The name is known but if there are few subscribers? Surprised Discovery+ has subscribers because I hadn't heard of it before. I thought Peacock was the weakest of streaming.
@@Foxarocious Aren’t those folded in with standard HBO numbers though as Grace says? If HBOMax was really doing what it needed to then this wouldn’t be happening. All of those films WB dumped on MAX simultaneously last year and 99% of them didn’t move the needle. That price tag is a problem. So if they fold it into Discovery+ and drop the price a bit? They could be onto something. Zaslav knows things we don’t so… P.S. I’m sure that if you are already subscribed to HBOMax you will automatically roll over into the new system just as HBONow subscribers were automatically converted to MAX when it launched. And hey, you might see a price cut. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for taking the time to mention crew. For us it’s not about trying to get our name out there because half of us didn’t expect to be in the credits anyway, but really wish people could have seen some of the sets. Feel genuinely gutted for the directors and LG who were lovely to everyone right down to cleaners, security team etc. I remember when the directors arrived one day they made sure to say Hi to everyone and fist bumped us all outside the set.
I hear ya Lydia, I've been without credit or miscredited so often for YEARS. Drives me nuts, especially when I feel like I'm really carrying a project.
I disagree. A lot of people work on projects that never see the light of day. It’s simply part of the business and we all get it. Maybe this even saved some embarrassment.
Honestly I’m shocked HBO max is performing at a level that warrants this. I’ve legitimately never heard of Discovery+ but remember being very excited for HBO Max and I feel like they put out solid content, as for the DC stuff frankly I feel it is long overdue for a reset I just wasn’t expecting it to be so messy.
Totally agree here. HBO Max should have a far better appeal than Discovery. The only thing Discovery has for it is sports right in europe. Aside from that, it's biggest competitors is RU-vid, and I don't see any world where wallstreet investors want WarnerDiscovery to compete against RU-vid. Sticking to mainly scripted content should be a no brainer for brands like Warner and HBO. Eurosport is kind of like ESPN of Europe, and that is all Discovery has of value. The rest is awful. It would be better to just keep the sports content on Discovery, and move the rest over to HBO Max, though maybe the Max app itself might not have the best layout. Unless we also see a massive boost in announcements for game of thrones shows, and DC content soon, the stock will collapse from this
@@rp1692 You may say that's a huge conflict of interest. They should rebrand and do warner app and have a tab for hbo and another discovery content. Discovery is mostly associated with animal, documentary and sports content and HBO for entertainment content
If HBO Max gets dissolved into Discovery+ and they start to focus on unscripted programming, it's an honest to god tragedy. HBO Max has easily been the most consistently high-quality streaming service out there, absolutely wrecking the competition in that regard with Love Life, Harley Quinn, the WB film releases, and of course all of HBO's content. This decision, if true, is absolutely moronic.
I like some of the content on HBO Max, but there really isn't a metric that justifies claiming it's wrecking the competition. Hacks is its only critical success. The subscriber numbers are an unknown quantity because they haven't released them without combining with HBO (which probably means they are bad). The WB film releases haven't dominated the box office in any way, so it's not likely they are dominating other film releases on Disney+ and Netflix. They also haven't been that great. HBO's content has nothing to do with HBO Max, so none of its numerous successes can be attribute to the streamer. If they do decide to do away with original streaming content, and I agree that would be a bad idea, that won't effect HBO. I'd be shocked if the HBO catalogue won't still available on Discovery+. If he only cares about Discovery+, that is a no brainer.
@@jaydubs1720 Right there with you Jay. I have had HBO, in my home, in some form or another since 1982 or 3. Discovery Channel, History Channel, TLC, when they actually produced content that thier names described were wonderful. This mindless scriptless BS is for the birds. I'll probably start (voraciously) reading books again, which may not be a bad thing.
