At 11:52 you can see Mark Hamill's name! Right at the bottom. Cool easter egg, guys. This was an amazing fan film. My only gripe was Batman's voice wasnt that intimidating, but other than that, PERFECT.
I'm going to admit, at first I did not like how the film was just fight after fight, but when the twist happened, it totally changed my thoughts on this film, it was one of the best fan films I've seen in batman!
I really liked the interesting take on batman and his villains, but I do have few problems that I feel could be worked on in a future film. Firstly I felt like batmans voice wasn't intimidating enough to be batman. Secondly I felt like the music at some points were not fitting for what was taking place in the scene. Lastly I thought that the combat could be worked on, it was so slow that it seemed like batman was waiting to be beat up. Overall this was a great fan film and you did a really good job
Well DC stole your awesome idea. Check out Batman the Last Knight on Earth. I have a feeling Scott Snyder watched this fan film. I wonder how the creators of this feel about that
This was so well done...the message in it, the style between the hospital and the fighting, the cinematography, and of all the Batman fan films I've watched lately, best fight scene. This was just amazing!
Very well done!!! I'm glad that you took this story seriously, I was worried it was going to be a parody, but you guys did this alternate universe so much justice. Thank you for bringing this story to life with such accuracy!!!
OK, that was not what I was expecting. When watching it, I was thinking that it is OK (beautifully shot but didn't quite understand the characters) but, by the end, it makes complete sense and it's definitely an intriguing concept and take on Batman.
Batman sounds entirely too young, and doesn't even fill out the cowl. Riddler looks like he just popped out of the womb. I also noticed during the scene where Batman is looking at his parents, one of the ears on the cowl was bent and twisted slightly. Couldn't unsee it for the remainder of the film. A way to avoid that for future fan films, if there are any: Stuff the ears with a semi-rigid foam, like what's used in furniture. This film, for the most part, is enjoyable. Well choreographed, above-average acting, superb cinematography, and that twist at the end. Incredible. I really do hope you don't take anything negative I said to heart. I mean it all with the best of intentions.
That was really good! Thanks for giving me your card to watch this in Atlanta! That was a very interesting take on the Batman "sickness" which is really a cool idea. I enjoyed meeting you all! Hope your video did well at DragonCon. :) As promised my Facebook page for my cosplay page is facebook.com/guardiandreamercosplay Again, it was very nice to meet you guys. :)
This was a very good fan product. Not without it's faults ( Batman's voice namely) but overall good. Especially Riddler and Joker's performances, and that twist. Even I fell for the old fake joker gag this time...
At 10:56 it predicted Suicide Squad...I am looking at you Leto... Additionally-the Plot Twist: the fan theory that Bruce Wayne is actually a patient at Arkham (after the trauma of his parents' murders) that he "imagines" himself as "Batman" and all "this" is in his head. :0 *Great video by the way
This is the best Batman fanfilm I've ever seen. It's so great that you used this theory and damn I love you to put Eddie in a fanfilm too (sure he's a part of this theory but I want to thank you nevertheless.) The costumes are great, the story is awesome and your actors are awesome! And don't forget the awesome soundtrack! I want Eddies theme as my ringtone because it fits so damn perfect! And the eastereggs and oh my god everything of this film is just perfect! I am a GREAT fan of your work! Thank you for this wonderful piece of work! You can actually feel the love you put into this. It's damn amazing. I'm in freakin' love with this fanfilm!
Wow, what a psychological sucker punch! Very, very well thought out. Entertaining on a deeper level. ( Ps. Harley's voice was right on it.) Bravo guys!
You know what? This wasn't the best made Batman Fan Film. But god damn did it have personality! I mean, there's something so weirdly, twistingly charming about it. And the twist at the end definitely gives it major points in my book. So overall, it was a nice, enjoyable little fan film.
I know this really late but excellent action sequences! The fights looked incredibly realistic and I loved seeing the Batman deal with electric shock treatment!
Nicely done! The different angles are next level! Awesome job! Me and a friend are actually working on actually fan film based on the show "Young Justice". Hopefully it'll come out as good as this!
