros and Mikelman Charice/Charisse dolls, and that is what I would want the set for, but from what I've seen, it won't fit them. I've heard people complain about the PJ outfit, but it is so cute on the right doll! When it fits well, I can almost see her at the slumber party in Grease lol
@@somelikeitvntg I see videos who take Barbie heads off and put on another body I was shocked how they could do it I have Barbies I just leave them alone some I took out of boxes I take tide a tiny pit of tide add warm water in pan and use clean white hand cloth on over her body clothes and hair I use hair dryer on her all over and bush her hair
These are such cute fashions, a little lost at the cost…. But it’s Mattel and unfortunately they will do anything to get an extra buck😢….but I love Barbie ❤
Hello, the pajama is a good fit for TNT body. The blue and white dress is a *tight* fit but it will fit. And the pink gingham outfit does not fit the bust of TNT body unfortunately.
I spend good money on doll outfits over dolls a lot. I love the vintage fashions for Barbie, and many of them are expensive when you find them complete. I am just as much a doll fashions collector as I am a doll collector.