Genuinely one of the most shocking entertainment stories I've seen in awhile. Movies at this scale from major studios just don't get canned like this. Especially after principal photography has wrapped. Yeah, stuff might get paused weeks or even days before the shoot starts. But not even throwing this up on digital is unprecedented.
Alright buckle up....first off, this had to be the worst ever, the premise of oh its not theatrical enough is bullshit...rumors are flying about disagreements between WB and DC mainly about overall direction and story furthermore its all surrounding the Flash, apparently the plot was integral to the future of the DCEU and what DC planned all their upcoming projects around, WB basically wants them to abandon that and cheaply rearrange all that but DC is sticking to their guns as hard as they can but Ezra aint making it easy for anyone...the Flash is also rumored to already have been reshot and changed to completion and will eliminate Millers iteration so thats solved but WB doesnt wanna pull the trigger right now understandably....this leaves the DCEU in utter limbo and running out of money to burn.....and now its all up Shazam and Black Adam
If Grace is right and there's hardly any subscribers for HBO max, then what good is it? But Discovery doesn't mean anything to me; I thought it was a Star Trek series.
Here’s a theory: they want to stop diluting the brand. Batman (and someday Superman) are going to go back to being marquee movie characters that get people hyped when a new movie is coming. To be honest, making Batman a character in a made for TV movie was always sketchy.
Think back to Batman & Robin 1997 and how that movie literally killed the Batman franchise for a decade. It’s still a punchline 25 years later as remember the Bat Credit Card? Better they not release it and you take the PR hit now, then release it and be a punchline forever.
@@chrisolivo6591 agreed. I’m also thinking about Star Wars. Again, it used to be pretty much synonymous with blockbuster, but now there’s a SW series every 3 months and everyone is like “eh, I’ll maybe stream it later”.
I can’t wait for a retrospective documentary in 20-30 years about the whole DCEU saga from Man of Steel to these final movies. Kinda like the Blade Runner and Alien saga documentaries with all the people involved. Will be so interesting to breakdown and get the full picture eventually! 🍿
it's not like HBO is going away. it's just folding in. discovery plus actually has a functional UI. I've never had problems with it. probably won't be that big of a change for most people
My favorite streaming service at the moment is Paramount+ because, you know, “Star Trek”. After that “Disney+” is hanging in there, followed by “HBO Max”. (Netflix is about to go on “churn” status. I only have 2 shows I’ve been viewing there (“Umbrella Academy” and “Cobra Kai”); so I’ll drop them until those shows have new seasons.) I’m currently viewing about a dozen shows on “HBO Max” so this is kinda’ depressing …
"Don't forget to turn the lights off on your way out Dwayne" 🤣🤣🤣 I think this is a clear sign that the DCU is going to start fresh. If they decide to keep The Batman separate and not build on it, I would love to see you do a video of what new and fresh talent that they could start the new DCEU off with??? Love your content, keep up the great work.
Zaslav seems to like The Batman and Joker stuff especially bc its separate. So I feel like they're all safe. He probably sees it as Oscar potentials for the studio.
I’d be curious to see what a new DC cinematic universe looks like and how WB Discovery start it off. Hopefully whatever path they choose, whether it’s that or salvaging this DCEU, they show some love for my J’onn and release a Martian Manhunter movie
So does everyone get recast? I mean you don’t bring Dwayne The Rock Johnson for one movie and tell him to take a hike? Is Mamoa, Levy, and Gal the only ones who remain? It’s really hard to be a DC fan
I'll be honest, I wasn't looking forward to this film in the slightest but I still feel bad for a lot of the people involved. Never seen anything like this. And as harsh as it is I think the only positive is that this was done in good faith, for the betterment of the franchise at large instead of just saving a few bucks. If only they could've done this with Josstice League too
Imagine having one of the best streaming services and a very large variety of content there but since they wanted immediate millionaire profits they are dumping all that to the trash, very sad cuz it was my second favorite streaming service
It's being absorbed because it was poorly conceived and the 45 day release window debacle is probably the biggest reason Discovery took over in the first place. Making "straight to HBO Max" DC movies is a terrible strategy, period. Look at the Disney+ shows. They're hit or miss and honestly quantity over quality. DC has a lot of work to do before they can get away with that.