Good job... I loved the fighting... reminds me of the black and white serials how batman and robin fought there capes as much as the villains! Ps jokers laugh was the best of all the fan films yet!
LOVE the concept! Way to go! Great stunt work and some cool lighting. I just wish it was a bit tighter - I think it would've been cool to have the hospital location be where batman is because he's trying to get to someone to save them so you could intercut the doctor scenes and trim back each section. The payoff should be that Bruce is the patient, but that comes way too early to hit home and then we wait for the explanation after the fact. But all in all, it's a brilliant idea for a fan film, or a batman film in general for that matter! Kudos to everyone involved! =)
Once I saw batman in the hospital I knew where this was going this story is a what if story for so many years nice story shitty costumes n fight scenes tho but I applaud the story I'm glad someone has done it
Reminds me a bit of the Buffy episode where she is fooled into thinking she was a mental patient that created her whole life as the Slayer, or was she fooled to think this?
Thoroughly enjoyed this and was relieved to see this take on the beloved caped crusader that I've scene in posts from the same year this came out. Well made and I'd say well acted, only criticisms were some of the fighting choreography seemed to slow and telegraphed at times, and Bruce's room having all that batman decor would only exacerbate is mental instability, otherwise excellent film and it shouldn't be as hidden a gem it is.
Were you guys the first to come up with this theory? I remember hearing it somewhere and it just makes so much sense, I personally believe it could apply to most versions. Also that line about “the villains are his family”... what a take on the character!
WELL DONE!THE FIRST PART WAS KIND OF CRINGY. BUT THE SECOND HALF WAS GREAT. WHAT A TWIST.THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER FAN FILMS I HAVE SEEN IN A WHILE.THIS WAS ORIGINAL. WELL DONE!
Not bad.... It tells an interesting story and is true to form.... It isn't a mindless slugfest, but a case study that really understands the source Material..... Everyone played their part well.... with a few exceptions that I will address.... A few critiques though.... > Action sequences are a little slow..... > Batman seemed a little weak.... (not physically, I mean his will) > You could use an actor who can better fill out the batsuit..... - Also someone with a more commanding voice.... (not like 'Dark Knight though....) .- Maybe dub him.... > I think the Riddler was played better in the 'alternate version' - If he could be that way the whole time, but with more riddles as a villain, it would be better..... - The Riddler shouldn't fight..... > His riddles were terrible.... - they are supposed to challenge the mind and get into Batman's psyche.... - The first riddle kind of worked, but the challenge that came after didn't..... - and I'd prefer if he didn't rhyme, but it's not a huge problem..... > Harley needs pigtails..... > It wouldn't hurt to go a little bigger on the Joker makeup....
Since RU-vid's changed their algorithm, I'm seeing A LOT of Batman fan films pop up on the homepage. So, as a fan of the character, I watch the vast majority of them. And, the vast majority of them I stop watching within two minutes. Why? They botch the visual presentation of this character. The costumes like they were brought, off the rack, from Halloween USA. They don't fit the actors and look laughable as a result. The actors themselves are too physically slight to effectively portray Batman/Bruce Wayne. Also, physically, they appear about ten years too young for the role. Then there are the voices that lack any trace of intimidation or formidability. This leads to an absolute shattering of the suspension of disbelief. It happens within the first two minutes, and I simply stop watching. This short's no different. The acting and action doesn't have to be anything more than passable. But, when the lead character looks like a kid LARP'ing with their friends, it's not quite worth watching. I recognize there's passion here, and I respect that. There's also some skill in regards to the pacing and stunt work. However, it fails at making the lead character look remotely credible, which is EXTREMELY vital to any production (fan based or professional grade). I wish this creator well and will continue to watch any future posts I'm alerted to. But, this short, while better than most, still falls short of the bar set by the likes of Batinthesun. Sorry.
Okay, so i really do love this fan film it's a tremendous take on Batman's origins but with that said In my opinion i think they shouldn't have done the twist mainly because i would love to see sequels of this fan film. But keep up the great work and i hope another one comes out soon :)
