I knew that Monsanto was quaint and scenic, but I'm now surprised just how stunning it is. Must go there one day. Your own house is looking just stunning - and I see why it's better to live where there are wider modern roads!

Monsanto is just beautiful! Thank you for showing us the homes in and amongst the very large rocks - that was so cool! Your bathroom is coming along nicely. I like the stack of smaller pieces of wood at different angles. I think I would glue them just like they are and then place a round piece of wood or marble on top to make a side table. Or you could make a large candle holder, or a lamp, or, or, or. So many options!

I love the wood. So beautiful. One of the smaller bits you could drill to hold a couple of candles. Enjoy your Birthday adventure.

I’d use the longer piece of wood and the 2 medium pieces to make a bench outside your door, somewhere to sit and contemplate, admire your surroundings with a cuppa and the smaller bits as floating shelves in bathroom for candles, smellies small vase etc. Happy birthday 🎂

Such a beautiful village. The size of the stones are amazing. So much history there for sure. The view from the top is breath taking. You do have to be fit to climb the step path to this majestic area of the village. The chapel ruins are very interesting. It is amazing the archway is still intact. The view is heavenly for sure. Your home reno is coming along faster now. Love all your choices and that beam is gorgeous. Your left over pieces would make beautiful plant container if fitted together with wrought iron hardware. I would have the toilet moved away from the wall as it looks too close to the wall, especially when it is flushed and some of the spray settles on the wall. Look forward to your video of your retreat. Very interested in Templar history. The history would be so interesting. Thank you for sharing. I bet you can't wait to be living in your dream home.

Happy Birthday to a beautiful soul. I am just blown away with the stone walls. Will you consider putting the water heater behind a cabinet? I think the toilet is too close and crooked as well. Pardon my bluntness, but the way one individual has to turn to wipe might be the opposite side. This is your forever home, if it were me, I would move it while you have the workers available. (You already don't like it). Is your working counter in the kitchen going to have an overhang countertop so you could utilize stools? It could then be a wonderful dining top for you and guests, as well as being utilitarian. Those wonderful leftover woodcuts could have so many great future purposes. Mobile candle stands that could be moved however your mood desires, or mobile plant stands would be so pretty with plants cascading down their sides. You could keep them inside and then move them outside on a patio for a night's dinner party. Or into the bath area if so desired :-). Anyway, I probably said too much. Adore you and your life choices. You are such an inspiring role model.

I do agree your toilet is skew. The toilet looks out of place. Your kitchen is starting to really looks good. Could you not make a bench for a outside table . Happy birthday May you have a really special birthday.

If someone is bigger than you then have an outside toilet that they can use. Everyone should not have to come into your room to use the toilet. Put an outside washroom for friends and family to use especially when you have gatherings, parties etc...

The Bathroom is looking lovely but Oh boy- you really have to keep your eyes on the builders every move don't you. That toilet should have been much further over. It is not as though the room was so small it had to be squeezed in.

Hello Suzie, You said you would take us to Monsanto in the summer- thank you, what an interesting place it is. Belated Happy Brthday. The one thing I hated about living in France was House boilers! Had two in my house, 1 in the Kitchen, 1 in the hallway by the bathroom. I managed to build a cabinet around the hallway one and the kitchen boiler had a trailing plant over it. Are you artisitc? The left over wood would make a great modernistic totem pole as a garden sculpture. All joined together at differing heights and lengths with strong rebar. I always had lot of flies in the countryside - are you near any farms?