@@DReppin2009 but HBO Max has original TV shows some of which are Emmy favorites and very popular. Hacks and Flight Attendant for example. I agree the straight to HBO Max for movies is likely not best concept but removing HBO max and folding it into Discovery+ is beyond stupid. Removing scripted HBO max shows is not the route to go.
Since we dk what they are doing with HBO proper it may just mean all the scripted movies and shows go there and Discover+ becomes reality tv shows, docuseries and the news. Because we also dk what their news division will look like either. This is either going to be very good and be a leaner business model or we are about to see a whole lot more drama for it crashed burn.
I am taken aback by all this. The one positive thing I get from all that's happening is knowing that the people in charge actually are capable of making decisions and not continue to string things along. I thought SDCC was bad for DC, but maybe it will all be for the best, not much of a choice than to hope. At this point, I just want to see where everything ends up once the dust is settled.
Yes! I was never a fan of what hamada was doing with DC and these characters he was making movies about were those that should have come after dc was done with characters like superman and batman etc
@@barnybee2229 The Synderverse is virtually finished. The only thing keeping it barely alive is whether Henry Cavill ever returns as Superman. As Grace has said in this video it looks like Aquaman 2 will be the last movie of that era, which means Gal Gadots WW will probably not be returning with, thus the DCEU as we've known it will be gone.
It really does blow my mind that DC has the most well known interesting and loved characters but just can't get their act together to create a coherent universe.
DC has probably the 2 biggest comic book characters ever and they can’t get their act together. Superman and Batman should be the heart and soul and anchoring the DC universe just as Iron Man and Captain America were for the majority of the MCU.
Seems like they thought they could just shortcut it straight to their version of "The Avengers", not realizing the years of buildup and work Marvel put into making that film work the way it did. The result was Josstice League and the DCEU has never recovered.
You don't need a Universe though. Just do Batman movies, Superman movies, Wonderwoman movies. They never need to meet (and they NEVER should have merged in the comics). They all exist in their own universe, and keep it that way. You mess one up, it doesn't affect the others. It always annoyed me, back in the days when the comics were a thing, that they shoehorned them into common stories, "just because". It was always so forced, and just messed up all the storylines.
Whether the film is deemed big enough or not for the new DC vision, the film should still be released. Allow people to discover it, to enjoy it, and the filmmakers to feel a sense of pride. The move to completely shelve it is all for show IMO and that’s what makes this so heartbreaking for the talent involved. They’re being used as entertainment pawns.
How do I feel? I feel like HBO has gone through more streaming name changes than their are other streaming services combined 😵😵😵 Can they just settle on a name and stick to it? Stability in a name gives stability to your base!
The drama and intrigue behind the scenes at Warner Bros is legitimately starting to outshine most of their actual movies in terms of sheer entertainment value. kek
I'm especially interested to see how the rest of Hollywood reacts to this, this is beyond unprecedented, this is the type of stuff that just flat out doesn't happen, crazy
I mean, I know this is what a lot of us have been clamoring for for years, to have WB/DC wipe the slate clean and start over and do it right... but to actually see it happen? it still blows my mind. WBD had better make it up to Adil El Arbi, Bilal Fallah and Leslie Grace.
@@MaxxRemKing1 better late than never. They still have an area where Disney is too afraid to really often touch, and that’s the R rated film scene, even if Disney is slowly trying to be edgy by moving some rated R films to Disney plus, the caution is still there by Disney when it comes to marvel. So discovery can definitely use this to their advantage. But of course, finding good directors that actually make quality films is a must.
