Remember thawne said in their first fight that "it was mother's destiny to die that night" he wouldn't have known that if the flash didnt have a conversation with him that its a fixed point in time and rf said in the finale he is from A future were things were slightly different thats why he is a paradox in time.He is a variant from another timeline somewhat😂

@@ccelite3782Actually, the entire timeline in Season 3 is a paradox. When RF killed Barry's mother again and brought Barry back to the present, he just ran away and didn't get stuck in the year 2000. So he never built the particle accelerator. The events of Season 3 cannot exis

Thank you for reviewing this correctly. For me the question is whether Wallace did this on purpose or if we, the fans, know the lore so well that we are able to force this to work in canon. I say this because I can totally see Wallace's intent being that this is what happened in S1. He's wrong, but I can see him trying to make this happen.

@scrumt9284 The events of S9's retelling of it show this is the post-Crisis version of events. The way it *originally* happened was that 2024 OG Barry was fighting Thawne alongside Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, and The Atom during a Crisis/red-skies event. Eobard finally learns Flash's identity as Barry Allen and goes back in time to the year 2000 to kill Barry as a kid, not knowing that would sever his ties to the Reverse Speed Force. Barry follows him and they both emerge from a portal and then "The Night" happens. S9's version is different in that OG Thawne is already in the year 2000 and meets Barry there. My question, therefore, is whether Eric Wallace was aware of the differences or inadvertently retconned what actually happened - Wallace either was intentionally doing a post-Crisis version, or he only understood the events of "The Night" superficially and he legit thought he "closed a loop" without realizing that made no sense. It's honestly hard to tell with him and his writing team since they *can* churn out good things.

@@ShinySephiroth1 I was under the impression that the flash we see fighting Thawn being the OG flash at all was purely speculation and theory in the first place. And that this just confirmed or at the very least retconned that and turned it into a closed loop. Also, retcons aren’t necessarily bad writing, I think. I never assumed as an absolute that the flash fighting thawn on the night of the murder had to be OG flash in the first place, because why would I? I’m maybe missing something, or forgot. It’s been a while.

@scrumt9284 I think that might be what Wallace intended, which is why I made post about people in the fandom fixing that thought. With my previous post, it shows that if that is Wallace's intent that the previously established lore contradicts it. Retconning things without trying to make it fit into canon is lazy writing and disrespectful to the audience because it tells them they wasted their time listening to the story. It's the same thing as stating in S1 of a show that the main villain was from Mars but then in S9 saying they were from Venus and pretending the Mars plot point never existed. I'm just glad that, if this was the case and it was the intent of closing a loop that didn't exist (see my previous comment about why it doesn't work as a loop originally - it *now* is a loop, though) that what was shown wasn't too broken and we can still force it into the pre-established lore. :)

Also remember, Original Timeline Flash is from Earth-1. Current Flash is on Earth-Prime, and Harry Wells and Cisco did say in season 3 that different Earths have different timelines. According to Gideon, there are about 3.725 trillion changes to reality as a result of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. This night having some but only subtle changes.

@@Truelink41 of course it is. As the comment here said, S7 Barry demonstrated to be way faster than future RF. We are talking about even seeing RF in slow motion. And the RF we see in this episode is even slower, since he is a past version of that S7 RF. So yes Barry should be much faster than him. What you said about coming first doesn't make sense taking into account the improvement of both speedsters and the point of their stories in which this scene happens.

The most major thing would be Nora’s death if Barry had succeeded in persuading thawne not to go through with his plan to kill him , one could assume that the OG time line could have played out like it had prior. This timeline we’ve seen was mainly caused by Nora’s death but another reason was thawne needed the flash to be created a lot sooner then he was in he’s timeline as stated when thawne took wells body by saying to him you and you’re wife successful launched the particle accelerator in 2020 but if I’m going to get back I need it to happen a lot sooner. Those 2 things changed the timeline drastically as in the original timeline one could only assume Nora was alive Tess and wells were aswell the PA launched in 2020 Barry kid was named Dawn Ralph was dead. What confuses me is the fact that thawne was oblivious to the fact he changed the timeline but also wasn’t S1E22 thawne says he hates Barry a Barry years from now Barry says in the future thawne responds by saying in a future. S5E8 wells says to Barry you’ve brought me your daughter. Its a Dawn if I’m not mistaken. And also In season 5 thawne says the NSpeedforce is immune to timeline changes when Nora’s about to be erased so wouldn’t that mean w.e changes happen he’d remember and on top of that the old flash from 2040 said whenever you alter the past those changes affect the present and get compounded in the future. Wouldn’t that also mean that conversations between the flash and thawne at the end and the beginning of S9E10 change as well

