I do that move you call the "Skatie" too! In ballroom dancing it is called "The Grapevine". Someone, at one of the rinks, told me that that move is also called "The Grapevine" but just a different version than the one you teach in your other video. Thank you for these videos. I'm presently trying to learn the Barrel Roll but the "Jamskate" version. Funny thing is that my friend, just last weekend, who's a figure skater, was showing me the version of the Barrel Roll that you are doing above but I said that doesn't look like what I'm use to seeing! Now, I understand why!
Ah, I was watching a higher level class do a closed turn at a figure circle transition! I was describing it to an artistic friend, now I know what the center move is called. It looks so effortlessly graceful. This and a 3 turn is what I want to learn next. It’s definitely a more awkward position. You could try the position holding onto a chair so you can feel and get the muscle memory of the foot placement. It’s definitely not an easy one. xx
Hi Skatie, I already have a "Skaties Snake Walk" and now I have a "Skaties Barrel Roll" to add to my workout. I ice skate (no roller rinks here) but inside and outside edge works the same on the ice! Thanks Friend!
