Such an inspiring video. Having a daughter escaping domestic violence I showed her this. She thankfully had the strength to leave and start to make a life for herself.
@@221b-Maker-Street In terms of it's barely played on mainstream UK radio stations, whilst other lesser anthems are continuously played e.g lola's theme & starlight.
Tell me, tell me, Is life just a playground? Think you're the real deal, Honey? And someone will always look out for you? But wake up, Baby, You're so totally deluded You'll end up old and lonely, If you don't get a bullet in your head Good luck, good luck, Good luck in your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, When you're resting your head Good luck, good luck, Good luck in your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, When you're resting your head You sold me, sold me, You sold me down the river now I hope you're feeling happy now, Now you always have a sneer in your smile But wake up, Baby, You're so totally deluded You'll end up old and lonely, If you don't get a bullet in your head Good luck, good luck, Good luck in your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, When you're resting your head Good luck, good luck, Good luck in your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, When you're resting your head And I'm glad, so glad, that I'm done with you No more crying, crying leaving me so black & blue You backed me up against the wall, But I stand tall, don't give a damn no more Oh, Baby, bye bye No more lies No more lies No more lies Without you Good good luck, In your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, When you resting your head Good good luck, In your new bed Enjoy your nightmares Good luck, good luck, Good luck in your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, When you're resting your head Good luck, good luck, Good luck in your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, When you're resting your head Good luck, good luck, (Good luck) Good luck in your new bed (Good luck) Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, (Good luck) When you're resting your head (Good luck) Good luck, good luck, (Good luck) Good luck in your new bed (Good luck) Enjoy your nightmares, Honey, (Good luck) When you're resting your head (Good luck) Good good luck, In your new bed Enjoy your nightmares, When you resting your head Good good luck, In your new bed Enjoy your nightmares
Listened to this for so long after I was betrayed by someone and, not only are the words perfect, but the voice has enough gravel and venom to sell the emotion! Beautiful, ballsy, ballistic and brilliant! 👍
I had the distinct pleasure of hearing this song in giant theatre speakers back in 2004 when Appleseed came out, and let me tell you this song might be the only reason I absolutely love that movie.
I'll always be grateful to whoever in the production of Appleseed had the awesome taste to put this song in the movie; if they hadn't, I might never have even heard of Basement Jaxx.
"And I'm glad, so glad, that I'm done with you No more crying, crying Leaving me so black and blue You backed me up against the wall But I stand tall, don't give a damn no more" Damn!
A vicious kiss 💋 off to an ex lover backed by LISA KEKAULA'S impressive, full-throated alto and by the BASEMENT JAXX' vibrant, impeccably produced neo-disco, "Good Luck" is a lot of saucy fun. Criminally underrated, the song would have been a top ten hit if dance rather than hip hop ruled the 1990s pop charts.
This is the best song that i've found to wake me up in the morning. I find the song so interesting. I can wake, snooze, wake 10 or more times in a row, each time happy to listen to this song in full. I'll quite happily let it play for hours. Come to think of it, it's probably not the best alarm song after all.
You know, Lisa and the band she sings with, the Bellrays, need to be on the radio. They are badass. Loved this song ever since it came out! She's fantastic!!
I rarely ever love a song right from the jump but this one hooked me immediately when she started singing and kept me for life when I saw her lock him up herself. The beauty that spring from her face after that was captivating as the beat throughout the song. Good shit!!
I always thought this song was saying Good Love, Good Love when I heard it on the radio 📻 til I saw the album 🎶 Good Luck Basement Jaxxs is awesome 👏🏾 tho 🔊 🎵 This woman’s voice is epic!
sally-ann day Me too I heard it on the race across the world🌍 TV add and then found it on You Tube Good video great singing vocals Love it! They should re release it Makes a good Inspirational anthem for many
If this track were to go mainstream again right now these kids would loose their minds, they couldn't handle the energy and the artistry that makes up this track as well as the entire album! One thing is for certain... they'd be hooked on Basement Jaxx! lol
If I had Lisa's voice, god I'd never shut up! That's why it just had to be her on this song, her voice hits you hard with its sheer power coming out of her throat, anyone else and it wouldn't have worked!
"Good Luck, Good Luck Good luck in your new bed, Enjoy your nightmares Honey, When your resting your head. A fantastic song to play LOUD when your driving "ANGRY" Sing soo loud. Perfect song for this.
I absolutely love this song..i remember when I first heard it... Which was about 16 years ago now and I fell in love with the lyrics ..because she is telling a story of hurt and betrayal
How can there only by 83,000 views!? I've been a Basement Jaxx fan for many years now but somehow had this one slip past me up until about a month ago! Some fan I am, eh? This song is amazing, it never gets old. The breakdown to the buildup, it gives me goosebumps & gets me pumped every time. Lisa & the other actors in the vid did a pristine job at complementing the song. Every time I see her walk away from that jail cell & finally crack a smile I just think "GO ON, Girl!" & it makes me happy :)
Finally found this! I couldn't remember any lyrics just the melody and that the music video featured a Jill Scott-esque singer driving a car 😂. Randomly a totally different song called "Good Luck" popped up on my streaming playlist and instantly the lyrics to the chorus all came back to me. After a quick google search the rest was history. Memories are weird. 😁
*Basement Jaxx is such a milestone in the music world.... Americans finally heard of Sam Sparro, of course Lisa Kekaula (featured here) n even Vula Maling from Oh My Gosh....* *They've done SOO much for music, film n especially for those that they featured in their history. N this is y I love them*
