Batman Arkham Origins - Noel Batman Skin & Lore 

The author does understand batman's compassion. After Todd died, batman lost his compassion and the story is about him getting it back.

The whole plot of Noel happens because Batman is NOT being the Batman we know. He's riddled with guilt from what happened to Jason and pours himself into his work rather than learning to cope with the emotions his death brought about. That was the whole point of the novel. The writer didn't get Batman's character wrong since this story was about trying to get Batman to be Batman instead of the angry, self-pitying character he was at the start

I think the big thing about Batman: Noel is that it shows what Batman would be like, IF he was driven to the point that he's lost hope and stops really caring about people. In most comics, Batman is shown to really care about people. In Batman: Noel, it shows what happens when Batman breaks, when he stops caring about people and only cares about catching criminals.

Lee Bermejo understands Batman just fine. I thought this was a very unique book, and not a bad character study of Batman.

i think in Batman Noel is told from a different perspective and unlike most Batman stories isn't from his, so we're getting a different perception of Batman, how the low criminals view Batman. and Batman just lost his partner so he did get more violent and angry. that combination could lead to this weirder and violent Batman.

Knightwing, the entire Noel novel was a story Bob Crachit to his son Tim. Superman and Catwoman were hallucinations due to Bruce's increasing illness and his fragile mind due to the RECENT loss Jason Todd. Which is why Superman *disapeared* after the explosion; the entire "being flown by Superman" is Batman running along the Gotham rooftops almost passing out. Batman is more aggressive and mean in this version because Jason has recently died which is something you two failed to grasp and understand, instead wrongfully blaming it on the writer. Batman even in the main continuity became more agressive and antisocial for a while because of the loss and it wasn't until Dick Grayson and Bruce meets Tim Drake that Batman warmed up. It wasn't that the writer didn't understand Batman; it was you two who didn't know what was happening in the main Batman continuity at the time. Anyway this was a great video and it was fun hearing your opinions on the lore. I have subscribed and really want to see more videos of yours like this. Keep it up!

Good video, just one thing, Azarello and Bermejo's Joker wasn't actually based on Heat Ledger's Joker, they started doing the graphic novel around the same time The Dark Knight was been filmed. At least thats what they said in an interview.

I think this was mentioned to you, but Bremejo's portrayal of the Joker was actually done before Heath Ledger's performance. The "Joker" comic was released around the same time yes, but the design idea was presented before.

Old Wounds is one of my favorite Season 4 episodes. Not really for most of the content, which is ok at best, but for the characterization. Nothing as good as Over The Edge or Mad Love, but still a great character piece, and one of the best answers to the question of what happens to these guys after Batman is through with them.

I disagree, I love Noel's message. For some reason, there's this current interpretation is that he's just as insane as the joker, so what I think the book says is that he's past the "brute" bullshit, and back to a more "batman" batman.

Batman Noel was a pretty darn good retelling of The Christmas Carol, and I'm pretty sure the events were played out in the way that the criminal had pictured him just by the first meeting. Sure, I'm positive he was grumpy and rough, but I think Batman was acting Scrooge-like in the way that the criminal was telling the story, not out of how Bruce was acting. If you want a Christmas Carol story interpreted in the Batman universe decently, take a look at the "Ghosts" chapter of Batman: Haunted Knight. It was definitely more of a character shaping for Bruce in which it describes how Lucius Fox was hired for Wayne Enterprises and how much Bruce realises how much being solely Batman would affect his world as Bruce Wayne himself.

it's a cool story but i think there's only two people who the christmas carol story could go well with and that would be either superman or the green lantern. superman has occasions were he can lose track of who he is because of anger or because he has killed or couldnt save someone. when superman cant save someone it affects him more than batman. as for the green lantern, there has been times were hal jordan has thought of giving up his title as the green lantern and just leaving the corps.

some people or friends perceive me as scruge sometimes when i get grumpy which also happens with other lots that like being alone sometimes. but we must know when to be happy sometimes for no reason but to feel good. the superman and batman friendship you described in this book seems really like it and very funny. realistic too. i get cold all the time during winters , i have these buddies and family trying to treat and telling me not to go anywhere. i think the whole ghost that reminds you of your past thing was done by catwoman, something tells me would have been better if zatanna took that role since she has a innocent vibe and friendly caring to Bruce. selina walks a thin line between flirting and love with batman but zatanna has the more friendly vibe. but anyway thanks so much for all this lore , love your videos and gameplay. very informative and fun

There was a period after Jason's death before the recruitment of Tim were batman was harder on criminals, noël was pretty accurate to how batman was at that stage in his life, and the story seems set around that time

Hmm i kinda think You love birds took the book the wrong way I think. What's the point of having the same batman with the same personality in different novels? Like I think the point of noel is to tell the alternate version of a calm moderately cool billionaire crime fighter not just think "oh batman is such and such so I'm not going to make him Any different". The point of him bring scrooge is to give a different perspective of who Bruce Wayne is or could be. Like in thrill seeker you guys did

I don't get you're problem with it, it sounds VERY similar to the Animated series episode 2 or 3 I think it was "Christmas with the Joker!", as in the some of the elements of batman character as he acts the same way in the episode were Dick keeps telling Bruce to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" and Bruce refuses to watch because the Joker is lose in the city and he recons even on Christmas the joker will be up to something and i do get some of your problems but it sounds great as an elswords story, if this was cannon then I would probably agree but it sounds pretty cool.

King Kamina was right it was an alternate timeline in which superman, instead of landing in Kansas he lands in Russia and is used as a weapon. and his costume and personality and almost everything changes.

I think that Jason todd being the red hood is his most perfect and well-deserved portrayal yet. Not only he kills because he thinks that they deserve it, which mostly they do. hey, at least he saves batman the trouble of not killing, he has Jason todd to do it for him, so to speak, but he also symbolizes of what batman shouldn’t be. Don’t forget, batman holds a lot of anger just as much as Jason, sometimes even more than that and he is lucky to keep it in but he finds trouble to keep it in because he knows that he is so tempted to unleash it and unleash hell and become the demon that he created sure, he was killed by the fans and he was too brush and cocky and stubborn (mostly because of his suppressed anger of his past life which is understandable) but being red hood really shows a msg to batman of what he must not become, even he is finding trouble to hold it in and keep it under control