I don't know. WB can't really make their mind up at all if they want DC films to be standalone or interconnected so hard like MCU. I mean, since 2013 they had Man of Steel universe, then another universe Joker, then another The Batman universe. Confusing and Perplexing even more when they added Keaton in a new Batgirl film.
I heard actors negotiate for their next role when their current movie is about to be released. Crew may have already moved on, but now they don't get credit that anyone can see.
Its about Brand. If Batgirl is a horrible flop that makes say $100 million. The studio only gets back a portion of that. Let's say WB stands to make back $50 million if they release Batgirl. Ok they made back $50 million right? Except that Batgirl carries the DC brand and more importantly the Batman name. If Batgirl is fucken terrible and leaves a bad taste in people's mouth then the next Matt Reeves Batman could be qffected by it. The next Batman has good will with the casual audience right now. So much so that people think the sequel could get be a $1 Billion movie. But if Batgirl is terrible, then you could be costing Batman big time. Possibly hundreds of millions. Not to mention the other DC movies. Think about it. Is $50 million worth it? You could lose hundreds and hundreds of millions.
@@sandal_thong8631 executives have not liked good movies at times especially when it comes to comic book movies because they tend not to be fans so their tastes are different so they make what they think people will like vs what is actually good.
@@criticclips1560 Are you Wanda Maximoff? As you're warping reality here... It's interesting how your take away from all this is that Marvel (that's about to start Phase 5) is somehow the one in trouble with diminishing returns, & not DC Warner with its: public scandals, multiple failed streaming-services & now shelved movie(s). Especially when compared to Disney Marvels success, even within their own failures.
Starting with a new clean slate for DC is probably a good thing if they pull it off, but I feel really sorry for all the talent involved. I hope they are given great new opportunities.
I was always expecting the Discovery guy to fold HBO/Warner into Discovery rather than the other way around, even though that's stupid. Discovery+ doesn't have a storied brand, people who want to watch 90 Day Fiance will go where you tell them. Putting HBO quality content onto the TLC History Channel Discovery+ devalues the HBO and Warner brands
That’s exactly what I’m saying. It feels so weird. Imagine seeing timeless and classic shows like curb, the sopranos, and Barry on the same service as 90 Day Fiancé, and my 600 pound life. It’s so distasteful to me
It could be that he knows competing in the streaming wars is not worth it and Warner is better off craving their own niche. Creating a streaming platform that is smaller but more profitable.
I'm done. Sell DC property rights to another studio. Disney? At this point, I wouldn't mind. At least, Marvel releases its content. *wink* (Imagine the crossovers! Superman vs. Hulk!) Personally, Paramount owning DC would be the best imo
Actually as a DC fan I'm loving it. Aquaman was fantastic, Wonder woman was too and the Batman was a masterpiece. If you think that's bad you clearly don't read comics or play games.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 The fact that you only mention 3 good DC movies out of 15 DCEU movies for the past 10 years and 1 of those 3 movies you mention is not even a part of the DCEU tells me that you are very clueless and ignorant about the whole DC/WB real situation
Its a shame we will never see those completed movies somewhere... but I think this might be for the best. DC needs a hard reset so there can be a single vision and roadmap for the future. I just pray he has good ideas
As a massive MASSIVE DC comics fan, I feel like they're continuing to torture me. I love the MCU but DC is where my heart is and these characters and the rest of us fans just dont deserve this bs over and over. Gave myself a headache getting so mad about this today. We can barely ever catch a break...
A friend of mine works at the financial department of WB/Discovery. He told me Discovery+ is HUGE, especially internationally, because cable providers internationally offer "packages" at extra cost that have several extra "premium" channels in them. Discovery+ is in a lot of those packages so the revenue is immense as they get a percentage of those package deals. And on top of that there's the direct subscribers to the channel in the US.
"Warner Bros Discovery DC Breakdown" in the title has a double meaning today - Grace is breaking the situation down, and WB/Disco/DC themselves appear to be breaking down.
