There is a movie called black water. It is scary similar a young Asian girl died in a water tank and then throughout the building there was a haunting and black water coming out of faucets and bathtubs. It’s even creepier bc timeline wise it couldn’t have been based on her actual death bc the movie was first.
That's why I don't drink water. well Water got bacteria in it and it's dirty and stnky. Spring water got animal piss and shit in it. They never check the tanks for the city water, It has like fourteen corrosive deadly chemicals in it. And I need them to stop going to iceland and antarctica and tearing up the glaciers for bottled water.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
She wasn’t murdered, she was mentally unwell because she had a strong history of documented psychosis and had stopped taking her antipsychotics and walked onto the roof and into the tank herself
Nah, that's illegal. They don't want that type of lawsuit. But There's an insane amount of homeless people around the area, so odds are one of them had TB and because they can't isolate themselves, they wanted to check people around.
Elisa was a 21-year-old Canadian student who disappeared in 2013 at the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles while she was travelling across the US.A video of Elisa, filmed in a hotel elevator before she vanished, went viral when it was released by LA police during their investigation. The elevator doors didn't close. She appeared to be speaking with someone unseen. Her movements were strange. She jumped in and out of the elevator. Then, she vanished. footage from the Cecil Hotel was used to try and trace Elisa's final moments.Elisa's body was found in a water tank on the hotel's roof 19 days after she was first reported missing. The reason why they checked the tanks we because it affected the drinking water and people said it smelled weird and was turning black. That’s because he body was decomposing in the water that had caused it to go bad.
Also, Elisa was bipolar and prone to episodes (hence the odd elevator footage.) The coroner ruled the death likely to have occurred due to bipolar, and said there was no evidence of foul play.
The reason why they initially checked the water tanks is because her rotting body was being mixed with the drinking water, so people begun to experience foul smells and black water, and that’s when they realized it was actually her decomposing body that had caused the water to go bad in the first place..
I know I’m super late to respond, but the first time I saw the elevator footage (along with already knowing she had some type of manic/bipolar issues) it was almost clear as to what she was doing. Again, I could be completely wrong since I have not yet seen the autopsy report (only heard comments that her medication dosages were low when checked). My mother was in a manic state for almost 3 years. Bipolar/manic/depression etc all run in our family. She clearly had it and unfortunately did not have the finances to remain on any medication she was given for it. I have seen and heard almost the exact type of behavior, minus my mother being in an actual elevator. It almost seemed like Elisa was hallucinating, maybe thinking someone was following her, due to normal nature of hearing others walk around in the hotel and whatnot. My mother can take very reasonable and rational situations and pull things from them like never before. Like catching a few words of a distant convo and saying it was about her, or directed towards her etc. If Elisa thought she was being followed and needed an escape, but was hallucinating at the same time, she could have easily tried to push all the buttons thinking she was going to get to another floor and escape her “follower/stalker”. But may have accidentally hit a button in which keeps the elevator doors open until the button is pushed to close. My mom would have immediately thought someone was fckin with her on the other side of the doors, hence why Elisa steps out and looks. Her hand movements almost seem like she’s checking the “sensors” on the doors, and potentially freaking out thinking that the only explanation for the doors to remain open was that someone was messing with her. Maybe she believed (in a state of psychosis) that the roof would be safer. Saw the water tank. Thought to herself: good hiding spot. Didn’t realize how quickly it could turn into something dangerous since maybe she wasn’t thinking clearly. It could be that the media is hiding something, but idk what to believe anymore lol. Jus thought I’d share my thought process and maybe relate to others that deal with mental illness or are dismissed when they or their family are going through these episodes. Either way, I hope you are at peace, Elisa Lam. 💔
You know, I've never thought of it this way but your version makes a lot of sense. I know we'll never truly know what happened. It is an EXTREMELY HUGE coincidence that the TB test everyone had to get was called the LAM-ELISA, though. That part really does throw me. It wouldn't surprise me if the cops did that TB test as a fishnet DNA gathering expedition. They gave it that crazy name on purpose so they would know what it was for. Idk if I'm right or just really looking too deep into it. Whatever happened, I hope she's at peace now.
@@HeyImAlyRay I’m not 100% but I want to say the media posted eventually that the top was actually open. I believe there was a language barrier between the FBI/police and the maintenance guy when getting that info right after it all went down. Not sure though
If I'm not wrong, there's a woman and a few people who stayed who drank the water and complain to the hotel management about the taste and color of the water 💀💀💀 that's the time where they found her body
If anyone is curious abt Elisa Lam, I highly recommend reading autopsy. Check the meds/side effects. I know there's still unanswered questions but there's some medical research abt a person's strength when they're in a state of desperation.
