Mysa is a smart thermostat for those of us with electric heat. I love the sleek look, and they have quite a few great features that will work to cut down on your electric bill. See my full review at Best Buy's blog www.blog.bestbuy.ca

Great video! Quick question, how many base board heaters can you put on one Mysa t stat?

Mysa smart thermostat has some great features, however it's core function is to regulate heat and it doesn't do as good a job compared to my cheap Honeywell RLV.series.. i find it's tri mode power output doesn't ramp up consistently so the temperature fluctuates more as shown by my digital in house thermostat and the large energy swings on the Mysa app compared to the Honeywell which ramps up and down gradually through its 4 modes of operation keeping the temperature on point way more consistently also can not input half a degree increments on the device.. So i returned Mysa . gona tryout Sinope and see

Is there a version of this that mounts directly on the baseboard radiator? My current thermostat is a knob at the left hand end of the radiator and it doesn’t work any more, so I thought I might try replacing it with a smart thermostat, but what you show in the vid would require me to run wires and since I live in a log cabin with solid log walls I’m not eager to try to add more wiring, I want something that can mount in place of the current thermostat.

I have the same question, did you find the answer by chance ?
@jpe1
@jpe1 3 года назад
@@caseyritter3185 I ended up buying a modern replacement “direct-mount” thermostat from Lowes www.lowes.com/pd/Fahrenheat-Mechanical-Non-Programmable-Thermostat/3133757 and then (since my radiators are 30 years old and neither that color nor that exact shape) I took the actual thermostat part off the new mounting plate and transferred it to the old mounting plate. Fascinatingly, while the original was made in USA, the Chinese replacement was *identical* in all dimensions, even having a small notch that is totally unnecessary for the modern mounting plate but fit my old plate perfectly. So, while I didn’t gain any clever “smart house” functionality I was able to get the radiator working again, and I even used the old knob so it all looks original.

Shelly thank you so much for posting this...I have Dumb T-stats...(and everything else)...240V heaters here in MN (which is often thought as Canada due to our COLD)... So couple of questions: this is Wi-Fi (not limited range Bluetooth) so I could control them from anywhere I'd have internet? I have fibre optic internet to home for streaming and work, but mostly not technology savvy LOL! Also is there a °F setting as well? We haven't quite converted to Celsius yet... You said you can shut them completely off, that would be nice as we keep our house very COLD in summer I don't need them coming on for no reason... Thank You For Your Time...Stay Warm! :)
@ShellyWutke604
@ShellyWutke604 3 года назад
Hi. Thanks for stopping by! Yes, they run via Wi-Fi, and they will also keep working even if your internet is out (they just won't run on your schedule). You can choose C or F in the app so you aren't stuck on Canadian temps. :) And yes, you can shut them off completely whenever you want to. You just tap the little flame to the left of your temp in the app and it opens up modes. You can turn them off or turn them to heat mode. I hope you stay warm too! Every winter I swear I'm going to upgrade to a furnace or some other heat source and every year I end up relying on these heaters. At least the thermostat makes it less painful.

I see the neutral has only 1 wire hook to it. But all the Mysa documentation has 2 wire hook to the neutral. Can you please explain the wiring part you did ?
@ShellyWutke604
@ShellyWutke604 2 года назад
The wiring in my house is absolutely crazy, so I had to look at my wires and really figure it out. I only had one wire hook to each and it works perfectly fine. I think the new Mysa documentation showed alternatives for wiring?

I feel like I should make a review after seven of these for three years. They work OK I actually uninstalled the scheduler because Apple decided it new best and took the applications features and overrode them.

I have also 4 wires. 2 of them (white and black) they have power and 2 of them they don’t (black and white also) I have 1 black with power connected on the L1, one black without power on load and 2 white wires (one with power and one without) on the L2.. the thermostat turns on for a little while and after shut off. Few hours later on again and few minutes later off. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Anyone can help?
@ShellyWutke604
@ShellyWutke604 2 года назад
Is it tripping the breaker? What type of thermostat did you have before? I kept my blacks together and my whites together, and I only had one red. Mysa does have great support if you want to contact them and ask how to wire it.
@georgepo822
@georgepo822 2 года назад
@@ShellyWutke604 no they don’t tripping the breaker. I had the Honeywell Home Manual Electric Baseboard.
@ShellyWutke604
@ShellyWutke604 2 года назад
@@georgepo822 I'm not sure why it would be doing that, but it sounds like power is surging to the thermostat? I've had a hard time with any baseboard thermostat because the wiring to every heater is different in my house. The best thing to do is get a volt meter and test every wire you have, then pair them accordingly. The extra wires may be causing a surge that's turning the thermostat off, and removing them could help that.

Useless for my condo. I have 4 individual heaters with a dial 1-5 heat adjustment. I thought this was for individual thermostats for each heater not a wall thermostat.
@ShellyWutke604
@ShellyWutke604 2 года назад
It is for individual heaters. My living room baseboard heaters are wired to this thermostat, and every other room also has its own individual Mysa on the wall. They can sync together via the app but they are also individually controlled.

The app sucks. It's a pain to create a schedule. You must remember to "copy day". If not you would think the schedule would work for one day only. Not! You also have to give the schedule a name! But wait! After that you also have to apply the schedule you finally successuly named and saved.
