Instagram: @davidwiththelonghair Show some love to the incredible beatboxers I reviewed in this video! Links to their videos: Audical: • Video MTS: • MTS | INSANE VOCAL B... D-Low: • 1 MINUTE DUPSTEP BEATB...
So well spoken mate, you have caught the beatbox bug now for sure!! Should check out some other beatboxers with crazy basses Inertia, Mix Fx, Alexhino, Codfish, Reeps One, Slizzer I could keep going but you will fall down the rabbit hole sure enough 🤙🏻
9:10 This "inward lip buzz" is called a "inward lip roll", and this is an extremely popular technique in the beatbox community. It permits to hit ridiculously low notes, and it's very powerful on mic
If you thought these three are incredible, you should check Inertia out on your spare time, specifically the "Reckless" video he has. Is an entire routine based on throat bass, vibration bass, a lot of inward bass as well. He gathers all the techniques and combines them into his own thing.
Inertia is a beast - I wanted to include him in this video, but I ran out of space! If I do a "part 2", I'd say there is a good chance he will make an appearance 😁
@@davidlarson3905 love the in depth researching and reporting that you're doing. A big thank you from me and the beatboxing community for introducing our mainstream existence to the singing community! :)
David Larson what exactly are the mechanics behind what we beatboxers call vibration bass? It’s not chest bass (what you call the “growl”), or throat bass (kargyraa of throat singing, you say that it’s caused by the false vocal chords or vestibular folds, and I say it comes from the arryetnoid cartilage). What causes it? And btw, there is a type of inward bass that does NOT use the vocal folds. It’s basically the ingressive version of chest bass (what you call the “growl”) and there’s Audical favored variation that is the “high vocalized” inward bass, basically ingressive falsetto plus the regular inward bass mentioned before. YOUR “inward bass” or ingressive phonation, is actually not our inward bass, we call this inwards vocal fry, frog bass, or Ive heard that vocal fry is also called “strohbass” in the study of vocal techniques and anatomy. So I would also call inward vocal fry “inward strohbass”, which is a lot LESS “acid-y”, bubbly, and subwoofer-y than the rattley,, “robotic” inward strohbass that you use and beatboxers napom and dandry use this too
Btw David, I guess you answered my own question, vibration bass is that 2nd subharmonic bass mts was using, you do a very good vibration bass btw!! In mechanics, would it be any different than throat bass?
"Audical - Headbangers" Audicals insane inward high pitch bass in action "INERTIA | RECKLESS" An older video but golden in terms of pure bass control "Tomazacre - Nuclear" Unique alien like bass 3 great videos that came to mind when you asked for recommendations.
The first guy, Audical has the most variations of inward bass out of anyone in the beatbox community. He easily can do more than 10 different ones I'd say. Insane.
It’s amazing how well you can tell what they’re doing without knowing how to do some of the techniques. You also nailed the fact that the beatbox community names a bunch of sounds incredibly vaguely. You should definitely do more of these!
I love this video man. Literally it's so much going on in this video. We would love to see a second part including maybe Codfish, Inertia, Tomazacre, Bigman or OneDrain
Audicals "singing" part isn't full on karygura (throat bass), it's only false cords - Another similar beatboxer is Inertia (I'd recommend his high middle low track on youtube). The bass used by MTS that you referenced as the "2nd subharmonic" is called vibration bass by beatboxers. D-low's inward bass uses a glottal stop over the inward bass to give it that sound. It's still inward bass but.... different? I'd recommend the following beatboxers if you wanna do this again: Codfish (nothing crazy, beautiful utilization of throat bass), Show-go (he does some crazy "double voice" techniques), PWAD (beautiful "vocal bass" - different from throat bass), Inertia (afore mentioned).
i watched your subharmonic singing videos when i was in a cappella so i could improve my bass range, and now i have been beatboxing for four years, and ive come across your channel again! would LOVE to see more!!
@@marcelloberry6829 Hey mate, I'd love to join that channel, but it seems the invite has expired. Can you send one again? Or invite me: General_Jeno#1337
a very deep bass is Tomazacre's Iron Bass, that he used in his solo performance in GBB2019. I think it's a good example of an inward Throat bass. Also, Codfish uses both vocal folds in his throat bass in order to create a powerful singing in his pieces.
Inertia has some nice well developed inward bass tones but doesn’t have nearly as many variations or as much mobility as audical does if you look at their current material.
Dr SchitKunt I’ve seen both live and I must say, I feel Inertia’s bass way more than Audical. Audical definitely has more variation and speed but inertia’s inward bass is just something I can’t explain, it’s just so overpowering. Just like how I feel that codfish’s throat bass hits different than other people out there as well as Napom’s liproll hitting harder than anyone else.
I really thank you for giving us your professional look at exactly what MTS is doing with his vocals your in depth knowledge on this is inspiring thank you
I really like this reaction because you are experienced in vocals so you give an amazing insight into everything they are doing and it's very interesting.. subbed and post notifications ON
When it comes to inward bass recommendations, Tomazacre is definitely on the list. He's got the wettest inward bass I've ever heard (or the other inhale bass as you said as it is quite wet).
React to MB14! He is one of the most original beatboxers I've ever seen!! His style is based on combining vocals with beatbox. His voice is like from heaven! In addition to being on the beatbox scene, he was also on The Voice of France and on many other stages! You should necessarily see Mb14 Journey to nowhere or Mb14 German Beatbox Championships Showcase!
Hey man thanks so much for doing this, your analysis is very intriguing and offers a great perspective! I would love to see you react to the Chilean champion Tomazacre, he has a very unique bass technique and Id love to see your explanation about how he does it!
Now this is a proper reaction vid man, you pause every once in a little while to give a bit of commentary, and you actually REACT through verbal response unlike a million reaction channels who just have themselves sitting there watching the video without any substantial response (basically stealing other people's content and trying to get views and money for it) which is disgusting. Well done on this vid
Haven’t seen one comment yet about Heartzel’s “feel the power”...most ridiculous house drop with inward bass/whistling variations I’ve ever heard period..
Do more of these! I love to hear a vocal performer outside of beatboxing commenting on how they hear the bass and their interpretations of how they do it. You should do a reaction of inertia if you like inward bass, he’s on d-low and Audicals level. Or if you want more structured musical stuff loopstation battles are always awesome!
Hey man, I just discovered your channel, im Iearning so much from these videos! great work! What i would be interested in seeing is you trying the different things youre explaning, and actually try beatboxing! Its just a great instrument really. And I really like watching your tutorials, they make me aware that there are still allot of human sounds yet to be discovered !
Codfish has throat bass. Just developed notit really that impressive anymore. Trung bao and Dlows inward are the same trung is just an cleaner. Only person you said is zacre and yeah he shoulda checked his better routines
@@retrofeels9608 His melodies define him and the championship he won in GBB 2019, he isn't trash he's just not that invested in learning a heck lot of techniques and just at competing for everything. He clearly does it out of pure enjoyment.
This video is awesome man! Had to sub :) it's great how you can define what bass they are doing like 2nd subharmonic etc. Gonna watch some tutorials to learn some new voice bass :)
Damn, I haven't seen a beatbox video in almost a year and seeing this in recommended bought back some really good and nostalgic memories, good video tho :)
