Wow! You do a wonderful job of restoration on the faces and hair. You selection of the white boots with the silver outfit is outstanding. You have a huge talent for choosing the right things.
The hair to me is the biggest thumbs down, my vintage blonde Midge's hair just stays perfect the way it is, curls and bangs in place without all that gel, the hair fiber nowadays sucks.
Haha, I just pulled mine out of the draw to have a look at her feet. Mine has a very small imperfection on her right foot and slightly worse on her left. Very annoying for you though. I suppose there are doll restorers out there who could probably do a good job at repairing her if it concerns you.
I don't like the feeling of looking for a doll to get. I think in general it would be good to find ways to enjoy the hobby without always having to spend money or fill up space. So yeah I understand that annoying cycle. I generally just collect things I like (not a completionist) but I try hard to really ask myself if the doll I'm looking at will actually please me. I'm not really a big Barbie collector because I'm still trying to figure out what I want out of a Barbie collection. But I saw the new Sapphire BFMC and I decided to get her. She will be my first BFMC doll and though she's not actual vintage, I like the vibe and I have an appreciation for Silkstones so I look forward to having my first and very own.
I love the superstar Barbies too and like you, I am finding fewer of them in thrift stores. When they are just $1 I buy them as I love making then recreations of their original outfits. Love your videos!!
18:46 there is a mary jane barbie shoe mold! i’m not sure how well they’d fit pj but i’ve definitely seen some on some 2000’s barbie’s. the diy is super cute tho
So sorry about you're roof problem. I recently got 2 1980s maxie dolls. And a 1990s beach skipper doll. Both are in good condition. The hair on both dolls is long and thick.
I hope the roof problem will get fixed up and you won't experience any more trouble there! Love the way your interior designing your nest, the Malibu PJ is gorge. My Glam N Groom Barbie from 1999/2000 has black Mary Janes like those you made but that's the only instance of legit Mattel made Barbie Mary Janes in that style I remember off the top of my head.
Wow ! You even do zippers!I found a barbie round clock at Burlington for only $9!Love the calendar!Im mostly vintage but i couldnt resist Ken in the fur coat from the movie !!! I actually have some mary jane shoes and I really dont remember where I got them.
I am so sorry that happened to your roof Manny! I'm glad it is getting sorted now though! The presents are gorgeous and perfect for you!!! The styling of all the dolls as usual is on point, but you already knew that!!!!
Beautiful finds! You did a great job cleaning them up and redressing them. I love rescuing Barbies!! The flea market is the best!! My daughter and I go to the Nashville Flea Market.
I just found you today. I love the original Barbie and Ken and their early fashions so much. Looking forward to watching your other Barbie videos. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
I would love to see women collecting train, sets the most popular ones like the Lionel trainers set up a town I used to play with my brothers when he let me
Thank you for keeping your reviews honest and authentic, and I really like how you went over every detail and your videos are very calm and tranquil. I was watching while doing my office work you got yourself a new subscriber.
Really enjoyed your video, I know I'm late to comment I did watch when you first posted it. I just wanted to share with you i did load a video of vol 2 barbie fashion book like a year ago might be helpful to you in the meanwhile you are able to buy your own book. Also do you own any Hong Kong lilli or it's just the lanka ones?.
Oh my, I can design such cute and cool dolls but I don't have such a steady hand that what I paint would be good enough to sell for the money. There are a lot of us out there with so much talent but when I have offered it to Mattel and Hasbro they said no.
love this kind of video, i was doin the laundry and just such lovely and calm vibes from this! wishing you luck in your new place, love your display already !
Missed you but I understand multiple changes can be a challenge! I've recently had an issue with a vintage reproduction Francie's shoes cracking. They were only ever put on her feet and displayed Also a 90's Kelly I unboxed and dressed ... her shoes split as well. Is this common and do you know how to prevent it from happening or any fixes?
I’ve never had shoes crack, but if the dolls are from the 90s, its probably do to age. Also too much sun exposure can weaken plastic, so make sure the sun isnt shining directly on to your displays.
Reference books and especially the older copies of doll magazines are pretty much ignored by new collectors nowadays…which they missed a lot in terms of learning and honing their knowledge…they only rely on the internet…there’s a ton of informations and reference photos in books and magazines that you cannot find on the internet…
@@somelikeitvntg Yep, I actually use vintage Barbie clothes on the porcelain versions. It can be a tight fit. I have a Registered Nurse outfit on the Blonde 1959 porcelain version and it devastates me. I have about 20 of 1959 bride version dolls in a cabinet dressed in vintage clothes and outfits I have sewn myself. Some days I can't make it out of the house bc I am paralyzed by the beauty, I just lay on the floor and weep in front of them. JK 🤣
