Finally a great point tracker tutorial. I get so many people that use the planar tracker when they shouldn't. One little feedback: try to mention as many shortcuts as possible to improve workflow for all people, like you can jump to Fusion with shift+5 faster or even hide the bar at the bottom for more space.
August burns red shirt and a 64, lava lamp, and guitar in the background?? Yeah dude. We could definitely be friends! Great work as always, you have such a natural teaching ability, it's a joy to learn from you
very usefull, i found that if you're working with something like text or image you have to add a transform node to be able to position it and resize it to your liking :)
How about tracking some fast movements where the thing you are tracking also goes out of frame and comes back in. If you want to stick the tracking to a person that moves fast.
I troubleshot my tracking for hours a few hours before I figured it out and FINALLY found the ONE youtube clip that showed this (absolutely best) way of doing tracking. This was literally hours before yoy posted your video! :D (so now there's two! I can not believe how many cumbersome other methods people come up with for simple point tracking appliances, that they share tutorials on online. It's by my standards in some way negative training. As THIS obviously is the absolutely best way of doing the tracking quickly and easily. Even though there was this other guy who also had this way of doing it on youtube, your tutorials are the best! There are so much misinformation when it comes to good workflow. You teach a proficient workflow, not goofing around. PS! I think a smile or two to the camera would do wonders (seriously). Smile eith your eyes. I know you're a great guy. let other people see your smile :))) sorry for sounding like a new-age-fellow haha xD love your content. Keep it up! I'll continue coming back regardless ofc! Forgive me :))
Casey, I've been a sub for a while now. I have to say you always make me laugh but more importantly you always help me learn. Although this video is old, it's still gold. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and making it fun in the process.
I would like to know how to fix tracking manually when the tracker loses its target. I was searching for a video to fix my problem but there is literally none
thats a really REALLY good point... there are many how to's under perfect conditions (flat image tracking right to left for example) but lets see a series of how-to-get-out-of-dodge same for camera tracker 3d, planer tracker, this tracker.... we all get stuck and need some guidance before we break a coffee cup
Man, thank you so much for this tutorial. I could not get my text to follow what I tracked, then I came back to this video and found that I forgot to set the "Operation" to "Match Move", gezz!!
idunno if this helps you at all, but. I'm not subscribed, because I don't want a whole bunch of Davinci Tutorials showing up on my subscription page, of things I probably don't need to know. My sub page is for the haha videos. That being said, if I search for a video to help with any Da vinci query I have, and I see YOUR name, I immediately click. You are the guy that does it best and most comprehensively. So i KNOW your name and you've gotten lots of views from me. So, take that for what you will. keep up the great work!
Duuude you literally saved me so much frustration... Been trying to find an easy way to track and wham! You hit it on the head. Thanks bugger!! Rocking the content dude, thanks!
I want to have a smilie track the speedo of my motorbike from GoPro footage from a chesty mount. How would I do that in resolve? The bike moves around loads so I’m struggling to find something of high contrast that’s always in view?
SHIFT-SPACEBAR thanks for saying that shortcut explicitly. i couldn't for the life of me figure out how to re-find out how to automagically pull up the tools list/search popup
Do you need to cut out a section of the overall clip if you just want a couple seconds of text to appear and then disappear as part of the same full clip? And when I clicked track forward, the tracker went crazy and started flying all over the place but the video preview didn't move at all.
Hey, i was wondering... What if you like the text move into the camera view and exit it on the other side . . That tracking node would be lost . The point of interest is also out of the picture and thus no tracking data . ( Right ? ) How to work around that ? Thank you for this small simple tutorial . 👍
Thanks dude! How do I track a mask in Fusion? I have video of car reversing into garage- interesting! I am trying to mask backround away and grade it seperately. Then i would have control over back and foreground. I tried keyframes, but that way seems time consuming. Is there better way to track mask so that it would follow the car reversing from beginning to end? Thanks!
