WB's strategy for DC films is basically just put Batman in everything. They couldn't make it to two Superman movies without getting Batman involved in it.
@@AntiWokeBloke I'm sure that's what Warner Bros. is thinking but I for one would like to see different heroes having their time to shine. There's been like 9 live-action movies with Batman in it already.
@@Carlos-ln8fd Yh I think they made a big mistake by not just getting a really young passionate actor who could be batman for 10 years so they didn’t keep having to change him
@@AntiWokeBloke I don't know. Affleck seemed committed to the role, even getting attached to direct the Batman film. I think the problem is that DC kept changing directions and wouldn't stick to one vision.
He used to be a teacher and didn't want to show his face because he didn't want his podcasting to impact his teaching job. but he hasn't been a teacher for a long time so now he's okay with his identity being attached to the podcast. or something along those lines? although why he specifically chose a goat to hide is identity that I couldn't say.
Also, in a very early podcast (I think from 2015?) James asked Mason if he would rather be actor Harrison Ford in the Star Wars universe, lost in a reality he doesn't understand with people aproaching him thinking he's Han Solo and asking for their money back OR Han Solo but with a goat head. James obviously told him that he would go with the latter. That, or he's the son of Han Solo and Philoctetes.
With Jupiters Legacy I find the opposite, I enjoy more the old timey stuff than the present super hero stuff. But for what you guys said it gets a lot more interesting in the comics and they should have adapted it a lot better.
married people can ABSOLUTELY testify against each other, they just cannot be forced to by the court. At least in the USA. I dunno how it is in other countries.
My favourite thing about the Gene Simmons' story is that Earls was described as one of Saskatoon's top restaurants. For reference Earls is a moderately up-class chain restaurant, like a fancy Applebee's.
I'm only 1/4 through book 2 of Sweet Tooth but I read book 1 before the show came out. I love the differences, but with all series that need to pad the storyline.. there are huge breaks with Singh's backstory and their version of the "Sanctuary" that just drag on way too long. I hope they planned for 3 seasons in full and call it quits.
People loved to throw shade at Transcendence at the time, but it was pretty decent. Was definitely shooting for more than it could handle production wise.
7:16 they fixed it. - No. The 1989 bat symbol What specifically based on the symbol AS it appeared in The Killing Joke which had two extra points. This bat symbol is based on the one that appeared in Batman Returns
Jupiter's legacy probably failed because it was just OK it was meh it wasn't great and it wasn't bad it was ok and generic that's almost worse than being extremely bad
I only watched it because they mentioned it on here. The production quality was trash. Like basic cable level work there (just look at the cheap ass wigs alone haha). And the acting was atrocious all around.
For me the saddest part was on paper it sounded good. An older generation of superheroes stuck in the past and butting heads with a younger generation who think their methods are outdated sounds like it could work (and presumably did work in the comic). Problem was that's not what we got. It seemed to me like the writers were more concerned with all the stuff in the past and as a result all the stuff in the present felt like a dull afterthought.
Imo, JupitersLegacy had 9ne absolute outstanding episode, that one being Georges backstory intertwined with the twist of him being Skyfox. Extremely well directed and imo also acted, and noticeably better than the other episodes.
So I know you are talking about Clock, but you meant to talk about the Button, where Reverse Flash and Batman do actually fight. Also Clock was fun, it would have been cool stand-alone, but I thought it was a cool way to use the Watchmen relative to the DC heroes.
idk, I didn't have a problem with the flashbacks in Jupiter's Legacy. Some of the effects definitely didn't work for me, but I was excited for the resolution. I'm pretty bummed we won't be getting it now.
Didn't like Jupiter's Legacy much, but finding out after the fact what was supposed to happen got me interested in season 2. Now I regret watching it at all. $200 MILLION DOLLARS? Sure didn't look like it.
I do think critics were a bit too harsh to Jupiter's Legacy, having said that I did find it boring, tonally inconsistant and I think they shot themselves in the foot spending a bit too much time in the past as that wound up being the more interesting story. I mean the end twist had me really interested and I would've been happy to see a season 2 provided they fixed the problems in season 1. But something tells me they wouldn't have done, they probably would have kept finding excuses to go back to the past and we still would be stuck with the dull, generic characters in the present day. So I for one won't shed a tear that this has been cancelled and I might just read the comic instead.
I really hope you guys do Batman Returns on Caravan of Garbage at some point, re-watched the 1989 video the other day and it's one of the best CoG's ever.
As a fan of the original comic and its sequel I didn’t even bother watching jupiters legacy because it was just so transparently not adapting the comic properly. Even from the trailers I could just tell it was going to be a “Netflix”d version of everything, (aka dragged out to the maximum number episodes with terrible costume/set design and refusing to properly adapt stuff from the comic whilst constantly hinting at that same stuff to try and get fan credit)
I usually give most new superhero media a chance, as there have been so many good comics, films and series recently which do something new and interesting with the genre. I still don't think anyone has really nailed making a decent tv series with a relatively straight superhero narrative. Jupiter's Legacy was really badly advertised, and the clips I saw gave me no motivation to watch it. Hopefully someone will manage to make a superhero series which isn't just a bad soap opera with bad cgi superpowers thrown in.
I still love the first seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Yes the Marvel-Netflix shows only got worse the longer they went on but those first two were still really good imo.
@@MattLawson146 thank you so much! James’ laughter of pure joy at his son’s “a pig rolling down a hill” joke in this week’s episode was a big help. 😂👍🏻
I really liked Jupiter's Legacy (Ascension)! I was really looking forward to it continuing and seeing where it would go. I really think that Netflix should have put more into promoting it. It's on you Netflix.
I watched the first ep of Sweet Tooth, hoping my initial impression might be wrong. I wanted something new that was good...but, alas, I didn't like it, despite such positive reviews. I thought it was well shot, had a couple interesting ideas, but was overall unoriginal...just didn't seem like anything I'd want to continue with. It was work getting through the first episode. Now, I really liked Stranger Things and Lost in Space, and I see Lost in Space is getting the axe after 3rd season. I really like a lot of that. Dang.
terrible adaptation its an insult to the original, boring horrible pointless pampered bullshit for babies, you know what i call this ? sugar coating it
So this is why you're wrong about Jupiter's legacy, you don't even watch the majority of superhero shows arrowverse old Netflix marvels shows ot anything really you guys never watch it and its hilarious the show you guys did watch gets cancelled after a week and you're like "No it's good I promise!!"
