Basil Rice | rice recipes | lunch recipes | christmas | new year | easy recipes
(please note: you can use any cheese while blending)
Cooking rice:
Rice - ½ cup
Water - 4 cups
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Method:
1. Keep 4 cups of water to boil on high flame.
2. Add little salt to this.
3. Add 2 tbsp of oil.
4. Bring this to boil.
5. Add the soaked rice.
6. Lower the flame as soon as this starts to boil.
7. Once rice is cooked up-to 80%, strain the rice using a fine-mesh strainer.
8. Keep this aside.
To blend:
Basil - 2 cups
Pine seeds - 1 tbsp
Olive oil - 3 tbsp
Cheese - 25 gms
Method:
1. Add all the above ingredients to a blender and blend coarse.
Making Basil rice:
Olive oil - 3 tbsp
Green/ Red chilli - 1
Carrot (cubed) - ¼ cup
French beans - ¼ cup
Yellow capsicum - ¼ cup
Green capsicum - ¼ cup
Red capsicum - ¼ cup
Tomato - 1 (small)
Salt - to taste
Method:
1. Keep a pan on low flame and add 3 tbsp of olive oil.
2. Add 1 green/red chilli.
3. Add ¼ cup of cubed carrot.
4. Add little salt to this.
5. Now add ¼ cup of French beans along with ¼ cup each of yellow capsicum, green capsicum and red capsicum.
6. Add little salt.
7. To this add 1 small chopped tomatoes.
8. Cover and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes.
9. Uncover and add the blended mixture and cook for 5 minutes.
10. To this add the cooked rice.
11. Mix well.
12. Basil rice is ready.
13. Serve hot.
