#barrelbackbuild was started back in 2015 inspired from my friends from the yachting community. This boat was a dream of mine when I was 20. Many years and many hands helped complete this build and she was named after my father who passed away from a work accident midway through the build of this boat.
Its a glen l barrelback 19' plan but stretched to a 20'. powered by a 4.3 ltr v-6 mercruiser with a Borg Warner 1:1 gearbox and a 12x12 prop, she cruises at a top speed of 65 kmh.
materials: vertical grain clear Douglas fir for the framing and vertical grain clear western red cedar for the hull and finally wrapped in sapele (african mahogany)
most of the footage is done with a DJI mavic mini drone controlled from in the boat. an interesting task to say the least.
When I first wanted to build this boat there was a serious lack of finished footage on these. So I wanted to share mine completed to help others with their direction of build.