2:20 Thawne had stated that if it's not fixed, it gets cemented and gets stronger and becomes the main timeline, i guess since nobody fixed this moment, it became a fixed point in time and cementing this timeline as the OG timeline instead of the one the OG barry came from and thus the current barry has been living in a flashpoint timeline which no one fixed from getting cemented.

I just had a thought, in the original timeline, because Thawne killed Barry’s mother, Barry doesn’t become The Flash which is the reason why Thawne lost his speed and couldn’t return to his time, so wouldn’t that mean that the OG timeline Flash would lose his speed until our Barry got his powers as well? And wouldn’t that mean that OG timeline Barry remains in the past in season 1 until Barry gets his powers? Think it would be cool if there was an Easter Egg in one of the early episodes of season 1 with another Barry in the background or something like that Also, what you said about Barry creating another Flashpoint if he succeeded in talking Thawne down is incorrect, the only reason Flashpoint happened is because although Barry’s mom lives, his parents and his younger self still witnessed what happened that night, whereas if Barry succeeded in stopping Thawne before they went to his house, the timeline would have reverted to the OG one where Barry’s mom is still alive and well and he doesn’t become The Flash until 2020

What i want to see is the event where RF was gonna reveal himself, 170 yrs in the future and then boom barry steps in. What happened? What was the crisis? I actually don’t hate the first 5 like most people seem to because at least there was speed happening, but whenever they get rid of Barry for an episode I’m like “ugh” but these last 2 have definitely made up for it!

Theory the reason flash was phasing the first time his younger self tried to save his mom is because the original flash was being ripped out of time space and replaced by season 8 the second he chose to do it he was literally killing himself i. That moment making way for the new timeline and the reason it was just the blurr is because season 8 barry hadnt gotten there to actually replace him he hadnt become fast enough to phase into the new corrected timeline showing just how fast original timeline barry truely was and how far season 8 barry had to go equal his true legacy

Season 9. and it's already S9 Barry at the end of S1. In S1 Ep1 the child Barry has not gone on to become end of S1 Barry so that time there was no end of S1 Barry hiding behind the door. S1 Barry doesn't need to become S9 Barry for S9 Barry to be there because the Negative Speed Force pulled him there by force and it's immune to timeline changes.

There's another thing Thawne should have known without any version of Barry having to tell him. That stopping Barry from becoming the Flash in any way stops him from becoming the Reverse Flash and therefore stops him from stopping Barry from becoming the Flash. Both Thawne and the whole show was been both a Flashpoint and a paradox since episode 1.

from what i can see. the moment reverse flash and the flash fought in the house, the original timeline changed. this was regardless of whether nora died or not. But I assume that OG timeline barry knew that if he saved his younger self and let his mum die, R.flash would be forced to create the flash to allow himself to regain his speed. The reason he would've stopped season 1 barry is because doing so would cause unknown changes to the timeline which he didn't want to risk happening. this unknown change became flashpoint. The moment OG timeline saved his younger self and thawne killed nora, He ceased to exist and from that point onwards the flash who would inevitably be there to save young barry that night would become the CW timeline flash we have been watching.