Tbh Grace is just having a breakdown cause her old sources are gone. Tough spot she’s in. I definitely think David Zaslav made the right move. The universe Hamada proposed was a mess and convoluted. It doesn’t even make sense for Michael Keaton to be the main the Batman in an entirely new universe. Would’ve been ideal to see Tim Burton return if he was returning but they were just trying to cash in on cheap nostalgia rather than the real craftsman who brought the OG Batman movie.
Really makes me wonder what’s going to happen with The Penguin show, The Batman sequel. If I was Matt Reeves I be anxious as hell. Btw I never EVER hear anyone talk about Discovery +, HBOMAX on the other hand. Oh and Michael Keaton not returning would be a damn shame after all the publicity it’s created over the year because fans obviously want his return.
Reeves is in Zaslov’s good graces so he and anything he produces is fine. Zaslov himself has gone on the record that what Reeves did with the Batman is what he envisions for DC films going forward. So no, I wouldn’t be anxious at all
While I understand the decision WBD made for the Batgirl movie, I’m really sad for the cast and crew behind it, especially Michael Keaton and Brendan Fraser; and this is coming from a huge Snyderverse fan. I hope Leslie Grace gets another chance at playing Barbara Gordon, and I hope we can at least have Michael Keaton return in a Batman Beyond movie.
@@Edge439 i also feel bad for the whole cast and crew of thats series Same with the flash because im.sure their next and blue beetle zaslav is finally cleaning house and erasing the damage wb did and im sure they will start over brand new
I don't understand why HBOMax would be folded into Discovery+. I know it's been struggling to compete with Netflix and Disney+, but isn't it more popular and a much bigger brand than Discovery+? Who even watches Discovery+? I don't even know what's on Discovery+. Why not make HBO Max stronger by adding in whatever content they have on Discovery+?
Zaslav is killing Warner Bros' prestige service for a trashy reality branded service lol. Apple TV+ will take HBO Max's place. Sad day for the one of the big 4 studios.
I first watched Grace’s videos back in 2016 when she was covering the OG Batman vs Superman hate and drama It’s shocking to see DC in such a mess all these years later and Grace still reporting on it!
Yes all because WB exec didn’t trust or believe in there original line up and listened to John’s they’ve never recovered from the double slap of bvs and then messing with ss and justice league was then last nail on coffin. The last I think real slap was once we found out about everything that happened behind the scenes smh awful
Same ,I really didn't expect DC to come back to chaos like this but honestly l not excted for this project put anyway ,when I watch the old videos and compare them with the new videos, I notice an amazing and wonderful development in the channel in all # respects on this thing ..
Likewise Also crazy to think how much MCU benefited from how poorly DC has done (less split of viewers and a good brand image with casual fans for MCU)
Between dumping all the 2021 movies on HBOMAX without even telling the directors. To then scrapping entire movies directors have made cause now they changed their minds and don't even want HBOMAX (which is a great sevice with brand recognition for cenifiles) WB has ruined every relationship they had with hollywood and with general audiences and I don't see them recovering for a WHILE. Just hoping we still get Dune 2 🙏
@@alazkaalazka6087 Err I think you are missing the bigger picture. If they are rebooting everything I doubt they will keep a separate universe for Batman only stuff. If Reeves Batman stuff isn't going to be part of a wider universe it's probably gone too
@@kityhawk2000 That’s if Zaslav even wants to do a shared universe anymore. It hasn’t been working out so well. Maybe DC should just stick to solo films and make sure they’re good quality. Hell, even Marvel is hitting some speed bumps now. It’s not easy, but Feige is the BMOC over there so he can right the course when he sees the rough water. DC has been sailing through a damn hurricane for years, but they never seemed to know how to get out of it and it only kept getting worse. And I love ZSJL and Aquaman. I like Wonder Woman (still haven’t watched 1984) and Man of Steel too. Batman v Superman even. However, the rest of the DC films have been… So Zaslav is looking at his options. A shared universe may no longer be on the table. For now anyway.
