If it wasn't for the success of Tim Burton's Batman would we have today's versions of Batman in the movies ... And remember when WB tried to turn Batman back to corny Batman with Val Kilmer and Clooney it failed miserably and there wasn't a Batman movie for 8 years till Nolan's Batman which went back to a serious darker tone like Burton's Batman.

This Bruce is more human than previous counter parts, he makes mistakes and DID fall down into the abyss that Batman:Under the Red Hood mentions. He comes back and becomes a batman who doesn't kill again because he found hope again and started believing I'm faith because Superman showed him that people are still good, the whole theme that plays during the warehouse scene is called Men are still good...see why? Bruce is fighting his urge to kill and by the end of BVS he stops killing. He isn't punisher with money, he's a batman who lost himself and came back to being the hero we know. Its expertly crafted and really explores the character in a way that honestly no other batman writer had the balls to explore. It was risky and paid off to people who understand and see it, it's sad to see that people still don't understand the full vision. One day that will change.