I still believe Our Barry is OG timeline Flash. The reason he wasn't phasing/vibrating like in S1, it's because in S1 they didn't fully have the suit of S9, so it wouldn't have made any sense to show Barry (un-phased xD) in S1 in a suit that's not from the future, and in S9 he wasn't phasing because they wanted to show that our Barry was OG timeline Flash all along. (And to show the audience the scene with a "better" suit)

During The Flash Season 7, Timeless Wells helps Barry Allen regain his Speed Force powers which happens during the year 2020, also in the trailer for this weeks episode of The Flash Season 9 we see the 2024 Newspaper Article "Flash Missing Vanishes in Crisis." plus in The Flash Season 1, Reverse-Flash says, "It is your destiny to lose to me Flash, just as it was your mother's destiny to die that night." That means that last weeks episode of The Flash Season 9 was the Original Timeline! How do we know that Reverse-Flash and The Flash didn't try running into the Speed Force offscreen but, they both got kicked out of the Speed Force, because The Flash couldn't return until he apologized and Thanked Reverse-Flash for everything? That means the original timeline is The Flash Season 7, The Flash Season 8 & The Flash Season 9!!!

One thing, you can't know for sure that Eobard didn't have a conversation with Barry after killing his mother as it cuts after Eobard takes off the mask and we're not shown the events after in the original timeline. Despite that, you can probably assume that it's also part of the timeline change.

None of the show happens the same way in the original timeline before episode 1. That was the very first timeline in which Thawne went back to 2000 and killed Nora because he was originally there to kill Barry. Since the timeline hasn't been changed and solidified until after Nora dies 11 year old Barry grows up to be the OG Flash so no, none of that happened the first time around because kid Barry hadn't lived the life he now lives thanks to Thawne.

Well first of all if you want to be precise your statement is false, a lot of the events that happened was the same as before, notably barry and thawnes fight and the fact that barry’s mother died and not barry. Also i’m pretty sure the writer’s intentions were for crisis to be the reason barry became the og flash, since earth prime after crisis isnt the same as before, so the change in events may be due to crisis creating a new earth prime.

i think that the scene where barry catches up to him and talks to him happened in season 1 as well, they just didn't show it. we know that the flash (season 9) stopped himself in season 1 from saving nora. So i'm pretty sure it was the full loop going on, they just didn't show that part so that we can see it for the finale. Barry knew that thawne was still going to try and kill him even if he tries to convince him, but his character is doing what he always does, he has to try (knowing full well eobard is a lost cause).

1 thing i dont really understand is, that this thawne, from the most recent ep., has now the target to kill barry, as he told him, in S8 but originally, thawne wanted just to get back to his timeline. With this knowledge, his target must be to kill barry and not to get home, whereby he obviously needs speed, why i think, that he still recreates the circle but with a special plot-twist...maybe? Im so confused, yet excited since this ep.

Ok so basically young Thawte wanted to kill barry but barry stopped him instead killing his kosher which still deprived him of his speed so that's why he changes into harrioson wells to make barry grow up into the flash so he can get his speed back and ultimately go back home but after being erased from the timeline he hid himself in the speed force to be able to stay alive and since Eddie died all other generations leading up to him have been erased which I guess made him not feel the need to go back home and from then on he dedicated his life to being his ultimate rival and killing him no matter what so in simple terms Thawte did not know that killing barry would take away his speed

No. His plan was always to kill Barry and go back to his future with him as the only speedster and no Flash to take all his thunder, heh get it. But when he killed Barry’s mother, he didn’t realize his speed would be affected, probably since he uses the negative speedforce as opposed to the speedforce.

@@rizz_goat1492 After he got out of the speed force as a result of Eddie dying was I think when he became the Eobard from Legends season 2 and he wanted to Spear of Destiny to change reality so he wasn’t erased and running from the Black Flash. And part of what he did with the spear of destiny was kill Barry but as an adult so he’d still have his speed. This is why it’s weird that he has Wells’ face in Crisis on Earth-X but they sorta explain that later.

My theory is the speedforce made a temporal duplicate of Thawne right before he brought Barry back to the future in S3, or from how the timeline was pre-flashpoint, so it wouldn’t mess with the timeline TOO much.

