It's not uncommon to end up with extra hardware sometimes. This bike is definitely a little different than the Hawk in how things are secured though. It's been rather interesting to watch.
Yes, I was thinking The" Hawk guys" might want to see the difference between the two, I know a lot about the Hawk from the forums and I thought this was interesting, I'm making sure i get close-ups to so every one can pick the bike apart, and I do have left over hardware.
Oh, I forgot to mention, you had the right idea for the PAIR system (Pulsed AIR) injection system. The little hose that runs from the intake pipe to the valve system uses the vacuum from the intake stroke to drive the pump, and the pump then takes the air drawn from the air box and pushes it into the exhaust port. If you do gut the cat, then definitely delete the PAIR system. It won't do any harm, but it will make for some nice pops, bangs, and even flames.
I'm not sure which ones your talking about, are like two thick washers? those are spacers for the brush guards to allow the throttle to turn at the bar ends. hope that helps.