I think it’s more likely that someone left it open. Or, if anyone killed her, (which I don’t believe it was) it would have to be an employee because they would have the keys or tools to open it.
If you look into it more they did have a suspect who they thought who might have done it too and then the eternal examination says there is moderate decomposition green and marbling on upper thighs and a 1 inch scar on one of the knees
It was intentionally done! After Lam died, a tuberculosis outbreak plagued Los Angeles, especially among the homeless community in Skid Row by the Cecil Hotel. The test for the tuberculosis was literally her name, but backwards: LAM-ELISA, which stood for Lipoarabinomannan (LAM) Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA).
It is just a coincidence. I'm sure the test was named LAM ELISA to give it an easy acronym. If they had called it LEIA, the first letter of each word, that wouldn't have been such a good name......wait......😆
When my grandpa was younger his neighbors where murdered in their summer home at the bottom of the hill down the road “The Robison” murders or “good hart murders” basically they never caught who did it because DNA testing didn’t exist in the 60’s and the person who they thought it was didn’t have enough evidence against him…he ended up killing himself- but, my grandpa said they came back from a weekend vacation, and for a few days before they left the smell of something rotting kept getting worse and worse, and when they came back from the weekend vacation it was so unbearable and clearly someone was dead. Well some ladies having a tea party called the police complaining about the smell, they where found murdered and the bodies where 6 weeks old. It was a father, mother, 2 older sons, a younger son and a younger daughter. The bodies where so rotten and decomposed that the house they died in smelled so terrible they had to burn the house down because they couldn’t get the smell to go away.
I had to look this case up. It's sad they never arrested anyone but it's not unsolved. At least the guy "took care of himself" if you know what I mean.
@@geeperjane for 6, 6 week old rotting corpses it would’ve probably cost more to replace all the flooring and infected areas than the owners were willing to pay, unfortunate indeed
As soon as he said girl in the water tank I knew the story. This was such a crazy story and the fact she was just decomposing in the water and they didn’t even want to check it was disgusting.
the craziest thing would be if 75% of crimes in this hotel happened from the maintenance/who has access to the security footage, they would literally be able to know how to get past ALL cameras, who has company who doesn't, if they live by themselves etc... it wouldn't be the first time someone would use this power/knowledge for evil, and if it's 2 people this wouldn't be the first time some psychos worked together. 🤷🏻♀️ so 😢
If you haven’t seen it, the documentary about the Cecil hotel is one of the most terrifying and interesting movies I’ve ever watched! You’ll have chills the whole time.
@@leobeboop4944 Crime Scene: The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel I saw it on Netflix, I’m not sure if it’s still there though. I highly suggest finding it and watching it! It’s a suspenseful mystery, and the whole thing is an absolutely true story! I was captivated in terrified through the whole thing.
@@noodlepoodlegirl I just watched this. Crazy case! I remember when it happened but had long forgotten about it. I'm on the very last episode of the series now.... I hope they come up with an answer to what happened.
Story: Cecil hotel is the most dangerous hotel full of drug dealers, rapers, murderers it’s awful. Elisa lam fell victim to someone when she went in a elevator and waited and waited. The elevator arrived. She looked out. Went back in and the security footage they were watching cut out. Soon enough her body was found in the water tank. No clothes. Dead. It’s sick to think about
She had schizophrenia and was off her meds. Thats one plausible explanation for her behavior and such. If nobody murdered her, then its possible due to a series of strange circumstances (rooftop door and rooftop water tank left open) that she wandered in
@@Carrot_tree. when you suffer from hypothermia you take your clothes off, her clothes were floating in the water with her. And days before she got up there workers were doing work I believe and somehow forgot to close the the thing property, This story was solved a long time ago but people love running with the “how did it happen its so sus!” The family got their peace, I forget what vid I saw but it broke the case down perfectly no trying to play up the horror movie vibe people online keep trying to push
@@heartsDmise I watched a Netflix documentary about this case. Not saying I’m an expert, but she had bipolar I, not schizophrenia, which I remember bexause the documentary made it a point to bring up the stigmatization and misinformation around bipolar disorder and how that affected the investigation for this case.
