of course we'd love to see a time lapse! (you'd probably enjoy watching it back too in a year or so time) but, loving these quick updates, explaining what's done and what steps you did. every little bit of info gives us a bit of confidence to have a go ourselves. (love the idea of a quick fix, just want to drive it.. it's how a lot of builds should be done as it prevents unfinished projects down the track) awesome project, thanks for sharing!
So much better just getting it done and enjoying it, big builds have their place but I'm so keen to cruise 😎 definitely have a go yourself best way to learn that's how I got where I am! I agree I watch the time lapse of the rx7 I painted now and then and it's pretty satisfying! I'll charge the gopro haha
Sure, the magic of editing, but epic progress! You could say... you've put a massive dent in the build. Personal preference, but no go-pro footage necessary I don't think. This vid proved it by being to the point, and with clear and ample progress. If you're editing vids for upload at 1:30am, adding go-pro footage into the mix just means you'll be up even later.
@@Phil_Bennett Cheers for the reply. Yep its a four door, I've been doing a panel at a time to try minimise the mess and smell but I'm close to the point of getting the body into high build now. Been a learning curve on finding a good gun set up with a small compressor, I converted my Devilbiss FLG from a 1.3 to a primer gun with a 1.8 tip and now using a LVLP R500 cheapo for top coat which works really well with less orange peel and overspray. I watched a lot of reviews on the R500, it suits a backyarder like me. I'm just doing direct gloss in the factory yellow colour. Keep up the great work mate, your vids help with my motivation and I'm sure others. Cheers
Not normally one to comment, but love the quick progress videos! What's the epoxy base coat you use? I recently sprayed some guards on my '78 corolla wagon but didn't use any form of sealer before primer and I can very faintly see the edges of the bog
Thanks for the comment! High build primer filler even 2 pack, isn't meant to go straight over bare metal, or bare metal spots. The Epotec epoxy primer is designed to adhere to and seal off the metal. By using a wet on wet hardener, you can apply the primer straight over the top, straight away, instead of having to let the epoxy cure completely and then sand it down before applying primer. It just makes for a nicer job in the long run, and can help with shrinkage also. It sounds to me like you have some shrinkage if you can see the bog outline which can be normal over time. You should be able to polish it out 🙂
