Hey John, it’s me again. I was gonna ask when you put the plankes on the bulkhead, do you nail all of them? And if you do nail the planked, do you leave the nail in. I’ll look for a video on it, but would it be possible if you can make a video if you can?
Hey Ibrahim, Yes I nail the "FIRST" Layer of Planking onto the Frames , if needed , but I remove all Nails after the Glue has fully set. Because if you sand the Hull later and you don't remove them you will encounter some Problems. Because the Nail is harder then the Wood Planks and so by sanding them you remove more Wood then Nail, means you will have a lot of Bumps on your Hull. If it happened that your Model has only 1 Layer of Planks, I would recommend do not use any Nails at all because they will leave ugly Holes after you remove them. If it's unavoidable to use Nails do not drive them in up to the Head so you have a small Chance to get away with a very small Hole ,. but most of the Model Kits has already 2 Layers of Planks so you don't have this Problem.