Can you imagine using that water then knowing there was a dead body in the water tanks!!??? I would start taking a shower with bleach and one of those wire scrub brushes for the rest of my life!! I feel so awful for Lisa and her family! That is one of the rabbit holes I find myself in all the time-trying to see if I can figure out what was going on with her! It breaks my heart that she was alone and clearly terrified
bruh the cloud ceiling is so pretty??? also i’m invested, i know the true story is probably out there on the internet but ur storytelling is awesome and i’d watch a show written by, directed by, and acted out by just you-
From experience working at hotels.... cheap hotels...this kind of stuff happens more than you think especially in downtown L.A. A lot of the time the killer is a rich person and pays off the hotel managers and directors. And that's how they get away. The directors erase CCTV footage and are in personal connections with law enforcement.
People complained of funny tasting water. They started using water pressure after they realized even more legal issues with the fact of people drinking body waste.
Peet you did not have to scare me today 😭 I was scrolling to RU-vid shorts with my earphones and the news reporter sounds like the outside world when I have my earphones in, so I was scared because I thought there was an actual dead body found on the tv.
Was sad to find out the Cecil had its signage removed after being sold. Went to LA this summer and it was in my bucket list of places to see. Also, very shady area to visit at night.
@@eggowaffle4555 I saw the mess, never got out of the car but would have liked a pic of the sign. We only stayed 3 horrible days in Cali and only got out of the car at the pier ti ride out to The Rock. Loved the tent city just a block from our 150 a night hotel.
Thank you for sharing this! Can’t believe she survived those 14 hours, or any of it really. Every part of this story shocked me. Glad there was a happy ending against all odds
doesn't usually comment on these vids but i had a terrible experience where me and my friends went to rent in an apartment and one day when i'm about to take a shower and brush my teeth, i saw the water coming out of the faucet looking a lil rusty and the smell of it is just awful. i still brush my teeth though only to find out later that day that there was a dead rat stuck on the water tank where the water we used came from. really gets into my nerves everytime i remember this thing, luckily we didn't get any diseases after that. still traumatizing though 🥲
she also had some kinda of psychotic break before she went missing, but she also ended up in the water tank and the lid was closed which she would have never been able to close once in the tank as it was to high, meaning someone locked her in there
Seriously, where do you people get off on saying it was closed when EVERY OFFICIAL STATEMENT on the lid has said that the janitor examined the water tank BECAUSE IT WAS OPEN.
It’s a mystery why her last moments of life were her acting so strange on the elevator but to be honest it is the weirdest and saddest death i have ever heard
Elisa has bipolar disorder and you can see that in full display if you look at the footage of her in the elevator. She had an episode at the time of her death. The parent tried sue the hotel for negligence since they actually don’t have the water tank secured and it’s probable that someone like Elisa would be able to open it up and climb inside.
@@Teddie_Bear No one knows what goes through her mind during that time. However she has history of not taking her meds and having hallucinations, some of these hallucinations causes her to hide underneath her bed in fear. This disorder can lead to one might feel depressed. She even wrote in her blog “depression sucks. I have no control over my emotions. I will be anger for two minutes and sad again. I will be happy for half an hour and be emotional again. So far all I’ve done is lay on my bed and watch episodes of Chopped. I’m just waiting for it to pass.” Sadly it isn’t a ghost story, just a tragic girl struggling with her mental health.
I have to say I wasn't too aware of the situation of Elisa Lam or the hotel until I had saw one of your prior videos where you tried to put the drone into the hotel. But since then, there there was a documentary that come out on Netflix that kind of explains the whole story and it was really sad, but very interesting. She seemed like a really nice person RIP Elisa Lam 🌺.
Elisa Lam was a real person who was loved and a person who had hopes and dreams for her life. She isn't some creepy ghost story or a conspiracy theory and she definitely doesn't deserve to be treated as such. Rest in peace, Elisa
No but the conspiracy theories keep her case alive. Keep it active. She deserves justice. Not to be swept under the rug due to suspicious & unknown circumstances
This is kinda similar to the case of Debanhi Escobar. Her body was found in the motel water tanks. They kept switch the story saying she drowned but there was no evidence in the body of drowning. Meaning she was first murdered then tossed away in there. Then they switched it saying she did have evidence of drowning but also evidence of being abused…. Rest in Peace 👼🏻🕊️🤍
The people drinking the water are too poor for the government to care if they experienced side effects or even died so I doubt they’d disclose the truth if they found out and if people got sick it was likely massively under reported due to those people being too poor to seek medical care anyways
@@Zimzum93 Well, I would have had to know there was a TB outbreak to know that they had effects right? Why not just inform me like, "Unfortunately they did have some effects. There was a TB outbreak." That would have been way less condescending and actually informative. I still wonder why people find joy in treating each other this way.
