Ceramic is great for body and tank armor too. there are different levels to it.

If the force used to break the ceramic tank armor given it's surface area relative to the impact point is aimed at your watch given it's size you've got bigger problems than losing a watch. lmao

But, the coffe cups are not made in ceramic.

Modern ceramics are fine for watches, providing your're not going to be using it to knock nails into wood

h iphoi, That's not correct. There are some Speedmasters with the calibre 3220 movement. Which is, of course, automatic.

The tech is modernized and so is the styling. As much as the original is a great looking watch, it isn't really that great a movement. Kind of reminds me of the James Bond Aston Martin; gorgeous to look at but a slog to actually drive. There's a lot more to this new one that really puts it up to spec while still holding the familiarity of the classic. Not everyone is going to be in love, but it is a pretty amazing timepiece nonetheless.

Yes! It would be great! I can't take another limited edition speedmaster! "100" similiar limited editions do not really fit into the idea of "limited edition". It only dilutes the image of the brand. Back to the roots! Less upgrades and creativity but more rareness, authenticity, tradition and heritage. Keep it simple, Omega! Look at Rolex: Many models - YES At the same time - NEVER Radical changes - NEVER Limited production - ALWAYS Limited edition - ONCE IN A LIFETIME IN CONCLUSION, THE CUSTOMER CAN RELY ON ROLEX AND KNOWS WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE BRAND -> WELL DEFINED IMAGE. Look at Omega: Many models - YES At the same time - ALWAYS Radical changes - VERY OFTEN Limited production - ALWAYS Limited edition - ALWAYS IN CONCLUSION, THE CUSTOMER DOESN'T KNOW WHICH MODEL HE/SHE SHOULD BUY AND WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OMEGA. -> IMAGE IS NOT CLEAR. Omega needs some (only a handful) new and VERY different watches instead of many slightly different limited edition or limited production watches of iconic designs. Omega destroys its own value. Overall, Omega has to get a sharper, more defined image. Omega did too much. Less is more. And, by the way, good work!

Aha but by having so many models the chance of you bumping into someone with the same watch becomes slimmer... thus the watch is rarer ;)

You talk about max 10,000 price range. Not 50k exclusivity..

Omega was making a grand overhaul of their whole line. They had lost touch with the market and Rolex took all the praise for years. Starting with the Pierce Brosnan Bond watch though, they really started gaining ground. Creating a new movement to replace the Eta's and Valjoux movements to something that is In House and an amazing tech like the CoAxial (and now Master class) was a huge step too. I suspect they have been shotgunning different models to further confirm what the consumer really likes and values the most in a mechanical timepiece. But I think they are at the point where they have that figured out and in so many ways, what they've created exceeds what Rolex has on the market (though still not having as big a name yet). Now they are going to start limiting lineups, creating more exclusivity, more rarity, all with superior movements and modern stylings. If that works, I suspect that they can retake the domination they had previous to the Digital Depression and become the bigger name brand over Rolex. Probably will still take a generation or two, but I think they have the strategy down to do it.

It's not busy .you need to look it directly then you know OMEGA watch is different from other brand.
