Week long project to get this worked out and here it is. You can basic weave on a twine rug frame loom. Simple and easy to do. Best part it can be completely in much shorter time frame. Go Ahead! Give it a try !
not that i'm aware of. I use them all. the only thing I change is whether it's a small, medium or full size rug. that's determined by the center bar on a twine loom. if you need something smaller, then use the number of pegs to achieve that size.
I love this video! I’ve made 3 rugs after watching your other video - which turned out super great, Thank you a million times, but it is hard on my fingers. I’m now preparing material to make our son and dau in law a couple rugs to hide the damage their pups did to their carpet. This will go so much quicker And maybe be easier on my fingers. You have no idea how much you have changed my life. Seeing the end results of my efforts not only gives me a project for winter but it makes me feel productive. It’s like Wow, I can make some really neat, as in cool, rugs. Something useful and a great way to reuse material. I do have a question I hope you can help me with. When I take the rugs off the loom, the top or bottom ends want to unravel and I have to sew the ends up to stop it. I’m using a loom my husband made, it looks exactly like yours, side rods and all, only I have nails for the pegs. What in the world am I doing wrong?
So glad you are having a wonderful time and loving making rugs. They are a lot of fun to make! Even if you weave on a rigid heddle loom or any loom, the ends have to be dealt with. The twine method, which is what this loom is designed for, handles the issue at the start. Even on my other looms, I sew a hem onto the ends. On the Twine loom, you can keep doing that as it will secure things for you and that's perfect. You could do the twine method on the first one and then begin basic weave as well. There's no wrong way here. You could even make ties at the beginning and ends. Was planning on warping up the twine today anyway, let me see what I can come up with. Keep weaving!!!
