Thank you :) www.patreon.com/cmrr "Pour les enfants" (1908-9 ; révisé en 1945) est une introduction idéale, bien que sous une forme rudimentaire, au style de clavier de Bartók. De plus, son accessibilité (les pièces sont pour la plupart des Chants d'innocence plutôt que d'Expérience) offre une alternative reconnaissante à la complexité ultérieure. En ce sens, les deux volumes se rapportent à ces deux chefs-d'œuvre d'évocation de l'enfance, les Kinderszenen de Schumann (1838) et le Children's Corner de Debussy (1908). Dans le volume I, 4 est un doux rappel d'une danse sur l'oreiller plutôt que d'un combat, et tout au long il y a des échos de mélodies de pépinière et de folklore de provenance internationale plutôt que simplement nationale. La Ballade (13) a une véritable dissonance surprise, d'autant plus étonnante pour son marquage pianissimo. En 18, le soldat chante sa chanson de façon sonore et avec un accent écossais marqué, tandis que 21 fait écho à l'adieu final de la Waldszenen de Schumann. Par contre, 26 montre des signes d'une future sophistication musicale, de bi-tonalité, un soupçon de quelque chose au-delà de l'horizon d'un enfant, et 38, avec ses échos de Carillon, fait se demander si Bartók connaissait bien l'étrange ambivalence de la Suite pour l'arbre de Noël (1874-6) de Liszt. Dans le volume II, 41 est étrangement transparent et complet, et 45 est une simple introduction à la forme de la variation. La tranquillité des plaines hongroises, si centrale dans la vision de Bartók, est avec nous dans 54, et 51 a un langage très bartókien marqué fort et sonore. Voici donc une distillation d'une facette du génie multiforme de Bartók, qualité négligée par les pianistes qui ignorent que la musique écrite pour les enfants par les adultes, de l'enfance vue, tristement, ludiquement et ironiquement à travers les yeux des adultes, est pleine de surprises. Pour Géza Anda, un Bartókien suprême, en revanche, chacune de ces pièces mérite le plus grand soin et la plus grande affection. Il s'agit, après tout, de diamants de l'atelier du Maître.
