I think I learned more about actual basketmaking from this seven-minute video than from all the very lovely books on basketmaking I've seen...very inspiring, almost like having a live class.
I was never taught how to do a keeper row! This is wonderful! My base kept sliding around when i was making it! This is a fantastic step! I knew I was going to learn a lot from you! Perfect. Thanks so much for this servide you are doing for so many of us in the great land of youtube! Blessings have probably already come winging your way!
I gotta say... I wasn't even too interested in basket weaving until I saw your videos, but just because of your sweet and patient personality I went out and gathered a few supplies to give it a try... and now I'm hooked! Please keep making videos, they are awesome!
I've been enjoying your videos. I was a novice basket weaver years ago and I am now interested in weaving again. Not having made a basket in so long, your videos have helped to remind and motivate me. I have a friend that wants to learn also, so I'm a bit more confident to help her learn. Thanks so much:)
At the time I made those videos RU-vid limited me to only 10 minutes of video at a time so please watch the videos in order. I was really limited in the amount of information I could give in each video. You will learn in a previous video that the reed has to be soaked in water in order to make it pliable so that it may be woven. Hope this helps!
Woudl you know where a beginner can get all the materials neede for basket weaving, ordering online or something? I live in Canada and not sure where to get the stuff...
