Great work Phil! Cannot believe how quickly you work! The shade of green looks fantastic on that body. I can understand the preference for a black interior, but I think brown would look really 70s against that green. Then add some 70s style brown and orange body graphics and you will have a full blown retro shaggin wagon!
Nice work and massive progress.Slightly bigger 15" Performance Challengers or Minilites would be a perfect fit.Black interior with series 1 rx7 black and white plaid inserts would be nice and period looking.Either way your style is Rad. Cheers for the content.
The first thing I ever customized was my bicycle and I did it in bright green & white. Such a great color scheme. I think black interior would be awesome personally now after seeing that green.
Looks amazing well done! Vote 1 for the black interior. I’m painting my 323 yellow and decided to go black interior too it was originally brown it clashed with the bright body colour too much.
@@Phil_Bennett Hi mate, I took the fuel flap into the paint supplier to scan as I really liked the way the original YG yellow had faded and the colour match came back as Vauxhall Corsa yellow, go figure. So I went with that, it's bright but has a pastel retro flavour to it I really like it. I got some black LX Recaros with red plaid inserts from GTX garage, seeing these cars got plaid in some colours standard I thought it could look good and it looks awesome, so I will get the rear and door trims re-done with some red plaid inserts too. I see your car originally had blue plaid seats, black LX Recaros with blue plaid would look insane with your green I reckon. I'm sure GTX garage would make them for you, they get them done in Thailand and do custom orders.
Satin Black interior with Tan accents, Semi gloss Black Wheels with metallic flecks of gold, tinted windows either Black or gold would look sweet. (my opinion only with the colour choice) Looking sweet as though man, hope to see it on our streets, cheers
It's looking pretty schmick. That colour is certainly going to stand out on the road :) Love watching this build from rough old barn find, although in relatively good nick, to "quick" turn around into something really nice :) The time lapse is cool, it adds to the experience of watching, it helps to see the job coming together, which is great to see :) Those wheels in white will definitely make for a great contrast I reckon :) A brown interior is certainly of the period, but I'm not sure how that would go with the bright green, too much like the 70's me thinks, an era of bad taste. I know, I grew up in the 70's, hehe :P Black with plaid inserts, as others have mentioned, would also look period I reckon, but much more aesthetically appealing, in my opinion at least :P With green highlights to match the paint would look pretty cool I think :) My first car was a '74 929, silver, with a full black interior, looked pretty good I thought. I had that in an era, early 80's, when cars were predominantly made with all grey interiors, a couple of decades later black interiors started making a resurgence, now black interiors are as common as grey was over that period. Must be something with black that has more appeal.
Commenting @ one second in, but I'm guessing by the thumbnail you're going for the Dick Johnston/Palmer Tube Mills XE Falcon livery. Very bold! Now, to watch and see how right I am
Colour really pops! Especially when you see the drab grey silver it was (obviously would be nice redone also ) the browns always grew on me when i had ford falcons and my Gemini wagon has buckskin(beige brown ) white would probably be insane but likely hard to live with (i remember seeing goss special XB falcon coupe with white interior ) Good luck with the glass search and thanks for sharing the spray time lapse. What are the pros and cons of hanging versus flat door painting?
The cons are it's easier for the paint to run if they're hanging, panels lying flat usually you can put it on wetter and flatter. However this Valspar paint is really consistent, there wasn't really any difference, I'm heaps stoked with this paint I'll be using it more for sure
@@Phil_Bennett nice! cons for me on a flat panel is dragging the hose of the spray gun over it , probably bugs landing in it also(not likely in a booth i guess)
