I was stopped in Southampton Water last week (it's a bass nursery) and they checked the size of the mackerel. It's 20 cms, fortunately all mine were above that but I too would have kept a small one for bait. You learn something every day. Enjoyed the video especially as my family used to have a little flat overlooking the estuary and spent many a happy hour bass fishing there.
I’ve not been stopped myself but fisheries have definitely been patrolling this area too and looking at recreational boats as well as commercial. Thanks for watching 👍🎣🎣
Meanwhile 400 migrants cross the Channel! Although fisheries, there does to be a drift in importance between 20cm mackerel and an invasion into our society.
Its lovely when you land right time right place on topwater bass like that. Well done. On Mackerel my understanding is you can use smaller than 20cms joeys for live bait on the day whilst out at sea, but you cant land any undersize fish to freeze down for bait. But I stand to be corrected! Thanks for posting 👍
Good work sir, can you recommend a slipway with good parking in the Salcombe area to launch a 21 foot boat thinking about taking a week to come down to fish. I normally fish out of Lymington so fancy a change of scenery.
