Totally agree! I always thought you could move the location of toilets, sinks and showers wherever there was floor space. I just assumed plumbers moved pipes and connected the new bits and bobs and that was it. Lucy has saved me years of unrealistic expectations and frustrations. Thanks for keeping it real!

We just replaced our bathroom as well, which was even worse than yours, no storage, a plastic shower, no bath a 1000 year old toilet. And 3 kids including a baby. Now we have a bath, a sink with loads of work surface around, 6 different cupboards for storage and a heater as well. My new heaven!!

Having your bathroom renovated is so invasive. We live in a simile property and we had ours done in the summer of 2018. We had no shower for 2 weeks so had to use the hose in the garden to wash haha! Fortunately that particular summer was sooooo hot that it wasn't a huge problem. Once its done it will be so worth it!

This was sooooo helpful to see, we are saving for our ‘only bathroom’ makeover to hopefully happen in the next year, Ive already been worrying about the toilet ‘technicalities’ so found this sooo helpful! ALSO really appreciate the relatability of your bathroom, it’s a similar size to ours so it really helps me visualise the possibilities👏thank you for this!!

Last year, when you shared you were moving into your new home, I was watching while signing solicitors contracts at the start of the buying process of my own place. Covid chaos ensued and my whole purchase took 17 months from offer to completion. I moved in last week!

flash back to when we had the wet room fitted (including a sloped floor which a wet room has to have. And the toloet with no door on for a while too (new door/doorway to fit wheelchair through)!

we did our bathroom ourselves, whilst I was writing my dissertation (excellent procrastination!!). It took 6 months - we had brief periods of no loo and lots of 'trips to marks and Spencer' to use the facilities!! We did manage to always have a shower, sink or bath in operation. Its going to be fab

Thank you for sharing :) I've been wanting to renovate my bathroom since I moved in but haven't known where to start - this has been so useful in thinking about what is and isn't possible (I too had ideas about switching the sink and toilet, and also have pipes that I hadn't considered could be moved into the walls) - looking forward to seeing the progression!

I love seeing renos of older homes and homes in other countries. It's so different everywhere and new challenges that I've never even considered! Can't wait to see Week 2. Did y'all ever consider changing the door to enter a different room? Like putting the door opposite the window? I have no idea where that leads!

We had a kitchen diner extension and oh my I definitely underestimated the dust / mess!! If I ever do it again I will move out 😅 one highlight was washing the pots in our old sink in the garden !!

We’ve recently had our bathroom redone, I used to run up every lunch when they left to see their progress and at the end of every day! Unfortunately our towel radiator was out of stock and then got stuck on the Suez Canal so hoping that will here soon! We went for underfloor heating so least it’s not too cold in there!

This has got me prepared for my bathroom renovation in my one bathroom 100+ year old house in June, kind of a similar job to yours! This was such a cathartic vlog to watch! Our bathroom reno also started on the 29th and our fitters have literally had the exact same process as yours last week! We currently have a temporary toilet in a newly plastered room and a dust covered house! Must say you're dealing with the lack of toilet access during the day A LOT better than me....may have a bucket set up in the living room 😳😂 I'm envisioning watching your completion vlog whilst soaking in my new tub, can't wait to see it 😎🙏🏼

There's so much renovation that needs doing at my boyfriend's (kitchen & bathroom), but same as you, it's only 1 toilet/bath so things will have to be considered before getting into this, because no access to shower and toilet is going to be a big deal here 😂thank you for sharing this whole process with us, I absolutely love it and can't wait to see more!

Looking good. Will be worth it in the end. You could always wee in a bucket in your office during the day to save you having to get the guys to leave everytime you need a wee and then empty it down the loo when they leave? I know the stress of knowing you can't wee when you want to just makes you want to wee even more, so the bucket could relieve the stress of it all.

I'm looking for my own home at the momeny and I have said to the estate agents I don't mind a property that needs a new kitchen or bathroom or both. Watching this I'm glad I'm living with my mum because now I'm certain I'm getting all of that done before I move in! As for the building dust you will find it in your wardrobe too! I previously lived on a new housing development across the road from the site office I swear they had keys to my house and walked dust through before they finished every day lol

Our bathroom (and kitchen) are on our list but this year the big expense is the roof, super important but a ton of money to not change the appeal or appearance of the house much. Such is life as an adult haha

Hi there Lucy. Having just had a new kitchen and two attic conversions done within four weeks, I feel your pain. And I so get your dust vibes! May I suggest an idea that might be useful for you. Take a photo of all the pipe/electrical wires and pipes for future reference. Only saying because my hubby was putting up wardrobe doors. He drilled through a water pipe. Emergency plumber. Say no more. Glad that you have a nice lot of workmen.

exciting times, currently doing our bathroom though have been doing the whole house since we moved in, dust gets every where even inside the fridge, though the cherry on the top was washing and brushing our teeth in the kitchen for two weeks lol though the feeling of accomplishment when the new sink went in cause we are doing it all ourselves was priceless. This is so exciting to watch the transformation. I don't live in the UK but would definitely use that company if I did. I thought it was kind of cute that their "mascot" is a bunny and it just so happens to be Easter weekend. So glad you're having a good experience with them. edit: panic just set in for me thinking about being in that situation right now as it's that time of the month, LOL.

This is so exciting, we're currently renovating our ensuite and adding a shower, but we're doing it all ourself's so I don't think the process will be as quick and satisfying as yours 😅

Currently doing our family bathroom, it looks like a shell with everything ripped out. Luckily we have an en-suite. Don’t know how your coping. Hopefully yours will be done quicker than mine as my other half is doing it as he is a plumber. Good luck

When I had mine done, I knew there was something going on in the old bathroom turned out loads of leaking under the bath. It is very stressful to have no bathroom. I had no loo for a couple of days had to keep nipping to the gym. Luckily pre covid.

Happy Easter Lucy!! 🐣 This is great content, thank you so much. I don’t know if you will see my comment but I would recommend to do the built in behind the toilet, bigger. Meaning, you can probably go higher with the niche and have shelves, maybe even glass shelves. It would look fantastic and you’ll get more storage space. Oh I’m so jealous 😂 our bathroom is desperate for a renovation as none of it works properly but it’s a big job to remove the current non working jacuzzi bath we can’t find a company who want the job 😭
