Basic Mechanical Car Checks 

Hi all,
I have been lucky enough to have worked for a short time in the motor trade ( a long time ago), and part of that job was taking USED cars to a MOT station for Mandatory UK legal roadworthiness checks.
This test can be stressful for some people and also, can end up having some costly consequences due to lack of servicing, preventative maintenance or sheer neglect.
I used to help out the MOT mechanic by doing the lights and fetching and carrying test equipment at the time. I must have participated in over a thousand tests so this has stuck with me for many years and I do these checks religiously before taking the Smarty to have his annual check up.
The tests have changed very little over the years and I cannot do all the current checks but this is how I DO THE CHECKS to prevent getting a fail as much as I can.