I watched the documentary on this that Netflix has and it genuinely had me so mad. From how it was handled to how long it took to find that poor girl to this one guy who was accused for causing her death because he stayed at the hotel a year before she did and a song he wrote.
Yeahhh, cool huh? weirdo....lol I had 2 girls crash in my bacc yard and both girls died, it was horrible. :/ but does that make me brave because I live here still and both girls souls remain on my back porch pretty much guess that makes me brave. 😂

For those who dont know Elisa was a 21 year old Canadian girl who went missing after being seen in the cecil hotel, playing a game in the elevators, basically you do sometjing with the buttons and you go to different floors but your alone with creatures, and on one floor a lady will enter if you talk or look at her you will die, well Elisa was found takinging to someone, but on the camera there wasnt anyone but her, then Elisa vanished, a few days later there were complaints about the water tasting wierd, so the maintenance guy went to look at it and Elisa was found in the tank dead and the water had turned black This is what i know so far, i dont know if this is what really happened.
What water are you drinking then? If your fear is decomposing bodies in the water supply, you're aware that most bottled water is also tap water, right? And even actual spring water is kept in holding tanks before it's eventually bottled.
@@shannonrickard8605 yeah, that's not how it works in my country. Bottled water in here has strict regulations and most of it is water from mineral springs. The city's tap water is taken from a river where dead bodies show up monthly, of course its cleaned, but I still won't drink it. We have our own well which we now connected to our house, but up till now I always went out to the well to fill up a bottle.
@@antifairy9028 yes, and? I never said I stopped drinking water the moment I sae this video, I haven't drank tap water since I first heard about this in 2015
It really is strange and I’m completely hooked on the story of this place too. Pls give us updates when you can! Also, that last part was a mouthful. I would’ve given up and shoved the paper in the camera and said, “read this” lmao
Ok, this is what i know abt this, Elisa was having an episode, and she thought someone was chasing her so she ran up to the water tank to hide and so she could float (i dont think she could swim ) she took off all her clothes jumped in and died .
Hey buddy you should keep doing stuff like this this is really cool I know about the case but it makes me wanna watch the case again and that tb test thing kinda tripped me out lol
Im 14 and took a “Principal’s of Law” class last school year. We went over here Elisa Lam case for s while and here is my theory, please share your thoughts :) (it’s been a while so it may not make sense) Ok so Elisa had a past of severe bipolar disorder, she also had another family member who had died in a similar way to her; in a large container of water, who also had the same disorder as her. The night she was seen going around the halls and elevator she hadn’t taken her medication. In the elevator footage she was seen as somewhat erratic and almost as if she was scared. Elisa was also seen hiding in the elevator and talking to either herself or someone else outside the elevator. It appeared she was having some sort of episode. I honestly don’t believe her “episode” could lead her to take her clothing off, throw it in the gravel, then pick it up, plop into the water tank and somehow pull the lid over herself. I believe someone took advantage of the fact that she was having her “episode” which is what lead to her being found in the water tank. Im sorry if this offended anyone who does have bipolar disorder; not all symptoms are the same or as severe as others. If you would like to add, comment or correct me pls let me know in the comments :)
I agree with you! I mean, maybe she was trying to hide? But you don't just think of a water tank. Maybe their family got involved in something. That would explain the similar deaths. Very unlikely though.
First off- the taking advantage part. You are so on point. Especially refreshing from the perspective of 14yr old to be so aware about things like that. I don't mean the common sense things- I mean the dark underneath. Only thing - I thought Lithium is typically prescribed for Bipolar disorder.. and along with other medications they prescribe for Bi-polar disorder, they take awhile to buildup in system and one day being off medication should not cause effects as intense as these behaviors.. Even with medications such as methadone which also builds up.. even that would still take 20 hours to get the nasty withdrawal symptoms starting.. SSRI's another etc. Point is- usually these types don't just flip a switch into symptoms unless experiencing the withdrawal and Lithium is NOTORIOUS for nasty symptoms once not using...

Reminds of that time a employee at Bumble Bee Tuna was inside a tank cleaning a huge steamer and they dumped raw tuna on him and cooked it. They canned and distributed most of it before realizing he was in there.
I use to religiously watch Ghost Adventures... i loved them because they told the history on the place. The cecil hotel was one of the places they went too.
