This is a great one. These really are competitors. All around the same proof which is relatively high. Not finished but loaded with classic bourbon flavors. I understand why it was tough to rank these. Glad to see you both had the same winner and it was definitive. Nice job boys!
Great show fellas! Thanks for taking my suggestion. All great bottles there. Some of my favorites. I'm a bit surprised Rare Breed showed so low, but thats why you blind. Until the next one. Cheers guys.🥃
@@mattschmitt9924 you and I both…. We miss guesses all our bottles… in its defence…. That was the end of our bottle of rare breed that we had… so that may have made a difference… but a great choice for battle…. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Great one good thing you did this save me some coin for other barrels I have a couple of barrell variants the seagrass probably being my favorite just got the barrell foundation first sips it was ok but being able to get rare breed for about the same amount would pick that over the foundation. Good review and OGD 114 if you can get it is a solid pour any day of the week.
Never had Barrel Batch but the other three would be impossible to answer because it would always depend on the day and mood which I liked better and even then it would be had to say. RB, OF1920, and OGD114 are superb on any day of the week. You mention price. My experience is under $20 is often drinkable to bad with a handful of gems. $20+ $50 is reliably drinkable and a matter of preference. $50+ to $100 very good stuff more often than not so it is very much a matter of taste. $100+ you're not getting anything extra just availability, marketing, reputation. $1000+ you are paying for exclusivity not quality. $50 to $100 is a good range for exploration, unlikely to get something you absolutely hate so long as you do some research online to get an idea of the flavor profile but you do risk getting something you regret money wise much more so than the $20-$50 range which I might be disappointed but satisfied enough to have tried. Of course under $20 is always great because coke or a good dose of lemon and sugar in a whiskey sour will hide just about anything bad.
@@user-zx9jq4pv1w right… always mention price… cause it is great when a $30 beats a $100+ bottle in a blind…. But the fun of having a collections is trying them all and see how the hold up…
