In this video, I will show you my collection of basic small engine repair tools. Everyone should know the exact small engine repair tools needed to operate in this field of work. To clarify, these are NOT ALL the basic tools needed for small engine repair. Small engine repair requires a lot more tools than what is in this video. These basic small engine repair tools are easier to come by than advanced tools. What small engine repair tools do you use? An advanced tools for small engine repair video will be soon published. Enjoy this tool video and let me know if you have any questions regarding small engine repair tools.

Got rid of my 3/8 inch sockets a few years ago. I got a master set of 1/2" drive, metric and SAE, deep and shallow; and got SAE and metric impacts to go with. Also 1/4" drill socket drivers, and separate 1/4" impact rated socket drivers. My 1/4" sockets/ratchets cover all the smaller stuff.

I would recommend using forceps especially for holding fuel lines out on a chainsaw when changing fuel filters so you don’t lose your line back in the tank having to fish it out again with out a filter on can be a pain... and they work great for pinching off fuel lines get a long set they can reach where fingers can’t and for me it’s a huge time saver

Hello Twig, I am leaving a 35 dollar a position at a pharmaceutical company that I hate. I believe I have just about all the tools I need to start repairing and tuning small engines and lawn equipment. My thoughts are that I can offer free pickup and delivery , even for small stuff like chainsaws if they are local. It seems that every place is charging a huge amount or not even offering pickup and delivery. I am in the Phoenixville area outside of Philadelphia and it does not seem like there are many places.I found a Ford Ranger that needs some welding on the frame ( I am a welder and have complete mobile welding setups) that I intend to use with a flatbed to pick up and deliver. I have a Subaru Forester and a 5X8 trailer and a 3000 pound winch for now. What did you spend that 500 dollars on and how did you advertise? Thank you. I would love to talk with you sometime. thanks
@JGsgarage_unboxings

@@jimmypopp2695I used the $500 for tools I didn't have at the moment. Even though I did have alot of the tools I needed. I also used it for stuff I needed to have on hand like oil (regular and 2 stroke oil) sparkplugs. A dremal with the blade sharpener attachment. Cuz I charge anywhere from $5-10 to sharpen blades. And that paid for it itself real quick. Also my main money maker is my ultrasonic cleaner. That paid for itself the 2nd week I had it. And is still getting me money. The main thing to consider is don't go broke buying the latest and greatest tools. You can always get them after you make money. Also with advertising. For me I work in a factory and word of mouth got around real fast. I also got on vista print and had business cards made. They are cheap and do an excellent job. I leave them at the local bars because alot of the people that go there would rather drink all the time instead of maintaining there mowers and weedeaters and stuff. Hope this helps

@@JGsgarage_unboxings This helps immensely!! I want to build a business where I do not have to work another job. The job I am leaving just is not making enough for me to live on and do what i want. I live out in the country and will have an immense amount of customers if I play my cards right. If I could get and keep all my neighbors I would have more work than I could do and would probably have to hire someone. In addition to that there are several lawn cutting services that if I got their business I would be super happy.I do not have the latest or greatest tools but I have all Fill's advanced tools and almost all the ones he lists for starting out. I also build motorcycles and restore vintage tractors soit makes sense to do this. Thank you. Where are you located?

@@jimmypopp2695 oh also. Keep your eyes open for free stuff mowers and weedeaters anything! I have gotten alot of stuff for free that I turned around. Look on Facebook people also sell "junk" lawn care machines for very cheap. But be careful. Cuz it's a gamble. Sometimes machines are Soo far gone you can't fix them so if you cant fix it rape all the good parts off of them and I mean all good parts. Alot of people brought me things that are missing pieces. And I would replace them for a small fee

Two tools you absolutely must have. Probably should be right at the top of the list are a Cylinder Leak Down Tester and a Vacuum/Pressure tester. A compression tester isn’t anywhere near as conclusive as a cylinder leak down tester. Many 4 cycle engines have a compression release which will effect your compression test. For 2 cycle equipment you have to have a vacuum/pressure tester so you can vacuum and pressure test the crankcase and the check valves in the carburetors.

correct me if im wrong if you are using a torque wrench you need to chase threads with a tap and die to get correct torques. i just read as much :) just subbed looking forward to more. i love the idea for the fuel shutoff vise grips

3/8" will do about any fastener on a small engine. As far as range, I honestly couldn't tell you. I know many companies measure using inch pounds instead of ft pounds.

I want you to make a video for high school / grads, and show them how to make money even with part time work and still have FUN. G-son is not too motivated, he does enough to get by, But is motivated for cash$$$$$. But in the real world the 40yr job with gold watch is gone so now you need to have 2/3 side jobs to make ends meet right? Also why you need to be bi-lingual in today's markets.
