Today I'm planning the basic electrical system in my Zenith CH-750 Super Duty. I've mounted the avionics rack and I've started routing some cables through the airframe.

Love your videos! I'm active duty A-10 crew chief, pursuing a B.S. in Aeronautics. I already have my A&P license. I have always dreamed of becoming a pilot, and building my own airplane. But don't have the money, time or space to do so. But thank you for the great videos!

I'm an aircraft structures tech in the RCAF. I bet you're a bit like me and a scrounger for materials. There are a lot of plans built airplanes out there that can be built cheaply in smaller spaces. Your knowledge and skills means you'll do it faster and cheaper than most people can. You're also surrounded by knowledgeable people that can help.

Looking good. I like to use zip ties left in a large loop to initially roughly control wire routing. Then once all wires are in place, the zip ties are easily removed and replaced with Adel clamps or other permanent fixturing.

Your tone of voice as you ended the video (with "see you on the next video") sounded an awful lot like someone saying "See ya!" to ATC... I don't know why I found that funny, but I did. Nice work, as always!

Look at relocating your 50A breaker to the currently unprotected line that feeds the main buss. Currently you have a 50A and a 5A breaker on the same line.

I saw that. The 5amp would go long before the 50-60 as amperage is the same on the pos and neg, besides two breaker/fuses on the same line.. you can fuse either side. I would look at using a normally open relay for alternator isolation that closes when the master is on.

G,day from Sydney Australia. Can you cut, shorten/lengthen the wire on avionics products, without effecting warranty? 🌏🇦🇺

Obviously anything you do on the avionics will probably void the warranty, but Dynon provides two types of cables. Some are finished cables with both ends already finished. Others have one end completed, like the end that plugs into the Dynon, and the other end is just wire. All of those wires are meant to be cut to length.

I figure I’m in the same boat with the engine. I haven’t actually ordered it yet, but I figure there’s a lot of other stuff I can do while I’m waiting.

@@KitplaneEnthusiast Better order an engine... Titan is about a year out, Lycoming probably is shorter lead times if your going that direction.

I would recommend you add a second Network Hub, it gives you more flexibility and future upgrades...

I have to install a second hub anyway because I'm short one slot for the servos.

Thanks for the video! Not looking to start a Dynon v Garmin war; coming from steam gauges I have no preference, is one much more expensive or easier to install? Thx again.

I really can't answer that because I have no experience with Garmin. This is my 3rd airplane with a Dynon panel because I really like the Dynon products. They are easy to use, easy to wire, and look great.