I don't think a fixed point is something that can be created by someone. A fixed point is something that is, was and will always be a part of a timeline. That is why it's called a "fixed" point, so something that always has to happen. That's why I think that there isn't any timeline change at all, because these events that, we experienced in the most recent episode were always meant to happen. And from the viewpoint of barrys season 1 theses events have already happened. It was always a loop, also in season 1. That barry that we saw in season 1 when season 1 barry traveled back in time is exactly this barry from season 9. It was always meant to happen. So there had never been an "og timeline flash" because our barry was alwas the og timeline flash. And yeah for those who are saying flash was created in 2020: I don't think he was ever created in 2020. He is origin was always in 2013. Yeah we heared from Eobard Thawne that he was created in 2020. But come on. Thawne is literally a living paradox who is from different timelines, timelines that doesn't even exist anymore. Flash was always created in 2013 You also mentioned that "og timeline flash had never talked with eobard after he killed nora. We don't know that because we didn't see it in season 1, perhaps it happened (off screen)

So the funny thing is that there was never a "first time" when eobard thawne killed nora. Because it will always happen because it is a part of the timeline. That is why barry can't kill thawne or thawne can't kill Barry. Because if Barry kills thawne Barry will never become Flash and thats why he would get erased from existence. And if thawne kills barry, thawne would have never gotten the idea to become a speedster, because Flash then doesnt exists anymore and then he would also get erased from existence

I like to think that when Oliver was remaking the universe, he had a sort of snapshot of all of the previous existing universes and sort of mashed them together(Flash/Arrow/Legends + Supergirl + Black Lightning). This included Thawne and his history only starting after the night Barry's mom was killed. Original Timeline Flash vanished after saving Barry as a child, so Oliver couldn't really recreate him, but leave a place for our Flash to take his place and have the illusion of disappearing thanks to the Negative Speedforce.

Interesting take making the Thawne from episode 9x10 the S2 Plot Hole Thawne and not just calling him Post Crisis OG Thawne. I've been saying the Thawne we see is still his OG timeline version but Post S6 Crisis that change is that OG Barry just didn't follow him back and S9 Barry replaced him with his Pre Crisis knowledge of what he is meant to do. Also for people confused the reason I say plot hole Thawne is because it's implied in S2 that the Thawne we see is the OG timeline version before he killed Nora. However, this is literally impossible because the S2 timeline wouldn't exist yet from OG Thawne's POV. He can't travel to a timeline he hasn't even helped to create yet.

Haven't watched the video but gonna leave a comment anyway, and I imagine you're probably gonna say it in the vid, but I think what happened is that Post-Crisis the timeline changed, meaning that this allowed S9 Barry to be there on the night, this would also erase the original timeline Barry from ever being there as Earth-1 got destroyed along with the rest of the multiverse. Plus, we all saw the "Flash vanishes in Crisis" headline, this was changed the moment that Oliver rebuilt the universe, Oliver didn't die, he lived, so now the original Flash was no longer there on the night of his mother's murder, which gives us the reason as to why our Barry is there

It feels like it was supposed to be done at the end of season 3 after savitar killing iris, instead of creating a savitar time remnant, Barry was supposed to get help from reverse flash, and after defeating savitar reverse flash was supposed to be all like.. “I know how to reverse iris’s death.. kill you as a child… catch me if you can flash” then they were supposed to go back in time to his mother’s death scene.

I kind of have a theory as to why original timeline Barry stopped season 1 Barry from interfering and why Season 9 Barry stopped Season 1 Barry from interfering. Original timeline Barry - stopped season 1 Barry because Season 1 Barry just wasn’t strong or fast enough to fight and could possibly cause more damage to the timeline than what was already being done with him and the current reverse flash being there. My reason for that is that original timeline Barry had traveled through time before (not to Nora’s death though) and there was disastrous results. Season 9 Barry - He knows that he needs to maintain the timeline and that season 1 Barry can’t interrupt this fight. Also I saw some people commenting about how Reverse Flash knew that Nora’s death was a fixed point so he had to have had that conversation with Season 9 Flash and I just have one thing to recommend. In season 1 we see that Reverse Flash had a time machine correct? Well what if he tried going back to have his past self not kill Nora so he could keep his speed and kill young Barry and as a result made his own version of flashpoint where things just got worse for him after killing young Barry which cause him to piece together that Nora has to be the one to die. Also just wanted to go ahead and say that wasn’t Barry real original timeline have both his parents alive? I’m not talking about the flashpoint we see in the Flash on CW, I mean like the O.G. original comic story.

