QUESTION I am using enamel paint since acrylics seem not to stick to the plastic of my model kits. Using enamel paints for the silver base coating and later for the camouflage, how would the hairspray method be done in this case?
I doubt it. I left mine for a day once and it was pretty much unusable. I just did a batch now and started scratching about 30 minutes after and it was ok but not ideal. Looks like you also have to put on a nice layer of the chipping fluid, not too thin. Best to do it right away I think. Good luck.
So, instead of buying regular hair spray and getting exactly the same result, pay two or three times the price for “modellers chipping effect” in a bottle. You think model building geeks are idiots as well?
