In this Basecamping adventure, we pitch at the Morvich Caravan & Motorhome Club site in the western highlands. Spending three days hiking in the incredible Scottish wilderness and exploring the northernmost point of the Isle of Skye.
Another brilliant run away in The Basecamp and a pity you only had a few days….You have only scratched the surface of Scotland and hopefully you return for a longer exploration. I could watch your exploits for hours…Bravo
Nick - what can anyone say? Amazing photography, professionally presented and a beautiful trip out. You really have inspired me to purchase my first Basecamp and I simply love your trip reports. Thank you for all that you do. I can’t wait for the next one ❤️
what a stunning landscape and your way of telling about the place and history is sooo pleasing 😊 really enjoyed the video and the scenery and your dog is stealing the show ✌️☺️
Wow Nick, almost lost for words. Your cinematography skills took the stunning scenery to another level. I’m not surprised you were amazed being there and experiencing it first hand. Thanks for another fantastic video, always totally immersive. Thank you.
Another great video! Just a quick question what method do you use to get Wi-Fi into your van to enable you to watch Netflix? Do you use a mi~fi device? Thanks Jules
Nick what can i say i’ve been looking forward to this one and you certainly didn’t disappoint an absolute cracking vlog. A 10 hour drive is no mean feat towing the basecamp. I stayed in Inverness last month at the Culloden caravan site and had a day trip to Skye drove past the Morvich Caravan site visited Eilean Donan castle then headed up to Portree. It’s a jaw droppingly stunning area of the Highlands dripping in History. That looked like a nice wee site a great base for Skye and the surrounding area. Your Drone footage is spectacular mate. An absolutely stunning vlog and you cracked it with the weather. Which way did you go did you go through Fort William ? How did your car manage? Look forward to your next one mate 👍🏻🏴🏴
Thanks John. I shot far too much content so left lots out as I try to keep my vlogs to the 20mins mark. Yes I went through fort William and then Glencoe. It’s the best way to go! On the way there the car drank the petrol averaging 25mpg. I usually get 32 to 36 with the BC on the back but it’s uphill all the way from Preston on the way out. The car performed well however I wouldn’t want to put a heavier caravan on the back. I think the Audi would start to struggle. We were very lucky with the weather it has to be said. Amazing trip…. Already want to go back. There was loads I had planned but we just didn’t have the time to do it. Scotland is absolutely awesome.
FYI - my facebook account has been hacked and disabled. Now in a slow process with Facebook trying to sort it all out hence I’ve not been active on the Basecamp Facebook group. Gutted as I’ve got loads of pics to share of the trip.
Hopefully you get that sorted soon mate id love to see more pictures. We were wondering where to stay up around there so Morvich is a good base for us not far from Glen Shiel also where the battle took place in 1719 stopped there on the way back from Skye a few hills though for towing
Brilliant video as always it was great to reminisce as we stayed at the Morvich camp site last year as part of a 4 week tour of Scotland how did you find the state of the roads on Skye!!
Been to Scotland. Had a fantastic 10 days (Karen has posted about it on the Basecamp Facebook page). Only downside were the midges on the West coast (Oban). Regarding the app. Are you pro or pr+ Will compare to AllTrails
Awesome, thank you. We just got the Basecamp 2 after watching your videos. Been out on our first trip and loved it! What a fantastic upgrade to our camping and hiking trips :D
@@mkrhike that’s awesome! I find the BC is perfect for hiking. Within reason the Basecamp can be towed anywhere and it’s a very comfortable and practical living space to return to after a day in the hills.
