The two artists are far apart in this rendition (IMO)…The Bee Gee’s are more “airy” …Al Green🙌🏽blows the emotions away …hands down!

THIS is the first song the Bee Gee's wrote when they got back together after their 15 month breakup in 69 to show how much they had broken each other's hearts with bad feelings and immature behavior. It was a way to mend their relationships❤

Barry don't stand a chance against Al. I remember hearing the Bee Gees version as I was waiting in the doctor's office. I said to the woman who was also waiting, "I know they did it first, but this is Al Green's song." She smiled and nodded in agreement. 😄 Check out FOR THE GOOD TIMES! Or "So Glad You're Mine."

Quick trivia on this song. The song was written by Barry and Robin Gibb, and it was their song in 1971 first. That’s why I said the other day you hadn’t heard their old stuff yet. And they’ve got stuff much older.

This song came on the radio as I was driving to the airport after leaving my sister’s death bed, and it BROKE ME. Still does. I’ve always loved the original Bee Gees version, but Al Green’s is the one that tears me apart. I listen when I need a good soul-cleansing cry. Thanks for covering it. Al Green is the epitome of a soul singer. This song is a cover of a Bee Gees song. Al did his version not too long after this became a hit for the Bee Gees.
