I have used all sorts of mediums for over 50 years and do pretty good with most but airbrushing kicks me in the shins. I have gone to classes over the years but it's like the teachers don't really want you to know what they know so frustration owns me. I have gotten more from your videos than any class I have ever taken. I airbrushed ceramics but that was different because it was flesh or hair and not up close. The details were done with a brush which is no problem. Now mastering a painting is what I want to do. I feel I could do better now so I am going to try to do two paintings to hang on my bare living room walls. Thanks so much for sharing. I really appreciate your help.

I didn't hear what your PSI settings were. Can you tell me what you used for the super-fine detail? Also: Was the paint you used pre-thinned for an airbrush and you further thinned it to 70/30? I'm only asking because it looked pretty thick going into your mixing bottle.

You said the tip protector obstructs the painter's view. In that, is the majority of the painter's viewing from over the top of the brush or from one side? I realize there are many "it depends" situations, however, the best answer for the 'never touched the brush' novice would be ??? Thanks for your reply.

Hello, I enjoy your tutorial videos, and as such, I'd like to ask, I am currently working on Jets and car models. I have a Master G233 airbrush and I want to be able to use a wide spray function. I was first using a Badger 200 siphon airbrush, and I had a great difficult time priming the car body. So I opted to use the New Master Airbrush, which came with 3 type needles. But what I really am concerned with is, being able to spray a wide stream of paint. If you have such a video on this Exact issue, please guide me there. Thx.

In the video, you show a graphic of "PS.2898 & .3 mm". I know that you are using a 3mm needle and that the first number is related to your air pressure. However, I don't know what PS.2898 equates to in PSI. I have 4 airbrushes and am constantly struggling to figure out what the best PSI setting is for each depending on the paint that I am using. In some cases, I am getting really bad tip dry regardless of how careful I am to make sure that I start and end each stroke with air. To the point where I am having to clean the needle off every couple minutes. Is that unusual?

How is it to use an airbrush designed for spraying model kits to make art? I know the Gsi creos (Mr hobby) and Tamiya airbrushes most likely are being produced by Anest Iwata as the airbrush models look identical and their accsessories work on each other. I use the standard Procon boy 0.3 just with a trigger the ps275 and the only detailed work I have tried to do with it are camouflage patterns on model kits. Wery good airbrush, but I guess you use a much finer and newer airbrush by Gsi creos.

When going to detail and fine lines - I personally will go for the best fine Acrylic ink I can buy - I'm my case Schminke Aero Color - Schminke has a cheap brand Akadamie - don't buy it if you want to use 0,3 brush - The paint make the music the finer the pigments the better it's going to - I personally would wish to have the pigment size on the product.

I have an Iwata Neo. I cannot spray fine lines. It will not even spray plain water with the front cap off I guess due to the design. No matter the air pressure or paint type/dilution my finest lines are probably 4-6x wider than your finest ones

I am using a badger 105, and the thing that is preventing me from getting fine lines is actually the lack of smoothness in the trigger. You pull it back and at some point it will kind of stick and gives it a sudden spurt. Its not an issue normally, but with super fine work its just frustrating
@BigAndTall666

I myself shoot without the cap on and if I'm doing t-shirts so I shoot with a much higher pressure 40 to 60 lb when I'm doing t-shirts and I can get an ultra fine line on a t-shirt that way but on a hard surface I agree with you 15 to 30 lb is about to Max depending on the thickness of your paint anyway that's a very good information for beginners and made a living God the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and your endeavors as you go about teaching people how to airbrush I taught for about 20 something years

That’s not a air cap, no aircap, no paint would come out. It’s a tip protector, tip protector fits on the aircap. MAC valves control airflow, only a regulator can control Air pressure. I know I’m picky, but be correct, about what you say!
