I know I'm late, but I've just watched your videos today and I gotta say, you have a good looking RC you got there. For a retro RC it's really fast as lighting. My first RC my Dad brought me is a F650 Fastlane Super Crewzer Monster truck that not only goes on all terrain, I can also use it for fast races and the scale of the truck is 1:50 for that size its speed is average fast. Quick question for the RC10 if you were to race it in todays standards since newer rc can reach an greater speed, how would it compete?
@@kennethjoseph9309 Thanks bro! I don’t think it would do well by todays standards. But It handles very well just running it around like in this video. They do have vintage races at some tracks. Pretty cool seining the old vintage buggies out there racing
Amazing. Brings back memories of racing at the local club back in the late 80's with my original 1984 RC10 with a bunch of Team Car upgrades. I remember Ni-Cad SCR batteries being all the rage, high frequency ESC's, hard anodized dampeners, 48 pitch gears, and trying to keep my damn ball bearing differential smooth after a few runs. Good times as a 80's/90's kid.
My first and only hobby-grade RC car was the original release Kyosho Javelin...all the while I was OBSESSING over the RC-10, waiting and waiting and waiting for when it was time to hit up my parents for my next car. Then puberty hit and I forgot all about it. Well, 35 years later and I'm back! I'll probably get the Javelin...sigh.
Thats funny, when I was a kid I had (still have) the RC-10 and was obsessed with my cousin's Kyosho Turbo Optima....i'd still love one, but think i'd rather clean up and update what i've got. Guess I didn't appreciate what I had at the time like I should've....
Mine has been collecting dust for years! Along with My Yokomo 4WD and My Kyosho Optima. I'll definitely resurrect My RC-10 to be "controllable" some of the new cars are insanely quick! Great video! Your car hauls!!
Great video. I just dug my rc10 out that my mom had gotten me in 1985 and reading rc10talk . What's old is new threads 🤔. Going to start with the stealth transmission install 6564 can't find the better 6565 but all metal gears and drill stealth mounting holes as it's an A stamp pan. Should be able to handle 2s 10.5t brushless 🤔
So can a 6gear if you use the newer black idler gears or a steel print from shapeways. Edit: I hope that A stamp chassis was already beat and hacked up before you went drilling holes in it!
OK, you have a great car! Now you need to get a few Astroturf jumps and orange cones and get 3 or 4 guys over and have some fun. I have the cars and radios. All I'm missing is the area for a track. Isn't that just a bummer?
I owned one w bearing kit 179,00 in 1989 they came out with the stealth tranny but then Team Losi had the Jrx pro special edition with neon yellow rims. that one was the best by far.
To me, I would just put a brushed motor super stock motor. I’m running a reedy stock, HW 1060 esc and a 2s lipo. I have that setup in my goldpan, b2 and b4. Brushless are cool, but I stand with brushed motors on older cars. Many of my Tamiya’s and my gold pan, B2, B4 along with my Kyosho monster trucks and Optimas I use brushed super stock motors. You can plenty of fun on a brushed motors. Maybe slower, but still have a lot of fun. Using that brushless system may wear out your tranny in no time unless you have a spare tranny or maybe a stealth tranny. Great run on the rc10 though!
Yeah man, I went back to brushed on this buggy for awhile. But recently went back to brushless again. I dial back the throttle rates to 60% in my dx5 rugged. Runs pretty good. Also, I put the tougher black delrin plastic idler gears in there .
😎👍 I love it I know I have one in my parents' basement stuff from 25-30 years ago I'm going to have to get it back out I just got started this year in February and I already own a KRATON EXB ROLLER roller and notorious 6s the Typhon 6s and a limitless roller that I'm putting together now while watching your video ❤️ last Saturday I just got done putting together a b6.3D with a lay down transmission 👍😁 do you have the room to add a cooling fans and a fan associated fan for life
I believe it’s the stock spur gear. Can’t remember the pinion I put in there. I will have to check. It also has the more durable black delrin plastic idler gears