I think it happened because of a series of events happening on the timeline right now that were too early... like Barry being the flash seven years faster... Iris was carrying Nora early... allowing the timeline to bring Barry and Thawne back to 2000 sooner and more suddenly. Or maybe you can check out the next episode about the blue thing...

After the rebirth of the multiverse in crisis, no pre crisis og timelines are fixed or permanent, making earth prime has irrevocably changed things. So no assumptions about how things would have played out can really be made, if you think about it earth prime has now had aliens like supergirl and Martian manhunter for decades, you can't even guarantee that if thawne doesn't kill nora that the time wells PA creates a speedster can be predicted with all the advanced alien tech

I'm going with a much simpler explanation...the Flash seen in the house is always a version of the Flash from season 9. Any differences in how the scene appeared from season 1 to season 9 is because of *perspective* The Flash in season 9 appeared blurry to younger Flash ...because he is moving much faster than s3 Flash can keep up. I would even say ..any differences in the suit ...are also attributed to the perspective. The only difference between the scenes is that in season 9 it is being shown through the perspective of s9 Flash.

That Flash is completely gone and Thawne is never born in the current timeline due to Eddie being dead/Negative Speed Force avatar. At the end of S1 the future Flash is already S9 Barry and Thawne is the time remnant from season 2 that learned what year the Flash is from but it only happens how it happens in S2 because of what happens in S1 which only happens because of the OG timeline.

I think in the original timeline, some kind of crisis must have happened like the crisis on earth x or infinite earths. All the heroes would have come together to fight a team of villains of which reverse flash must have been a part. The villains would have lost and reverse flash, in a fit of rage or some incident between flash and reverse flash during the fight, decided that he would go back in time to kill barry as a child forgetting that it would literally make him cease to exist. And they went back to that night while still fighting in the time stream, barry saved himself and let his mom die, which was never supposed to happen in the first place as the OG timeline barry never lost his mother, got his powers in 2020 particle accelerator incident from OG wells and then vanished in 2024 under the "red skies" moment from the newspaper article, thus creating a flashpoint and has been living in that ever since. Infact i believe the flashpoint that he actually created in season 3 was actually the OG timeline which he stumbled back into, but since the speedforce had already chosen and given powers to wally instead of barry who was absent at that moment, had to run back to fix it, going back to the flashpoint timeline again

@@theorycraftingmachine2876 i think because killing barry's mom caused significant changes in timeline, the OG timeline was gone and so does the OG barry, thawne lost his speed. In our barry's timeline barry knew what happened that night and allowed thawne to kill his mom, which changed nothing for our barry nor did it disrupt anything for our current barry except for thawne who lost his speed as he was from the original timeline and completely erased the OG timeline. Also thawne mentioned that one of his child's name was dawn and had more than one child (assuming they are the tornado twins from the comics who were named dawn and don from the OG timeline), and not nora who was named in memory of his now dead mother nora who was killed by thawne

I think it's because of the changes with crisis. I know it's easy and feels cheap to point at crisis but Barry was going to vanish in 2024. It's most likely Original Barry became the flash in 2020, teained for 4 years and then they both vanish into the past (red skies and all). The original timeline flash and reverse flash goes back in time through the portal yada yada yada. Thawne kills Nora instead of Barry and therefore original timeline flash no longer exists. This means season 9 flash HAD to replace original timeline flash

you can very well visualize the Original Timeline: A---B---C the OG Timeline is "A" "B" is the moment Nora dies. "C" is everything that follows Noras Death Because "A" happens, RF goes back in time and causes "B". Which leads to: B---C Thats why its fixed Point. Because there is no "Before" anymore. Or in the Sense of a Timestream: Its a new Beginning. And "C" leads to "B". Meaning: "A" causes B---C---B---C---B---C---.... The whole serie is the first loop, of a timeloop.
