Hi thank for your video , the vortex look very good . If you have tarnish on the a2 steel you can remove that with a metal polish . That work good with my bravo 1 in a2 . Ciao

Not many videos on the Bravo Vortex out there. Thanks for making this one. If Bark River comes out with a run of this knife in 3V, I'll be more inclined to purchase one.

Let me tell you this, and it’s the honest truth. Anyone that gets in a knife fight always loses- both sides. No one comes out ahead, unless you stab someone in the back or someone who does not have a knife. I’ve seen a lot of people get cut up with a razor, or an ice pick type weapons and die. The only way someone could come out ahead is if the opponent does not have a knife or is stabbed in the back. I even seen someone take a knife from someone trying to stab him and stab the assailant with his own knife. So carrying a gun is always the best option when it comes to defending yourself.

TheLankyWoodsman - I saw that you had a side arm. Good choice. And good decision to run if someone wants to have a knife fight with you and you don’t have a gun. Better to be alive then to be a fool and fight someone with a knife.

TheLankyWoodsman - I would hope it would only be if you have an avenue of escape and no one else’s life would be in danger. Remember the officer who did not go into the school in Florida during the active shooter. He is now facing several criminal charges for not doing anything. Now as a civilian you’re not obligated. But as a law enforcement officer you are. But I just couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t do anything and I could have. Just food for thought.

if others are in danger is a different story...i suppose i was only thinking of a knife fight being between one other and myself. there are many things to keep in mind. I have seen videos of someone going to stop a shooter, not realizing another shooter was right near him and he was shot in the back of the head without even seeing the 2nd person. i have family to care for, but if i can make a difference i certainly wouldnt hesitate.

From your experience, as take one camping/bushcrafting knife would you recommend this one or your bushcrafter? I do axe+knife combo. Or would you recommend a smaller bark river?

I believe in a combo. I bring my Bravo Survivor for chopping and larger tasks, my Bushcrafter for bushcrafting and camping tasks, and my JX6 for my EDC.

TheLankyWoodsman thank you for your reply. It's such a hard choice. Bark river have some amazing designs. Now I'm torn between bravo 1, and bravo vortex. Vortex is so tempting because of that sheath. A lot of people complain about the old sheath. But I feel like smaller blade of bravo 1 will be more appropriate for my use. Anyway, it's a good problem to have. All the best!

I live in Canada and the selection of Barkriver knives on Canadian websites are lacking a little bit, I'm just wondering if the bravo 2 would be fine to use instead of a Bravo survivor? also, do u recommend the Bushcrafter over the bravo vortex? I'm a backcountry camper and never owned a good knife and could use advice from someone who knows and owns a few Barkriver knives.
