Lyrics:
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd but you a house ( I would buy you a house)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd buy you furniture for your house ( maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd but you a K-car ( a nice reliant automobile)
If I had a 1,000,000, I'd buy you love
If I had a 1,000,000
I'd build a treefort in our yard
If I had a 1,000,000
You could help it wouldn't be that hard
If I had a 1,000,000
Maybe we could put a refrigerator in there
Wouldn't that be fabulous!
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I but you a fur coat( but not a real fur coat that's cruel)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd buy you an exotic pet(like a llama or an emu)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd but you John Merick's remains (All them crazy elephant bones)
If I had a 1,000,000 I'd buy your love
If I had a 1,000,000
We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I had a 1,000,000
We'd take a limousine cause it costs more
If I had a 1,000,000 We wouldnt have to eat Kraft dinner
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
i'd but you a green dress ( but not a real green dress that's cruel)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd but you some art ( A Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd buy you a monkey (haven't you always wanted a monkey?)
If I had a 1,000,000 If I had a 1,000,000 If I had a 1,000,000
If I had a 1,000,000 I'd be RICH!

More time has now passed between this video and today, than between this video and when the song was first released. We're all so old, yet this song remains eternal.

I saw them live 3 x. Once ina wheelchair after major knee surgery and the one who plays the lead guitar ran down and handed me his guitar pick. That was in NC,In the 90’s . I still have the pick saved safe in my jewelry box! I’ll never get rid of it!! I saw them twice in nc and once in NJ where we live now. I wish I could see them again. I could go to a million of their concerts jand each would be fabulously different from the others and great!! I’m glad I wasn’t a kid and in my 30’s when I saw them each time. I was able to enjoy them a lot more than concerts I saw as a teen and in my 20’s. I was able to appreciate them much more being older and more mature as with Billy Joel and Heart in my early 20’s , I remember so little of those concerts it’s almost as if I never went!! Going to concerts at older ages I find more rewarding! Plus BNL give one hell of a show. It’s like a comedy show thrown into the music concert. You never know what to expect and my face hurt from laughing so much!!! Some of the best times my husband and I had without our kids! I want more!

I've only ever seen BNL in concert twice, both times from when Steven Page was still in the lineup. After the first experience I was in agony from laughter over whatever the hell it was that I just saw. After the second one I was in agony from hollering along at the top of my lungs and leaping around like a crazed madman. I'm English, I'm reserved and quiet. We don't do that. I make it a rule to never sing in public. Yet somehow they made me shed off all my inhibitions, clown around like a gibbering loon and they gave me one of the best experiences of my life to date. Simply outstanding.

The Barenaked Ladies became famous when Barbara Hall banned them from city hall because of their name. I seem to be banned from many places and get handcuffed by police and security guards. Why were they really banned? How come they performed at City Hall in 2017 without being killed, attacked, handcuffed etc?