I love that this mess finally ends, although I would’ve liked to see Batgirl. But it’s refreshing this way, starting from scratch. BUT wiping out HBO Max is idiotic. It has a great branding and name, that could easily also work all over the world, why „Discovery+“ would never work in other countries and sounds … well, cheap and old.
It's because the movies god awful so they would rather take a 90 million dollar loss than release it. It has nothing to do with priorities on other projects etc
It’s unfair to the people who worked on these. Zaslav probably didn’t want to softly rebuild DC with some movie that will break timeline, put an end to this era and start new, but he probably didn’t want to wait and went aggressive. He could be right and make it work by doing this, or he can fail miserably. I think judgment should be kept until the result.
He's a smart man who's making sure his company's not embarrassed with a failure. So many companies have lost money on dumbass WOKIE WOKEVILLE movies and I just keep on trucking along to make certain small groups happy. Anyway, Barbara Gordon is an iconic character. Old school fans were less than thrilled anyway as the actress was not going to have red hair or any of that. It's like suddenly Hollywood hates redheads. That's my take
For DC fans this makes them look more like a mess. I think it's urgent that zaslov find his "Kevin Feige" as soon as possible, figure out a course of action and publicly tell the fans what they plan to do. They need to be upfront and honest and assure fans that there's a plan and what that plan is.
I don’t care about the DCEU, they can scrap everything and start over. But getting rid of HBO MAX would be a mistake, I feel like that is a top tier streaming site, I love the look of it, the interface and especially the CONTENT!
I think it's hilarious and it's good to see somebody running a company who finally really cares about the product! The man saw the movie, and clearly he wants to save his company the embarrassment. And think about it for real. They had characters ready where they could make BANK. Henry Cavill made it clear in the past he was ready to keep playing superman. I sure fire way to make money and have a great movie. How crazy the old bosses shoved him aside. clearly the old regime cared more about satisfying small groups from WOKIE WOKEVILLE. The new guy is making smart decisions
Never clicked so fast lmao! This is getting shaky af!! And so continues our suffering of being a DC fan. We should all be used to this by now. Let’s see what the future holds.
i feel awful for all the lovely actors like grace, levi, mamoa, fraser, etc but this has needed to happen for a long time now. i have high hopes for a more cohesive and consistent franchise after this.
Right?! Like I could care less about Discovery+ bc I'm not an unscripted fan. He doesn't realize how bad he's shooting himself in the foot with this move
I have wanted Warner Bros to be this aggressive, just start from scratch and build DC like Marvel has with a connected singular universe, however I cannot deny that doing this to talent like Leslie Grace and Sasha Calle, who faced so much backlash for being cast in their respective roles but persevered on and did a lot to promote the films, are now getting treated like they are dispensable.
Hey, no sense in trashing old school fans like me. Barbara Gordon is AN ICONIC CHARACTER WITH RED HAIR. So yeah, she didn't really fit the role. Still it could have been a good movie. However, the man saw it and I highly suspect it was full of cringy WOKIE WOKEVILLE crap. He decided to save his company the embarrassment
This dude running DC is a smart fella. He realized this ridiculous looking thing was goona bomb hard so he put the kill on it. Why take the hit? Why water down the Batman IP with this CW level looking bomb in the making? Fck that cut the losses. Come on Grace lets grab some beers and celebrate! 😍
Honestly...I am pumped!!!!!!!!! my biggest problem with DC (NON- animation) is that it was been directionless for more than a decade. The Kevin Fiege led MCU may have hit a few rough patches as of late BUT at least it is a coherent vision that has direction. The DCU has been all over the place for MORE than 10 years. I would gladly take some level of WELL THOUGHT OUT - COHESIVE story telling if it means a few feathers have to ruffled (which let's be real, was eventually going to be necessary)
In my opinion the directionless in recent years was a positive of the DCEU, because there was less concern with making things fit together there has been more focus on making movies good, *and* it allowed for a greater variety in the films; Marvel's consistent style is getting stale and the interconnectedness is starting to strain the creative process
I think Discovery has a more global presence whereas HBOMax is mainly US based. Maybe this means that they’re finally going to expand their streaming service worldwide.
