Brilliant those days are the ones the boys will remember for ever, fishing, in a camp, food etc. building the next generation of fishermen. Hats off to you john
Cracking video John last time I went to go to Bangor pier it was closed for repair, a little tip for you put a couple of old plain fishing weights in the seam on the bottom of your drop net attached with tie wraps it helps get the net down under the fish and stops it being a kite in high winds. Tight lines
I fished Amlwch in the mid-70s, and we used to get plenty of conger off that breakwater. It's nice to see Bangor pier in such good condition. In the 70s, it was in such a bad condition that you weren't allowed on it. This is the first video I've ever seen with fishing from the pier. Thanks for sharing.👍
Great team effort in bad bad conditions, all came together in the end,so good to see the lads enjoying themselves, cograts on a great video and channel bud
great to see putting back fish well done, fine to keep some but nice to put most back and keeps the fun in the fishing for generations. another great video well done to the young lads too great to see, reminds me of myself when i was young 😁
Nice watch John well done on the Bass and a bigger well done for returning it safely nice to see kids out enjoying themselves too,we don't see enough of it
great to see you and the kids enjoying the fishing together they are really into it well done those noodles you use on pier rail where do you get them what they called nice if not much room for tripod tight lines
Thanks John, enjoying your adventures. I would have invited that Bass to dinner! Perfect spot for storm fishing. I'm from Colwyn and used to fish the beach from low tide up whenever a proper northerly storm was blowing... it was tough, wet n cold but Bass were everywhere in the surf loving those conditions... even reeled in two fish together on the same rig a few times! I don't know what it's like now since they brought in all that sand, looks nice, protects the prom I guess but the ecology for now has had a shock to say the least.
Used to fish the pier over 30 year's ago with my dad used to get plagued by crabs lol saw a good few huge plaice taken fishing of to the right of the pier before the mussel beds started getting dredged was always a good day 😊 great catch mate 😊
If paused to comment so forgive me if you do what I'm thinking later in the show in regards to your drop net you can snap on a few heavy leads it still would be tricky but atleast it would be closer in if not straight down, anyway you'll probably do it in a minute after I press play lol 😉again I've paused to ask , did you see any flatfish??? I bet you were happy to have that shelter I've fished in weather like that sitting in the car watching rods over the end of the pier lol that poor lad sounded absolutely knackered fighting a bass in a drop net against all that wind great team effort 👌oh I forgot to ask do you have a size limit on bass for the table over there? It only came about in the last 12 months all bass have to be between 50cm to 60cm and wonder what the size limit is for you?? Great show, I know I'm awful for rambling but it's cuz you put in alot of effort on this trip to bring us some entertainment I think you deserve a thx and hope you don't mind answering my questions. Ttfn looking forward to your next adventure.
John…..what can one say. Elevated to Super Nutter status lol. What a star and them 2 boys are stars in the making. Great vid again mate, its cheered up this Brit in exile no end. Bring on the next one 🇺🇸👍
Another great watch John used to fish Bangor pier we did what you did but there was another hut on the other Corner so depending where the wind was coming in you were covered remember one nice afternoon summer fishing the other side where you were didn’t get one bite but there were 4or 5 big bass near the surface ….we didn’t catch a cold 🤣🤣but loved it 👌🏼
I’ve been lucky enough to get into some double figure bass off piers down here on the Isle of Wight. All have been on running ledgers with a big mackerel bait. And in crap weather as well! Great vid mate and nice to see the next generation coming through. No fair weather fisherman allowed!😂
Do they still allow an all nighter on the pier. Fished through the night a few years ago you could hear the bass smashing into the Sand eels through the night didn’t catch any though
Great video johno bet it would fish good on a none windy day hope you do a nover section on their with Mike to get his head back in too fishing after all them people how been trying to bully him after caching tope hope you can get him out soon all the best from Paul from Staffordshire England 🇬🇧 👍
Yes mikes had a lot of crap for catching them tope…. It’s just pure jealousy nothing else to it…. Mikes fine tbh we’re both laughing at all the petty idiots that don’t like it
Sorry pal, tried hard to watch, but the camera movement was making my head spin. Well done getting out there with the kids in those conditions. Tight lines.
Cheers buddy everything’s normally filmed on a tripod but this was a spare of the moment crazy session with a lot of rushing about when the bass turned up unexpectedly 😂
Smasing video was there last weekend on my outing for the weekend but didnt fish it as was 8 am coming out of penmon point thanks for the info deffo be on my list on the 25 when bk out that way
Great video mate bought back some very happy memories of Fishing round there with my mate who sadly passed away at Xmas. Brilliant to see the lads enthusiasm for fishing all with the safety gear on. You're an inspiration John bless you mate 👍
Tbh I’m surprised nobody was on there, the lady in the hut said nobody ever fishes it and they’re trying to raise money to fix the pier up…. Hopefully this video can get plenty of anglers there to raise some cash to help fix it up and secure plenty more years of fishing on there 🎣
