Nice gear. Im building up my tool collection this year. I build concrete swimming pool for 14 years now but plan on retiring in the next 8. Im gonna do small engines and pressure washing for something to do to not get bored.

That 24" deep husky is such a nice box. I love those Irwin bolt outs you put on a drill saves so much time on those stripped out phillips. Good to see you again. Hope you are doing well out there.

I do welding and metal fabrication along with a bit of other mechanical and repair work. I will be keeping my air tools for a few reasons. Send me yours if you're over them! I do have two battery operated die grinders in the shop and two on the truck as well as an M12 dyna-file style belt sander I use regularly. But in the shop I keep 5 or 6 air tool die grinders and half a dozen other cutoff, sanding and hammer/chiseling tools set up with different bits in them so I don't have to swap bits as often. The air tools are physically smaller (better for confined access situations), weigh less since they don't have a battery, last longer since they can be lubricated regularly and would be superceded by a newer brushless model next year. They also cost 1/4-1/10 of their battery operated counterparts so my dozen or so at the shop were about the same price as two battery op ones. Really nice video tour of your box, thanks for sharing!!

The 3/8 drive black and red ratchet, I have as well I'm on #6 becasue they either broken or the screw comes loose a lot so make sure to slap some loctite on the screw threads for the flex head if you haven't already. I broke it once working on brakes but I still have the last one I got. Nice box man!

Always make sure you get the HIPA tool set with the HEX bit because some sets do not have it and it is needed more than you know. I am sorry I do not remember which ones off hand.

Do you not have a tool rep come by your shop every week or two ? How do you like the husky tool box over a snap on ? The drawers don’t look very strong on the husky

I’m two years late to the party on this. Can I ask where you got those red organizer bins for your bits and miscellaneous things?

I think those were from milwaukee packout boxes. You can get similar bins from Harbor Freight

Question: Can I just buy the powertools and impact sockets without buying the hand tools?
@dylanburleigh8213
@dylanburleigh8213 Год назад
You definitely can. That said, I’ve worked on small engines most of my life and 95% of the time you can find me with hand tools. Impacts make quick work of disassembling parts but can cause havoc when reassembling. I can’t think of a single job on small engine repairs that would require an impact where hand tools couldn’t do it. I suggest getting hand tools first and then branch out into power tools. Just my $0.02

Not trying to be a ass but im a heavy duty mechanic and those battery tools can’t hang with air tools what i do when normal size is 1” 1/4 up battery tools do t work so air tools are not dead but all tools have their place in different situations they are good to run stuff out or in good tour good set up
@fillslawncare
@fillslawncare 3 года назад
Yeah I agree with you, I still use some of my air tools on occasion. Since I am a small engine mechanic, I can get away with battery operated impacts but I can see how they can be a struggle in the Heavy Diesel Mechanic Trade. I think slowly the battery operated tools will take over air tools in performance and portability. They just need to improve on the reliability part (longer lasting batteries)