Got to admit it's a pretty a--hole thing to do. Like if Discovery wants to create their own DC why can't they at least release what's been done but make it clear they're not continuing those stories? People get to see these films and they also get to move on. Sure, it'll leave the DCEU on a cliffhanger but at least we have those film to watch and look back upon. I hope they reconsider and put Batgirl on streaming. Also, what the heck is happening to subscribers of HBO Max? HBO Max has become one of my favorite streaming services. Will the content of HBO Max migrate to Discovery+ or are we losing that?
So sad to see this happen to the DCEU. This house even with it’s weak foundation still had some bright spots. So for them to basically condemn it and light it ablaze is just devastating.
Nothing to be sad about. WB had 14 years since Iron Man and TDK in 2008 to get their movies and universe right and somehow managed to make a mess of it all. Time to give the running of the whole thing to new hands.
This movie was so bad with test audiences that WB decided the film will never be released. WB more than likely saved some careers by locking this stink pile away from the wider public.
House of Dragons is HBO proper, should be fine. 2 seasons at minimum bc of cost. As for Flight Attendant, I think it's done but on Cuoco's terms. She said it was over after the S2 finale.
The biggest question of it all: how does all of this will affect The Batman moving forward? I wonder if they would use that film/universe as their Step 1 in what could be their new DC Saga.
Zaslav is the man that transformed Discovery from a prestige nature/history/science producer to a channel with cheep reality shows and naked people lost in the woods. I trust this is the man that can figure out what is a good movie.
So basically all the content I had been excited for they were offered on HBO Max is going away in favor the shit thats being shuttled on Discovery+ this is such a bad fucking move.
I am actually kind of a fan of this. I would love to see DC movies get a fresh start. It could be so much better in my opinion. Personally I have not been a big fan of the Snydervers. Couldnt really finish Justice League. But I did really like what Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson did with Batman there.
Oh if Batgirl who is a more recognized character got the shaft like that, then there is no hope for Blue Beetle. I’m starting to think that even The Flash might get cut.
This is the first thing in a while from Warner Bros DC that's actually excited me. I'm okay with letting the DCEU fade away. Just sucks for the cast and crew of all the projects getting canned.
@@ebukaobieri that’s the thing, it won’t be the same people. Discovery is going to bring in new people to run DC. It’s a better chance at getting good DC movies than anything we would’ve gotten without this change.
@@AS-ri1mb I’m not saying we will. But there’s a better chance of getting better stuff now that it’s heading in a new direction with new people running DC.
The thing that most tires me is Snyderverse. Those movies- MOS, BVS, SS are the reason why DC is in such a mess right now. Like how hard could it have been for Kevin Tuchihara (whatever he's called) to hire someone to make a crowd pleasing Superman movie instead of dark, grim, suffocating opera to start a shared universe on a positive note? But, no. They wanted to turn Superman movie into a Dark Knight movie, and then everything following that. It really sucks to be a DC fan right now after how we were the top dog during TDK trilogy. It all changed with IronMan and MOS.
Utter nonsense. The Snyderverse movies are like Alex Ross graphic novels come to life. You want your bright and colourful crap? You had it with Josstice league!!!
Honestly? I think it’s for the best. DC deserves a chance to have a great film franchise that isn’t stuck halfway between a particular director’s overarching vision on one side (Synderverse), and trying to shake away from that on the other. Obviously, the actors and the crew are the ones getting screwed over here, but who knows, maybe in another 5 years time we can have some truly great DC cinematic content.
